The raygun prop on this OL ep was the larger prototype ray gun pistol vr desighn for the later ABC & NBC TV networks Invaders & Star Trek Sci/Fi shows whom the prop masters decided to use the basic shape of the gun in a more smaller hand pistol size with a few cosmetic differences, made of a composit shell like the glock, notice how the scientist @ the end zaps his driver generator then destroy the weapon as if its a plastic model car & spilling out & destroying the disentagrator circut pieces.

This epp to me illustrated what the ambitous mind can achieve with a little help from above, however that contactee scientist who developed that dissintergrator gun weapon would have caused a great danger to a world that's not ready for that kind of portable warfare pwr capability unleshed to a warring world mindset & who came to this shocking conclussion thus distroying his project after the grip of the aliens mind control wore off him, one of the original OL's best epps in my opinion.

This is terrifying. I thought "The Twilight Zone had some scary shit, but "Outer Limits" was something else! I wasn't born when any of these anthology shows was on, but it can scary you then, and it can do it to you today. It's timeless. Sadly, there will never be another like this.

The funny thing about the Outer Limits,was it was well written with a limited budget,and the production team cut even more money from the budget the next season and took all of the incidental and title music from the show to use in other ABC shows like 12 o'clock high,the fugitive and the invaders and let the Outer Limits just die out,because,they figured it wasn't doing well in the ratings.

The Outer Limits had an opening and closing narration to almost every episode — the "Control Voice" (Vic Perrin) -- and distinctive music, originally by Dominic Frontiere, listed as a "Production Executive"; the second season featured a new theme by Harry Lubin.
