  • Buncha joikoffs.

  • Yowza look at those titties bounce !

Kojaks thinking " Who loves yea baby ? "

Back in the 70's no contest between Farrah and Lynda.

    Shazam !

  • It amazes me, remembering these shows, that they wouldn't have have something like this again, since the viewers would eat it up! I guess since the networks don't "own" the stars anymore, it would cost too much!

Alas, you are stuck with "Battle of the Reality TV Stars" instead. :-/

  • love Linda Carter!

  • lol Lynda Carter was like "i didnt know Cosell was wearing a toupee..." really? who couldnt tell????

  • I had seen Hegyes on the 2011 "TV Land Awards" and he looked way different now than he did back in 1976.

  • @virnman--I *thought* so!

  • Does Hegyes drop an F-bomb @3:12?

  • @hendu13 Yes...sounds like he says "fucking tough" right there. Far out!!

  • I can remember watching these in the 1970's, it makes one recall when network TV had real stars, for their shows, and not the socalled reality shows today. What ever happened to women like Lynda Carter on TV? Has anyone else noticed the women just keep on getting more plan looking?

  • @htrrz geesh, most of the shows on tv suck these days. NOTHING like it was back then. Heck, I hardly watch tv anymore it's got so terrible.

  • I wish they had HD back in those days.

  • Damn, Lynda carter is just so built!!

  • Bobby Hedges and Kaplan have the biggest Jewfros i've ever seen.

  • gotta love @2:08 lynda carter's boobs jiggling as she climbs up and adjusts her top

  • Their soldiers came, not on foot nor horseback, but by jet and limousine, as befitted their station.

They came, ?girthing? for battle to hurl themselves against one another in mortal combat.......

and then @ 0:23 they got into a 15 car pile up because nobody paid attention to the 4 way stop signs.

    (8^)

    (8^)

    (8^)

  • wish I could go back in time...my family would all watch this together, it was a big event in our house. Times are not the same. Kids now have nothing to look forward to, they get instant gratification with DVD's, DVRS, internet etc. These were the best years.

  • Adrian barbo Linda carter and the Hot chick from Little House on the Prairie ...the Producers new how to produce a show in the seventies.. TnA is where its at... Thats why I like the Spanish news

  • @Rodney21a I agree 101%, the directors/producers they knew what they were doing when these hot women were matched up with see-through wet suits. Nip-slips everywhere on that show. One of the most exciting reality shows back then. All natural TnA. Linda C. is a beautiful woman.

  • Oh, how I wish they had this today. But I'm sure today's "stars" wouldn't be as good. Or maybe they would.

  • Those where great times with even greater stars - true - talented - nice

  • I have every season of the battle of the netwrok stars on DVD just contact me

  • @uncascrog i would love to see these shows again

  • I truly miss watching these type of shows on TV I loved Battle of The Network Stars!!

  • Cosell was the greatest ever.

Made this sound as exciting as The Superbowl.

I guess he didn't wear a tupee after all. Looked real when it was wet.

  • I would also like to find the whole show. I was there and I'm trying to find myself in some audience shots.

  • does anyone have the whole Battle Of The Network Stars show??

  • Damn! Why isn't this in HD?

  • Lynda Carter, Farrah Fawcett and Adrienne Barbaeu on the same show?

    Damn!

  • i use to always root for robert conrads team i liked his egotistical enthusiasm but i loved buck rogers also so i rooted for gil gerards team, those were really good times.

  • these are the best of times. about 12 years old dreaming of coming to america , now i'm here !

  • Howard did a great job announcing. Loved the "lustress Lynda Carter" line. A classic as she adjusts her swim suit

  • What ever happened to Richard Hatch....he was such a cutie.....after BattleStar G......he literally disappeared.

  • @curlyfry44 curly, Richard hatch got really depressed after battlestar was cancelled, but he kept working in low budget films and doing bit parts on tv. Around the beginning of the 90's he turned his attention to producing and in 97 he came really close to restarting the battlestar galactica franchise as the lead character and director but at the time, producers thought battlestar was too old a concept (they dropped the ball on that one right)

  • I loved watching this show....never missed an episode. I thought it was a cool idea to have network celebrities compete against each other, one of the first reality shows I guess....it's fun watching these old clips, bring back memories of 1977/78.

  • Lynda Carter = boing schwing schwing boing schwing boing schwing

  • I think it would be hilarious if they did this again.

  • I love it!!!

  • I had almost forgotton how beautiful Lynda Carter was in her day ... Mind you she still is a gorgeous woman.

  • Howard's rug glue was loosened by the champagne.

  • Ahh, man, what great memories! I remember sitting in the living room watching this with my family, and when Lynda showed you those massive jugs,I heard my Dad let out a loud sigh! Of course I was nieve to the fact! Thanks For The Mammories!!!!

  • Some of the most beautiful lady stars of all times. No one on television in the last 30 years rivals Lynda Carter and Farrah Fawcett. The only one who even came remotely close was Pam Anderson, and a lot of that was surgically enhanced (not that I'm complaining).

  • "Dick Hatch" LOL! *Lynda C. is female perfection...

  • Pardon my girlish glee, but, thanks for the brief glimpse of Hal Linden in his shorts, yowza! You go, Barn ;-) I was about 12 when these guys were famous and everybody watched these silly battles, they were hot water cooler talk the next day, I tells ya true. How far we've come, eh? Thanks for the blast from the past!

  • I was about 12 as well.

I always wanted ABC to win because all my fav shows were on there.

  • good fun! we looked forward to this so much when we were little. now it's all silicone and cursing.

  • TV shows were so much better back then.

    So were the stars.

I want to go back in time.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill Yes, the shows were, and yes, the stars were as well. I want to go back also, because, just about everything about the present days sucks now !!!!!

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill Hell, I even miss Howard Cosell...

  • The Coke. Think of the Coke.........

  • @Tamrons tam, it was the late 70's cocaine and disco went hand and hand. Abd celebs got the top quality before it trickled down to the everday masses.

  • 2:13..........the ssschluuurp heard 'round the world.

  • god she's beautiful, lynda carter, lover her. damn i'm thirty years late

  • cosell was really good natured and funny here, miss the dude... howard got one up too on giff and dandy don when he had l carter go up & kiss him... cant even imagine the level of partying that nite that went on after this.. in the '70's in hollywood casting directors would hand you cocaine on a platter during readings.

  • Welcome to Nipopolis and Cameltopia! ;)

  • Lynda Carter.... pretty good swimming for a hard-core smoker!

  • Perhaps the reason shows pretty much suck today is they don't contests like this to bring them together in friendly harmony...

  • Amazing special! The golden age of television (for me personally).

  • OMG, I loved this show!

  • I'm assuming the second lap for CBS was MacKenzie Phillips.

  • OH Not on the toup!!! LOL!!! Yes, Lyda better had won her lap...she's WW after all.

So what were the other team lineups?

  • Adrien barbeau and Lynda Carter in swimsuits?

    *heads explode*

  • ahh my Linda Carter poster made my wrist sore in the 70's!

  • LOL!!!!!!!

  • Was that the one of her standing in the middle of a country road tugging at her blue jeans in a tied top?

I was at a crossroads at 14 deciding between that poster and the Cherly Tiegs pink bikini one. Ah, the good ol' days of K-Mart. :)

  • I feel lucky to have been a kid in the 70's. Great tv shows. Today's tv is total garbage.

  • The Gloden Age of T.V when it was fun. Will never see this again great post!

  • god, i remember watching that with my mom when i was 12 or so and turning red! lynda cater and sdrienne barbeau together, wow!

  • Anyone out there know what group did the music for the beginning of the show where the limos meet up and also where the stars pictures are being shown?Ive been trying to track it down for years.

  • it's from 1976,The Walter Murphy Band. The track is "Midnight Express" from the "A fifth of Beetohven" album. Very 70's disco. Walter Murphy does the score for the Family Guy these days. Hope that is helpful.

  • Do you know the song playing when they first show Lynda and Telly Savalas? it also sounds familiar.

  • I finally know the name of this song...It's Midnight Express by Walter Murphy *the guy who made a Fifth of Beethoven*...Now I'm trying to find out tat second song...sounds a bit like the Crusaders.

  • Oops how did I miss your posts, dj99surf...you mean I could have BEEN had this song by now. LOL

Anyways do you know the name of the song that plays VERY briefly after the first time they play Midnight Express, when Lynda is running through the obstacle course and then they show that quick glimpse of Telly Savales before the two cartoon helicopter collide? It sounds like the Crusaders.

  • Nevermind...I couldn't wait for an aswer and looked through my archives of the Crusaders...yes that song I was referring to is called Spiral from their Those Southern Knights lp. I KNEW I had heard it before.

  • "Lustruss Linda Carter." Fucking funny as hell.

  • Carter boobage at 2:12. I thought I'd never see that again. Thanks, 'tube.

  • wonder woman!!!!!!!!!\

    what pillows, eh?

  • You got that right!!! I'm gonna play 212 in the pick 3, but I'd rather pick her two...

  • hahaha!!!

  • someone add more from the 8o's i loved it as child! please

  • They should do this today. Imagine, the cast of desperate housewives vs. cast of CSI vs. cast of heroes. vs. cast of queer eye

  • I think you mean the cast of House, right?

  • Does anyone have the 1996 version of Battle of the Network Stars?

  • now thats good television.

  • I'll bet she had a lot to live up to going out there...she did play WW...all the poor little kids who don't know the difference would've been heartbroken if she hadn't. :D No pressure....

  • Lynda said later on in an interview that he didn't want champagne on him because he was wearing a toupé (wig) and that he was angry with her afterwards. She said "I had no idea, and I felt awful afterwards."

  • NBC and ABC had to be well ahead going into the tug-of-war....CBS had the Hulk!

  • lynda carter had the body and face of a goddess

  • We need this show today!

  • I was hoping to see Hal Linden in gym shorts before I died.

  • Awesome! Nothing else to say. Thanks.

  • Woah, anyone have clean footage of Lynda messing with her bathing suit?

  • Cosell beats them all...

  • Yep, what a piece lol.

  • Farahs got nothing on Lynda.

  • They need to get this show going again, it was so stupid it was great!

  • Joel Stein is my love child.
