GM produces some of the greatest full-size SUVs ever! Ford, Toyota, Chrysler etc. don't even come close to what they have to offer--in my opinion. And I've always thought the full-size category is what they excel in.

The best SUV's on the market right now (according to professional car reviewers) are the Durango/Grand Cherokee, Range Rover, Explorer, Highlander and Land Cruiser. The Escalade never even made it close to the top in any review.

Its also quiet clear that you know ever little about the Escalade. Take for example your comment on "appalling efficency". Despite being power by a 6.2L 403 HP V8, that can propel the vehicle to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, the esclade can match or beat all other V8 Full sized suvs in EPA mileage figur. Its on par with some midsize suvs from europe.

I had a few excellent Japanese cars prior to that and they were perfect even up to 150k miles. I agree that German cars are better in some respects. I would have agreed with you if you said German cars are better engineered, designed, styled... but instead, you said reliability, which is the one weakness of German vehicles.

@carloshisquierdo The only reason GM made the best full sized SUV's is b/c Ford was the only other manufacturer to make a true full-sized SUV (Expedition, Excursion, Navigator). Ford realized that the market for such a car was extremely small and not worth the effort. The best SUV's on the market right now (according to professional car reviewers) are the Durango/Grand Cherokee, Range Rover, Explorer, Highlander and Land Cruiser. The Escalade never even made it close to the top in any review.

@marshknute Im sorry, but if you think Ford and GM are the only two companies to make a "true" full-sized suv, you clearly know little about the segment. Its also quiet clear that you know ever little about the Escalade. Take for example your comment on "appalling efficency". Despite being power by a 6.2L 403 HP V8, that can propel the vehicle to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, the esclade can match or beat all other V8 Full sized suvs in EPA mileage figur. Its on par with some midsize suvs from europe.

@Mowner3 I own a BMW 3 series coupe. It's a nice car with excellent handling and styling. It's 2 years old and so far hasn't given me any trouble. I had a few excellent Japanese cars prior to that and they were perfect even up to 150k miles. I agree that German cars are better in some respects. I would have agreed with you if you said German cars are better engineered, designed, styled... but instead, you said reliability, which is the one weakness of German vehicles.

Instead of critically reviewing this car, they are blatantly promoting it by quoting the same self-serving shit offered by the factory. They always focus on the positive and always give every car great marks so that they will score advertisement money from all the big3 instead of form their own opinion. This complete lack of criticism of these massively inferiour cars allowed the big3 to get away with shameless crap for decades.

@ratmtbola The Caddy's flash is there and noticible but not too much, it's like wearing a rolex wrist watch with your Armani suit, a perfect but yet classy contrast to the clothing. Old upper middle class housewives drive German SUV's and Lexuses. The Escalade is what pushed away its old image and target market.
As for the rims arguement, what people do their own cars is there business they do it to European cars as well
PS The quality arguement was shot down years ago after the studies.

@ratmtbola I don't understand the ignorance surrounding the American cars, unless it's not ignorance but just bias and bigotry twords American cars. The Quality argument is over esp with Cadillac. According to multiple studies by JD Power, KBB, Consumer Reports, and many more Cadillac matches all of it's German rivals or beats them in all comprable quality tests and holds a reliability rating edge over all of them. Not only that but Cadillac's customer satifaction ratings have spiked.

@Greendude33 Pha. Cadillac doesn't beat any of the German carmakers in terms of quality. The Escalade is maybe on par with the German SUVs. But that's because the SUVs are by far the least reliable cars in Audis/BMWs/Mercs lineups.
And calling an Escalade "classy" is fucking ridicolous. It's ANYTHING but classy. A Mercedes is classy. A BMW or an Audi is classy. A Range Rover is classy. An Escalade is NOT classy. It's the car for gangster rappers and 30" rims.
