  • stupid ass vidoe writing all over it using mag glass don't work, figure it out before you film, stupid

  • Look at my change!

    Pennies- 1965,1964 two of them,1940 S,1975 D,1944,1961 D

    Nickels-1946

    Quarters-1965 both

  • does it have to have an S on it??

  • @tutunakin It has to have an "S" and it has to be the doubled die.

  • is it any 1969 penny? because i just found one!

  • hey if i find one will you help me judge it? like if its legit? please get back at me..

  • @kinoguti1 Post a vid and I'll let you know.

  • @LookAtYourChange okay so today i found a 1970 S penny im exicted i really need to make a video! thanks alot for the fast reply..

  • I have been collecting 1969 pennies since the forth grade when i found out what 69 meant... i have about 4 pounds of these pennies and i have two of those pennies :D IM RICH!!!!!

  • i regret not hanging onto a few of these...*sigh.

  • what kind of magnifier is the best for looking at cents or dimes ? thank you

  • @18wheeler76 Please watch my vid "Magnifying Glasses, Microscopes, and Classes of Doubled Dies".

    Thank you for watching!

    P.S. I don't add friends...but thank you for inviting.

  • @LookAtYourChange thank you i will.

  • FREAKIN HELL I used to have one of these as a kid. I remember keeping it and thinking wow this 69 *teehee* looks weird. And I set it aside and kept it in my coin collection for a long time and now when I went through it I couldn't find it...I wasn't as into coins back then either...but I know I had one damnit!!!

  • @miscanime OUCH!!! Just try to convince yourself it was "mechanical" doubling, not the actual doubled die...I hope that might ease the pain. ;-(

  • @LookAtYourChange Well that's what I am going to have to tell myself. Usually things like this I would write off as just a mind-wish where I change the past. But I know for sure I had a 69 S that "looked weird" so I dubbed it as special and tossed it in with the rest of the pennies...oh well live and learn. I am no longer ignorant about my pocket change though haha. Thanks for the vids.

  • i sold mine for 7$ i didn`t like the price so i took it back and i cant find a good bid :(

  • the lincoln cent is going to be demonetized? when? why?

  • @jwallbanger It might be demonetized....speculation, not fact. ;-)

  • @LookAtYourChange I just got 3 1969 S in my roll as well as one with out a minted stamp, so what is so special about them? Why are they worth some much?

  • @SpaceMan131326 What the video poster is showing and talking about is what is called a Double die which is a mistake that was made at the time of minting. Not enough room here really to explain everything so do a search for "Double Die coins" and "1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent". Also, the penny you have without a mint mark just means it was made in Philadelphia.

  • @LookAtYourChange Great channel, but really how can I tell it is the right penny, did they make more S 1969 pennies? I will sent you a video

  • heh heh 19-69

  • how about 1904 indian head wheat back

  • @peanutbutterpikachu9 1904? If it has a wheat back it is more than likely a fake.

  • @LookAtYourChange I found one, 1969 S 1969 D and 1969 with no minted stamp, very good conditon what do you think they are worth?

  • @LookAtYourChange I just watched a video that said they went for over a $100,000 at action, do you think I would get more for mine?

  • The only cents to look out for are the 1909 S, 1909 S VDB, 1914 D, 1924 D and 1931 S. These you will not find in change period but here are some goodies you may find. They are: any cents in the teens and twenties not mentioned above. Good ones are: 1911 S, 1912 S, 1914 S, 1915 S and 1919 S. Also, 1922 D and 1924 S are goodies and the only two goodies from the thirties are the 1933 D and 1934 D. The rest of the wheat cents are 0.03 cents depending condition. 1943 cents only good in mint state.

  • Hi there I just found a 1969 s penny, it definately has some wear to it but I looked at it under a microscope and could see that the 969 all had lines around looking like it would have been doubled. The S under the year was most distinguishable as a double. In "In God We Trust" most letters have double looking lines. In all pictures I have seen on the 69 s pennys, everything is very distinguishable and didnt know if the one I have is just a flawed penny or actually doubled

  • @astierwalt2 It sounds as though you are describing a common "mechanical" doubling for the 1969s cent. Vid coming soon.

    Thank you for watching!

  • @astierwalt2 That coin is worth 40 million just sold one on craigs list!

  • If its not a double die how much is it worth?

  • @allsixesnsevens Face value until it becomes demonetized. Then it will be worth copper melt...around two cents in todays copper melt.

  • I have a 1955 double die is that worth any more?

  • @MinniMoR

The 1955 DDO cent isn't as valuable as this one, but it is worth a lot of money. I would suggest watching my vid about the 1955 DDO Lincoln Cent Die #1, then go to Ebay and look at what they're selling for.

    Thank you for watching!

  • I have a really nice, shiny 2011 dime. How much is that?

  • @BoeingBeatsAirbus If its still shiny in 100 years than it might be worth some mony but now its worth 10 cents

  • I'm going to look through "my" penny collection right now. It was actually my grandpa's, but I inherited it. It has pennies from every single year he was alive, plus some earlier and some from later that I added myself. It even has some 1943 steel pennies.

  • i got a 1945 penny is it rare ??

  • @2013091 None of the 1945 P, D, or S cents are "valuable"...about $0.03-$0.05 unless they are mint state coins, red and not cleaned, they are worth around $1-$3++.

    Thank you for watching!

  • thanks for your reply:-)

  • Hello I have to pennies from 1969 and they look in very great condition, my question to you is how much money do you think I have here? I would be interested in selling them, I appreciate your time thank you

  • @Igotmykiki

They are worth $0.02 if they are not like the coin in the vid. There are over 500 million 1969 s cents, over 1 billion philladelphia's, and over 4 billion from denver. If your two cents look alike, I doubt that they are this variety.

    Thank you for watching!

  • yeah i tried deleting my comment right after i posted it, i realized theres just no way id have this penny, ive been sorting my pennies by year and now have a handfull of 69's. ill relook for this special one very sooon.

  • how do i know specificly if ive got the correct coin? the 1969, the S and what else?

  • @Shhawnyh

If you have two 1969s cents and they look the same, you don't have it. If you look at the DDO pics in this vid, and my 1972 DDO Cent vid, you will notice the lettering and the numbers look "funny". If you don't have a magnifying glass, hold it under a BRIGHT, VERY BRIGHT light, and compare it to another. If you have a 1969s DDO, you will notice the difference.

    Thank you for watching!

P.S. get a GOOD pic and post it. I should be able to tell you

  • @LookAtYourChange I have four 1969s pennies and I compared them. I don't notice a difference in lettering but one of the Lincolns seems to be in higher relief than the others. Could that be it?

  • @ccbgraphics

If it looks different, get it looked at by a PROFESSIONAL VARIETY SPECIALIST, not just an average coin dealer . The relief was changed in 1969 to a smaller design. I doubt if it is a design of 1968, but a "normal" 1969 with a "relief/design" of 1968 would be worth a lot more than this DDO!

    Thank you for watching!

  • @ccbgraphics

Hey Joe, just saw my friends 1969-S DD were just the date and S mark is mechanically DD. He asked me to reserch if it is desirerable to collectors.

Also from the forehead of Linclon down to the nose is doubled. What can you tell me about this as being a non typical DD.

    I can sen you pics

  • @bucktailjig

Yes, the 1969s is known for "mechanical" doubling. The obverse die was loose during the production run that had the doubled die. Prior to 1990, any coin that has a doubled "design" AND MINTMARK, is USUALLY "mechanical". I will make a vid, eventually, that will go into how the U.S. Mint started adding the mintmark to the master hub. Then you run across DDO's that have the mintmark doubled too. Check out the 1990s proof quarter.

    Thank you, Joe

  • I have a 1969s with doubling on the word "liberty" message me ur email and I will send u a pic.

  • Dude, you have a 50,000 dollar penny and you haven't sold it yet?

  • @anthcybo

Too much sentimental value. It is the coin that let me know to educate myself to find these. I knew almost nothing about varieties when I found it. All I knew was it looked funny, so I researched it and then bought book after book and studied 4-6 hours every day for at least the first 6 months when I found out it was worth over $3,500!! (1995 prices). I might sell it some day...or if I find another one. ;-)

  • i got oneyessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • @MsJDP69 does that mean I don't have to answer your question? LoL

Congratulations! I recommend getting it slabbed by PCGS, ANACS, or NGC, then contacting "Heritage Auctions" to get the most publicity and MONEY....if it looks like the pics in this vid.

  • how the fuck do you tell if its double died

  • @MsJDP69 pretty much like a double stamp or like a shadow. if you see one in person you'll know for sure :D

  • i have one but i cant tell if its double died

  • Thank you for sharing these interesting and educational videos. I've reposted some on FUN Forums.

  • @FUNconventionTV

Thank you very much! I hope more people do the same to help people find these valuable coins.

I will be posting more vids with more verbal explanations soon.

    Thank you again!

  • @LookAtYourChange Wonderful. I've subscribed to your channel so we don't miss anything.

  • i found i 1969 penny but idk it its it can u help me of how to indentify it

  • @therealsup3rstar

Is there a "S" mintmark under the date?

Does it look like the pics in the vid?

Do you have another to compare it to?

Do you have a magnifying glass?

Beyond those questions you would have to answer yes to, I would have to see a good pic of it if you think it is an example like you see at the end of the vid.

    Thank you for watching!.

  • You're welcome and thank you for all the info. Been waiting over a month for the grading service since mint errors take the longest through PCGS. First time submitting a coin, so wasn't sure how it worked, but I should have the coin in hand tomorrow. Can't wait to have it back in my hands!

If I can ever get some high quality pictures, I will be sure to share. If I do let this coin go, I will also be sure to inform you in case you are interested.

    Keep up the great videos!

  • @zombehkev

I am DEFINATELY interested! I would recommend contacting "Heritage Auctions" (online info, search) for the MOST respected and "well known" auctions. I believe that is the best, and SAFEST, way to sell a coin of that rarity. They will also advertise a "special" coin with that rarity. Unfortuanately, I can't compete with those high-rollers that will bid on it...but I am interested in knowing the final sale.

    Thanks again!

  • Just wanted to give you an update on my 1970-S DDO. PCGS gave it a grade of MS62RB. I feel it could be a 63, so may resubmit at some point.

  • @zombehkev

As long as the insurance and shipping costs don't exceed the difference in price from the 62 to 63 grade. You might be better off getting HIGH QUALITY pics and stating, "it could go MS63", in the sale. That is a rare coin and should fetch well over $5,000 in MS62...I haven't followed the sales for that coin in over 5 years, so it could be worth a lot more. Congratulations on a VERY NICE find!

P.S. Thank you VERY much for letting me know!

  • Okay, think I'll do that. BTW can you help me figure uot what that coin is worth I was talkin about below? Thanks

  • BTW, I only got 3 rolls..lol I think im a tad young to go to a bank and do this

  • @LordZeppelin98

Well, then aquire as much knowledge as you can so you learn how to invest, not spend. Hang on to those rolls, it's a good start.... ;-)

  • Your welcome, and thnx for sub to me! Well,i went through a roll last night and i found a few 1937 S's...Are they any good?

  • @LordZeppelin98

If they are in decent shape, about $0.50 to $2. I was getting about 8-9 times face for those rolls in g-vf, which means I only got about $4 for 50 pieces. If you are going to look/collect coins, I would suggest buying a "Red Book" by R.S. Yeoman. It's a "MUST HAVE" book for every collector of US coins.

  • @LookAtYourChange Yeah, I got a red book, read and memorized almost every page, but I just didnt know if prices changed since 2007 (I'm sure they have. Tonight I looked throught a 50's wheat roll and I found one that looks just a little odd to me.... the date is 1956 and the D mintmark seems tobe basically touching the bottom of the 9. Also it looks like the D is almost 'filled in'. I dont know if what i said just made sense...but..well, hope you can help me figure out if its valuable. Tyvm sir.

  • Damn, I have a 1968 one! Btw, I've been collecting for a while now, getting special coins, and old coins, such as 1969 and older. But I just found a 1945 American Penny. It has the wheat on the sides, and it's the oldest coin I have found, but it's the average old coin look and a rusty and defininetly not in mint condition. I could'nt find anything to tell if it was made in Denver, Philidelphia (ETC.). I was just wondering If it was possible to shine it up as much as possible.

    Thanks.

  • @CanadianHockeyGuru the 1945 isn't a valuable cent, with or without a mintmark...about $0.03. You can shine that up with a buffing wheel, since it sounds as though a rubbing cloth won't do it. ;-) Look for the 1969 large date CANADIAN dime! It's worth over $15,000!

  • @LookAtYourChange I have a 1969 canadian dime! But what do you mean large date? I indeed would love 15k!

  • @CanadianHockeyGuru

There is a RARE large date for the 1969 Canadian dime. The date will appear more oval, taller. I don't own one, but you can search the internet for the pics of the two types. Another way to tell if you have one is by comparing two or more 1969 dimes and if they all look the same, you don't have one. It is HIGHLY unlikely you will find one, but if you did....;-)

  • Sorry for all my comments, but I saw u had Led Zeppelin subscribe to you. They're my favorite band...just thought I'd say it's cool lol

  • @LordZeppelin98

No problem! I enjoy answering questions about coins. The more questions I answer, the more knowledge people will gain, and it may help others who read them too. P.S. Watch my "Searching for Doubled Dies and Silver" vid to see a Led Zeppelin shirt. I love Zep's music too!

  • @LookAtYourChange Haha, that's cool, mines the U.S Tour '77.....Hey,this seems pretty cool that you can look thru you change and find rare coins..I gotta lot of wheat rolls that I havent really looked through that well...Can you give me any key dates please? I'd lov to do this with my dad cuz he loved this kinda stuff, but sadly died 2 years ago from leukemia. Please excuse me if my typing is off cuz I just got off football prac and my eyes are filled with sweat. Anyway thnx

  • Also, if it is one of those coins that they hammered down, would that affect value? Once again thanks.

  • @LordZeppelin98

It would ruin the value of a 1930d cent, although it is only worth less than $1 as a circulated example. The 1931-s is a valuable cent in any grade. I hope you find that one!

  • @LookAtYourChange Yeah maybe i will find another on the ground! lol I've found a 1906 IH and the 1930 D I found at my freinds house (yes, I'm 12) but I've been looking throught my old coins looking for some ones that are worth money according to my redbook. Thanks for your knowlegable advice! = )

  • Hi, a while back I found a 1930 D penny on the ground (I think it was a D) and after i cleaned it up a little, it looks like the L in LIBERTY is halfway on the ridge that outlines a penny. So basically,i was wondering if you could help me figure out why it is like that. Thank you

  • @LordZeppelin98

It could be that it is so worn, the rim is more narrow, but I would have to see a pic of it to give you a decision. Also, there are some pennies that were hammered down to the size of a dime to try to pass them off as art or a different coin.

  • @LookAtYourChange I might put up a short video on youtube showing the coin. Thanks for your help

  • hi you may know if i have something are not, i have a 1993 D penny but the D is like a hole look like it got hit to hard but you can see the D good, what do you think??

  • @mrkatsumi1000

It sounds as though it may be a "bubble" in the planchet. I am only guessing because I would have to see a picture to be sure. In 1982 the mint changed to a copper plated zinc cent and they are known for the "bubbling". I hope this may help, but it's only based on common occurances and no photos. Thank you for watching!

  • the mad thing was that i saw a video a couple of dude got his car inpounded and decided it was smart to pay off the fine with pennies, who knows if they had a 1969-S?

  • @okpapereat

Every time I see those vids about people getting rid of pennies, I cringe wondering the same thing. There is also a VERY valuable 1970s DDO(in the thousands of dollars)...and a whole lot of other rare coins!

    TY 4 watching!

  • hey, I found three(3) 1969S penny in our coin jar. Actually, there is another one but it has no letter S. How will I know if the 3 worth something? I don't have magnifying glass.

  • @denlily

Look at them under a bright light. If all three look the same, you don't have one. I showed my example to my last girlfriend, who knew nothing about coins, and she saw the difference. If you are going to look at coins, buy a magnifying glass that is 10x or higher. They are around $15 or less for a cheap one.

    Good luck!

  • @LookAtYourChange

Thanks for info. Sadly, they all look the same to me thru my naked eyes. :((

  • I have about 20,but no DD.Just finding one is hard. They only made about 500Thou. That's a dope in the bucket,to 7or8 billion made each year.

  • @TheHotRod1961

Yes, this is an EXTREMELY RARE variety, which is why it's valuable and DIFFICULT to find, because it was discovered during production and VERY FEW bags were released.

  • I have a 1969 S penny but its the normal one

  • @IStillBlaze

I'm happy the video helped, but sorry to hear you didn't find one.

    Keep searching!

  • I really wish I could find a mint error penny. I have looked at all my zinc pennies for a mint error especially the 1983, 1984, 1995 pennies but with no luck. I'm going to look at my copper pennies to see if I can find any. The only coin I have that is a mint error is a Brockage on a "No date" Jefferson Nickel on the obverse. But that coin was giving to me by my aunt. I have been going to the bank and getting pennies rolls but the best coin I have found so far is a 1944s worth about $7

  • @Joseph9536 Don't give up! I've been searching for over 16 years for the 1970s DDO Lincoln Cent with no luck. I've never found the 1976d DDO Washington quarter either, but I found 1 in my friends pocket change(he sold it on ebay for $50...heavily scratched) and 1 at the coin store when the dealer let me go through his change box (I paid him $350 for it. Plus I told a police officer friend about the '76 DDO quarter and he found one too!

Keep searching and you'll find one eventually!

  • I was just looking through my small Lincoln cent collection which was left to me by my grandfather. Tomorrow I will have it looked at, but I do believe I have found a 1970-s DDO. I have looked at so many magnified pictures to make sure it was not a machine double. But the doubling is so apparent even under 10x magnification. No flat steps due to machine double.

I found your video looking for more videos on the '70-s DDO.

    Great find!

  • @zombehkev

Hello! Based on your comment, it sounds as though you did find the 1970-s DDO. But, in order to verify it is the BIG one, I would need to see the pics or the actual coin. There is another "minor" ddo for that year too. If you can get a close-up of the coin and post the vid, I will be able to tell if it is THE big one. It will be a few months until I make a vid about how to send coins to James Wiles(CONECA) for verification and attributing new discoveries.

    Happy Cherrypicking!

  • @LookAtYourChange

Thanks for the reply. I will be heading to the coin shop tomorrow to have it looked at. I don't have any way of getting a macro view of the coin. I did use "The Lincoln Cent Resource" dot com, to compare my coin to, and it looks exactly like the '70 DDO they have pictured. I am new to numismatics, so have no idea on what grade I would give it, but it is in decent shape.

I will update when I have a second opinion.

Thanks for your videos! Very helpful.

  • @zombehkev Thank you! If they offer you HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS for it, don't take the money. If it's VF or better, it should be worth over $1,000...possibly $5,000+ for a mint state 63. Get it slabbed by PCGS or ANACS(NGC requires a member of the ANA to submit) and put it on ebay or at Heritage Auctions to get the best price for that rare variety.

  • @LookAtYourChange

Just wanted to update you on my find. I went to a trusted coin gallery where I do a bit of business, and three of them confirmed the coin to be a true DDO! I am very excited. My first numismatic/rare coin in my collection. Now I need to have it graded and I need to start going through the rest of my cents and 90% Never thought I would be searching for errors, but it does pay off.

  • @zombehkev

If you ever sell it on ebay(slabbed), let me know so I can bid. I still haven't found that one.

    Congratulations!!!

  • Ohh-My-Gosh. You found that? That is unbelievable! Do you ever plan on selling it? My jaw basically dropped when I saw that. Just phenomenal...I'm seriously speachless. If you could see my face right now you'd laugh your booty off! :o

    -Brian

  • @iGradeMS70 I was collecting coins for about a year-and-a-half before I found this in change. I knew nothing about varieties and Jeff Oxman verified it was the doubled die....that started me on a book reading frenzy 16 years ago, and at one time I had 3/4 of the 3rd edition Cherrypickers Guide memorized. What sucks is the 4th edition is a new numbering system, and now I have to memorize them all over again. ;-)

  • @LookAtYourChange Insane! Well guess what you've got me doing now?! ... Cherrypicking through my entire hoard of copper pennies at 1:30am for DDO's and DDR's. ...Thanks alot! :/ Haha.

    -Brian

  • @iGradeMS70

I still haven't found the 1970-s DDO. Look for that one too! ;-)

Searching cents is always a good thing. Keep up the good work!

  • @LookAtYourChange I'm looking right now. I'm about 1/1000th of the way through my hoard, so this could take a while. Thought I just had a 1980 DDO, but t'was a false alarm... :(

    -Brian

  • @iGradeMS70 good luck finding some DDO and DDR's
