I mean no disrespect, but if I'm being perfectly honest, Payne has nothing insightful or provocative to say, her music is so forgettable. Her voice is indistinctive and insincere, her song writing is weak - she crafts songs like a 14 year old who wants people to think they're cool and profound. Maybe I'm being cynical, but I can't help but think that she got signed due to her obvious industry connections. I gave her album a shot, but I just couldn't find anything to like.

Personally I prefer the 7" mixes produced by Simon Dine (Paul Weller collaborator). Mark Ronson has a knack of making bright, glossy productions... a touch watered down because of it...
