  • Very good Maya. Fluid with power.

  • My karate style, Soryu Karate, is like a little cousin of yours! very similar.

  • Chambering gives the other guy time to hit you!

  • @mrthebillman if you dont chamber then how can you punch or kick? Its like trying to shoot a gun without cocking the hammer.

  • @TonyPstunts Your not shooting a gun dummy. Your trying to intercept an incoming attack, or trying to strike an opponent. Funakoshi invented 'chambering' as a way to slow down, and water down what he was giving the invaders ( Japanese ) You telegraph your moves by 'chambering' I assure you, it does not exist in Okinawan Karate.

  • @mrthebillman Gichin Funakioshi "invented" Hikite? Your statement makes no sense. How else can you tsuki if the hand never retreates back to its "Chamber"? Only going forward and never going back? Perhaps you can post a video explaining or demonstrating your hypothosis?

  • @TonyPstunts Never mind. The first time your in a real fight, go ahead and chamber. Your opponent will thank you.

  • @mrthebillman I trained at a Shorin Ryu dojo. You can actually do that very quickly. It is exaggerated here and slow for this ladies kata. I agree though, that sometimes your strikes can't fully be brought back because they are telegraphed too much, but for a power punch to finish someone, I could break bricks boards etc with a chambered strike. I won't fess up to other things it could do because of the 5th Amendment >.>

  • @mrthebillman soooo, you cant prove or accurately present your hypothosis? Next time just dont comment then, k?

  • @TonyPstunts What hypotheses? (note spelling) It's Body Mechanics.

  • @mrthebillman Well, until you actually post any vids showing your supposed skills and prowess, I suggest you not make such silly comments about someone elses techniques. I trust I spelled everything right?

  • Very nice. Great for others to follow and learn this kata. Thanks!
