well im not Lebanese and i studied in Lebanon for 4 years at AUB ,and i have to say its the best ever country ,the people are open minded to other culture and so easy to accept others ,They are a multicultural society ,and that gives richness to the country .i have there a lot of friends from all backgrounds and religions and we all liked each other ........im going back next year for my MBA

I am a Lebanese living in Australia too. I was born in Ras Beirut. I never fought for my country but I I fought and am still fighting a different kind of war: a war of survival so that one I can return to my roots and call it home again. There are many reason why I love Beirut. Here are a few:

All citizens of Lebanon are Lebanese but we are not from one single ancestor. we got Syriacs (Maronite, Melkite), Armenians, Sunnis and Shiites, all of us share different ancestors and a different ethnicity. Lebanon is the best country in the world. Screw politics and foreign influence in Lebanon. Forget the Muslim and Christian. The big governments are just torturing the little piece of heaven that lebanese people have until there is no heaven left of it ....Lebanon ones was a glorious country , and it could still be , if big governments let Lebanese people breath for a change <.<

it has affected tourism but if you go u still have the best times of ur life. Lebanese people love to party that last year during the war in summer 2006 people were going to clubs in a lot of areas in Lebanon.I am not joking you. And i just soent a month and half there this summer and i had the best time of my life.
