This song to me was always an allegory for being young and picking up people in bars... But expecting more than a one night stand and subsequently getting your heart broken. Yeah, the allegory most go with for this song is drug related... But "candy talking" could be code for the slimy and sleazy "hooking up" that goes on among the young and wanton. Am I right?
