  • Acts 8:27-38

36 Now they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”

37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”

And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

38 And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.

    I believe

    Matt 18:20

20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

  • @mofo34736 Wait wait wait. You're using the context from Acts 8:27-38 to dictate the meaning of Matt 18:20? This somehow does not make sense to me.

  • @spasticmonastic OK the topic here iS THAT some christians like to say that where 2 OR 3 ARE IN MY NAME IM THERE.

MY ANSWER IS YES THIS IS TRUE TO (MATT 18) AND (ACT 8:27-38)

    Philip AND THE eunuch.

ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME THAT WHERE 2 OR 3 ARE IM THERE

    IS NOT TRUE???????????????????

THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO DELETE MANY TEXT FROM THE BIBLE WHERE

2 OR 3 IM THERE APPLY LIKE (ACTS 17-18) WHERE ANANIAS BAPTIZED PAUL?????????????? OR PAUL AND THE JAILER.AND I CAN GO ON AND ON.

  • yipee!

  • for the Jew, name means nature, when Jesus refers to ... "in my name" He means one thing and one thing alone, in His nature. The expression of His nature is always situational. He does not manifest to a maniac as He would to a divorcee at a water fountain. His H. S. will lead you and guideyou into the Divine Order of things at each and every event. So, throw the playbook away and exercise yourself at staying in Him. Your behavior will always be confirmed in the Word. Clean animals r like that.

  • I believe that is what I was going for.

  • I'll look at it. It happens to be in one of my current passages of scripture.

  • Cool deal... Thanks ya sir :)

    Peace

  • I have a Bible study request.... should the Holy Spirit lead you to do so.

    John 15:18-25

I request this passage as I believe it contains a clue which is often overlooked by mainstream Christianity, resulting in misinterpreting much of the meaning behind the Gospels and much of the NT.

So, if the Spirit leads you, I'd like to hear your take on that passage... I'm not looking to debate, just curious how you perceive it.

    Peace :)

  • Excellent! *****

  • good video! Totally Agree. It isn't applicable to a "functioning church". Individual circumstances.
