  • you could clean him faster by using r+a.

  • @MrSpEeDrUn

    yes

  • How do u do u

  • And how are we supposed to do that? O_O

  • @1LittleBudd

You can do this: Get hurt by a cloud or goop monster, divejump onto the railing, get on the mushroom, sideflip-dive onto the next mushroom, etc.

    It's a little risky, tho.

  • Did you guys know that "Inferno" means Hell in portuguese?

  • You just put to shame my countless hours of trying to do this without going underneath.

  • @DavidADII You do know that there actually is a way through this level without going underneath, right?

  • Very nice. I didn't know it was possible to dive over the lave like that.

  • Nice run. What rev were you using?

  • @mapler90210

    r7251

  • @mugg1991 I see. I'm afraid there aren't any revs that are notably better. For a mix of performance and TASing capability, 7318 might be the best (the one where loading times were fixed), as many fixes after that made it worse for TASing. For pure TASing, i'm not really sure what would be best. I might recommend 7318 anyways just because the loading screens will definitely break your runs if you change revs.

  • @mapler90210

All the TASes I make with r7251 aren't meant to be able to be played back on future revisions, so it's fine.

It will be a long time until I'm going to make a serious TAS (if at all - I hope).

The desyncs I'm having occur because sometimes Dolphin gets messed up and will use input from the previous frame (even when loading a state, it will use the input that was used on the previous frame). Therefore, movie files are effectively screwed if this mess-up happens.Only my theory though.

  • @mugg1991 For a "not serious" TAS, this is rather impressive. Only the first line could see any notable improvement (you strafe to the left a lot instead of just starting with a slightly different angle.)

And yeah, from what i've seen, that appears to be the general consensus. I don't recall whether there's been a fix for it or not. I somewhat doubt it, since the developers generally doubt pay attention to TAS features when they "fix" other things.

  • @mapler90210

I'm in contact with one Dolphin developer who does pay attention to the problems I mention to him as well as TAS features. He already took note of that input shifting I described above, but we couldn't find a way to recreate it (to fix it).

  • @mugg1991 I see. It's nice to know that someone is keeping an eye on it. From your conversations with him, does it seem like he's confident that TASing has stayed the same or improved? Or does it seem like some features have gotten less usable/stable with recent changes? I ask because several of my friends say it's gotten worse, but I haven't noticed anything definitive.

  • @mapler90210

I have no idea what his stance is, but I'd say it has improved. There have been many fixes and the emulator has improved in general. The most recent versions are unstable due to changes to the video plugins though.

  • @Dxstroia ich glaub er versteht kein deutsch

  • @WiFiConnection1

    wer versteht kein deutsch?

  • @mugg1991 du oh ich dachte immer du sprichst englisch

  • Both the game choice and the strat you used were unexpected. This was awesome, great job dude!

  • Be prepared, mugg...

  • Very nice man!

  • Really awesome. Look very fast. =O

  • That was insane =O
