Awesome review! I'm only recently collecting the TF Animated toys starting with Voyager Optimus Prime and Deluxe Class Bumblebee, and wanted to see how the animated Ultra Magnus looks in toy form, and so far, I'm impressed. This is definitely in my "must have" list of TF Animated toys, as Ultra Magnus is one of my favorite Autobots since the G1 series.

Nice review. These are nicely sized and look pretty neat. Still like the G1 series but its nice to see them in a new life form.

This is probably going to be the best Ultra Magnus toy made to date! My only dislike is his hammer weapon! They should have made him with his classic and highly detailed G-1 classic laser rifle. After the G-1 Transformers toys who I believe had the best detailed weapon's out of all the other series of Transformers Hasbro just never can seem to get it right with the detailed weapon's that they tend to keep out of the Transformers hands for some reason?!

Your review is MUCH, MUCH better than Sean Long's. His is almost impossible to watch with all the bad jokes and the 26 minute run time. Yours is detailed but straight to the point. Keep it up man! :D

Hey, I got him from a seller on ebay who i do buisness with, some sellers on ebay usally get prototypes on unreleased figures so thats how i get them. If you want any of them I can get some for you, but they cost more then retail price, so if your willing to pay more i will gladly help you get them.

usually Optimus is higher ranked.

but not in the new Animated series. they even say that the "Prime" is a rank, not a proper name.

so Sentinel and Optimus are the same rank... however, does that mean Ultra Magnus' actual name is just "Ultra"?

I was thinking of that also, Maybe the title "magnus" is for the current supreme commander of the autobots, But his is the only series where ultra magnus is a higher rank then prime, so maybe ultra magnus was once just Ultra.

That thing looks awesome! lol The only thing that I only slightly dislike about it is that it is bigger then Megatron.

But technically, it's the Megatron that has a problem because Megatron's leader class figure is bigger then Voyager Prime in robot mode as he should be, but he isn't big enough. In the show he was nearly twice Prime's size and could pick Prime up by the waist using one hand. :-P

So yeah, all in all it's really Megatron with the flaws, so I'm definitely gonna get Ultra Magnus!

they both are actually very cool but if you want more detail i recommend powerglide, they both have the same sounds including the same jet noises and machine gun noise. but silverbolt transformation is easy, i would recommend powerglide.

Great review, Magnus lloks really cool. Couple of questions:

a) How is he in the articulation department?

b) How tall is Magnus compared with Movie Leaders?

Articulation is perfect. He looks so good in every department the transformation is pretty simple and next to Movie Optimus Prime he is a centimeter smaller then Regular Leader Movie Optimus Prime(Not Premium)
