  • amazing video , let you know ever thing about your lab top ,my lap top dell studio 1537 processor dual core , can upgrade it to i5 or i7 ?? by the way the port of USB in right side , is not work as right ( and i don't know what is another port up USB port ) , when i connect device via USB is connect and disconnected by himself , how can i change it ?? or can i change to to port USB3 ??? ( the blue one )

what is your opinion my friend ??

  • @hamodyeee Unfortunately the Dell Studio 1537 processor can not be upgraded to an Intel i3, i5 or i7. Also, I believe the USB ports you are referring to on the right side of the computer are the USB and Firewire IO circuit board. This part can find on our website and can be easily replaced (Dell part number: F965C). Please note that when ever you install a USB device, make sure that there are no additional drivers that need to be installed for that device.

  • @dellpartspeople thank you very much my friend , i woud to ask you about port of USB in left side , ( same side of HD port ) can i change this port to USB 3 ??

i don't know why this port not work with me ???

  • @hamodyeee Unfortunately I don't believe that you are unable to replace the USB ports with the USB 3.0 ports That USB port on the left side of the Dell STUDIO 1537 is soldered directly to the motherboard.

  • @dellpartspeople many thanks , the port of USB in left side is not work correctly so can i fix it or not ??

or if we disconnected from motherboard by heating can we replace it ??

  • @dellpartspeople @hamodyeee what you suggest to upgrade my laptop ??my RAM 4 GB DDR2

  • @hamodyeee You are able to upgrade to 4GB of RAM on the Dell STUDIO 1555 / 1557.

  • Hey could I by any chance upgrade my dell studio 1558 i3 processor to an i5? Thx

  • @Mrmath130 Yes, the Dell STUDIO 1558 is compatible with the following processors.

    Intel® Core™ i7-620M, 2.66 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i5-540M, 2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i5-520M, 2.4 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i5-430M, 2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i3-350M, 2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i3-330M, 2.13 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

  • Amazing video I was an early adopter of a studio 1557 and suffered motherboard overheating problems :-( and a stuck slot drive. Your vid helped greatly when repairing. Many thanks and keep up the good work.

  • Good video. However, on the Studio 1558 I worked on, the connection for the fan is on the other side of the motherboard. Everything else was nearly identical.

  • Do you by any chance know if the motherboard from a Studio 1558 will fit into a casing from a 1555?

  • @evogamer05 Yes, the Studio 1555 uses the same base as the 1558. DO a search for "1555 base" to our website to find it.

  • Can I use the exact same steps as demonstrated in this video tutorial to take the MB out from my Dell Inspiron 1564 or does it vary?

  • @040134 It will vary, however; it should be a similar process.

  • @040134 It does vary slightly as each computer has different types of components. The steps should generally be the same, so it might work and it might not.

  • one of the fucking screws are stuck!

  • I appreciate you for this video .

How I can easly clean the fan of my 1557 (with less effor)

For example is it necessary to get out my HD and all screws of the back?

    thanks

  • @borges69 In order to efficiently clean the fan you will need to gain access to it. In order to gain access to it you will need to disassemble the unit.

  • @dellpartspeople Can you (or anyone else for that matter) confirm that I'd have on a Studio 1555 I'd basically have to remove the motherboard to be able to apply new thermal paste / thermal pad to the Processor and GFX heatsinks?

Since a few months my laptop has been having overheating issues during intensive graphics work. Already cleaned out the fans as good as possible with compressed air.

Not sure if I'm willing to go through these staps purely for occasional overheating though

  • @Nenaunir In order to remove the heatsink so that you may clean and reapply thermal compound you would have to completely remove the motherboard.

  • @dellpartspeople Ok thanks for the info. Will just see what I'll do with it :)

  • could i geta better video card for my studio 1558? because i have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570?

and i want to blay somthing like battlefield 3 at least high with a great framerate

  • Is it possible to switch from the D177M motherboard to the C235M motherboard without any issues? Any setup on how to?

  • @neimodn Yes it is possible to switch the Intel board for the ATI board, however; you will need a different heatsink. The part number for the Dell Studio 1555 ATI heatsink is Y140J.

  • @dellpartspeople I've managed to do it already, at first I didn't know about the heatsink so I posted on dell and I'm running the new motherboard right now. :)

  • SO COOL!!! Really Thank you very much for the tutorial!! ^^

  • Thank you for this video.

  • Hello , i had my studio 1555 laptop for 2 years. the fan suddenly stopped working and the laptop overheated ( no signs of a dying fan were given) . How do i check to see if the fan is actually dead [in this case, how to i replace the fan? whats the model to buy?] , or if it maybe a software problem[in this case , how do i test? {no windows alert was given with respect to software error}]. Please, a response is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot....

  • WOW! You act like you've done this before!

  • hi dellpartspeople,

Do you think 1555 processor can upgrade to i5 instead of Core 2 Duo ?

  • @MrAvatar9999 Unfortunately the only processors supported by the Dell Studio 1555 are the:

    - Intel Core™ 2 Duo(800MHz /1066MHz)

    - Intel Pentium Dual Core (667MHz)

    - Intel Celeron (667Mhz)

  • @dellpartspeople Hello, which processors are supported by the Dell Studio 1558

  • @Simplytemi The Dell Studio 1558 will support the following processors:

    Intel® Core™ i7-620M, 2.66 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i5-540M, 2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i5-520M, 2.4 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i5-430M, 2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i3-350M, 2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

    Intel® Core™ i3-330M, 2.13 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache

  • this took me 7 hrs straight to disassemble and put it back together again, without looking at the manual or previous experience. If you wanted to clean or replace the cooling fan, you gotta disassemble it completely! not very smart ... u may damage expensive components to change a 20 bucks fan....

  • the top of my laptop fan dell studio 1558 madea burning smell can help me that is wrong with my laptop

  • The graphics chip set is hard wired on the mother board itself and can not be replaced with out replacing the entire mother board.

  • Where is the grapich card?

  • Nice piece of professional work...I think these videos will make hardware technicians redundant :)

  • I just just came across you guys video and the tuts are really damn good. Slow and well edited enough to save time. I was desperately looking for a CPU replacement vid for a 1558. Is there any video I can watch to take me majority of the way?

  • @MrTizzzzzle Absolutely, just go to our You Tube channel and search '1558 Motherboard' and that should take you to the video you are looking for.

  • @dellpartspeople Okay, 1 last quesiton, the cpu isn't soldered on is it?

  • @MrTizzzzzle No the CPU is not soldered on to the mother board, it is held in place by a CPU socket.

  • @dellpartspeople Really appreciate the response. I'm watching the video over an over again to gain the courage to attempt replacing my CPU myself. I've done the ram replacement and the only prob I ran into was not updating the BIOS beforehand. It's crazy seeing the inside now though. Because of these tuts, everything looks so familiar. Thanks!

  • @theMyst1 Unfortunately we do not sell the connector you are looking for by itself, however; we do sell replacement motherboards for the STUDIO 1558.

  • damn good video :)
