I heared that she was put down after she ran against a car which was parked in her enclosure.
She seemed to have so much pain, she cried loudly and I'm kind of glad that I was not there at this time. I probably would have killed that guy who put the car into the enclosure.
@Otjiwarongo84 She was moved into the Lifeline with Pride actually, so it wasn't in this enclosure. She ran into one of the research vehicles while hunting. It was really really horrible, but not the fault of the people driving the car. They felt completely horrible. It never should have happened. Her burial was beautiful though, she was very much loved and honored.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind,be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on."
"You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared.
this is amazing. the bond between you and Duma... I'm sorry for your lost.

Aww, so sweet. I always wondered whether cheetahs could purr. Thank you for sharing this clip.

@TheSteelpony
Hi, thank you! In fact, cheetahs are the only big cats that purr. Lions don't, leopards don't.
They can't. ;)

@Otjiwarongo84 Cougars also purr. Of course you don't have them where you're at..lol. But that's pretty much it for the really big cats.

That's amazing. When were you at Harnas? I'm looking to go during February/March next year and wondered about how the weather is like then.

@katavdan
Hi,
I was there last December (2009).
It was sooo wonderful there! You really can look forward to an extraordinary time! :)
The weather... hmm... should be nice, but always take a sweater, long pants, warm socks etc with you!
