I was speaking with Neil Tennant a few weeks back and mentioned this performance, he said they had to do 2 takes because Bowie fluffed up!

I maintain; David Bowie is the greatest artist this country has ever produced. I'm not sure whether he is my personal favourite (as much as I love him), but damn, sometimes you just got to admit it when somebody is a genius. I was about 7 when this was first broadcast. Been looking for it for ages, thanks for putting it up. As I recall, this was the same night as the Michael Jackson/Jarvis Cocker "incident".
