Every scene in this movie is the 'ISH'! I LOVE this movie! All the BEST actors and Marie Dressler is a SCREAM! WOW, no movies like this today! I can't believe that Jean Harlow called her ladies maid a 'NITWIT!' Crazy!
Great line: "Course I remember ya; I seen you at the races!"... They don't write such wonderful throw-away dialogue like that any more...
This is truly a great classic film, one of the early all-star-cast MGM pictures, like "Grand Hotel". By comparison, though, this one is much more amusing.
It was also Harlow's break-through, as the critics at the time were both surprised and thrilled by her performance.
This movie was very good. It shows how they all go through their own obstacles in life. It shows how money really isn't everything and that it doesn't make happiness and that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. It was definitely worth watching.
Jean Harlow is my bed idol!! In this film she just lays in bed ensconsed in silks, furs and diamonds eating chocolates and annoying people on the telephone!! And that absolute killer line of "I read a book once and the man in it said all work in the future will be done by machines" and Marie Dressler says "My dear that's something you don't have to worry about!"

I always thought Jean Harlow looked like a pig smeared in crazy drag queen makeup, but I totally want that bedroom
