She's a Diva indeed, but I regret to say that I didn't like the way she sped up the vocal riff on "eyes" at the end of "rose in your eyes" and hands on "move through my hands" etc. ...The way Roberta Flack extends and rides those notes out so sensually is the best part of this song for me.

Yes, she has a magnificent voice and sings this song wonderfully. BUT, why can't she ever seem to sing this song all the way through. In the other version, she cut off the second half of the third verse. In this version, she cut out the third verse entirely. I hate it when she does that. No it isn't! It was written by Ewan McColl in the late 50s for his wife, Peggy Seeger - a folk singer - who sang and recorded it.

Flack's version was a hit but McColl hated it and most of the subsequent cover versions. He's probably spinning in his grave after this truly nauseating version from Celine Dion. Its as false and plastic as her teeth and nose!
