  • that was the loftiest thing i've ever seen.

  • I can do a triple!! :D Work on your technique a little more and master that double before you move on though!! The problem is that the more spins you add to a toss the more dirty it will look with more people added...

  • That pole looked super light and easy to control. Is that 6ft?.....

  • is that a 6 foot pole? Doesn't look like it from the vid

  • hun u gotta be strong

  • Hahahaha thats funny, i taught myself how to do a double too but like i looked it up before doing it and i was the frist freshman this year to do a double before being taught. . . good job!!!!:D but we use the TALL flags to do them not the little ones but thats kool lol

  • Hah. Yeah. You did a double, good for you. Not that hard.

  • she didnt do anything special its just a different pole

  • That was the easiest toss ever. Fag.

  • Dont jump when you toss trust me it dosent go up anyy higher

  • A double?I know most directors teach it differently but I was taught to put my hand into the silk about a dollar in and to keep feet FIRMLY on the ground. But I like how you ended it there.I wasn't expecting that! :) pretty good for being self-taught and a beginner :)

  • I love how everyone in colorguard always has to put their opinion on videos like this. They all want to think that they are right and such...honestly different instructors call it different things...also think about how well you did a toss when you first began colorguard? Most people don't automatically do the right thing. You get better as you go.

  • I don't know why everyone is calling that a double, she doesn't rotate her wrist at the beginning, just chunks it up, count the rotations, it's a SUPER high one and a half.

Anyways, everyone commenting are assholes, she said she was just beginning, I'd like to see a vid of the rest of you guys when YOU first started,

  • @Talim95 thank you for noticing it wasnt a double and i agree she said she just started and she taught herself thats pretty good for teaching herself (:

  • that was pretty cool how u did a double and a back scratcher and ended it with a right/left (i wasn't paying attention to which shoulder) shoulder xD

  • uhmm that was a single and a half people not a double?

  • i can do a double and i'm a freshman lol. but our colour guard is expected to be super awesome so yeah lol.

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D OMG wooow :D ive never seen that before !!

  • damn, lots of comments. this was when i first started and i self taught myself. i don't care if this has the wrong name. I was having fun and enjoying what i was doing with my friends.

  • @musicislife2512 thats good for teachin yourself! (: (no sarcasm intended) i taught myself everything i know too so yeah i know where youre comin from

  • wow that was insanely hard

  • To those of you who are saying it's not a big deal, or that it's really easy, just shut up. I remember when I was first learning a double and I finally did it, even though it was messy, but it felt really good. Yes, she could have done better, but colorguard isn't always done for others liking what you do, but for yourself liking what you do.

  • @BeatlesRok247 AMEN to that!

  • lol i know EXACTLY what you mean by your color guard being newer. mine used to be 4 foot flags doing nothing but flutters and being way out of sync. hahaha but now were kick ass.

  • we call it double concert toss but mine spin 3 times in the air

  • if thats 5 1/2 pole, you should hold at first tape and quarter into the silk. if its a 6 foot pole, left hand splitting tapes and quarter into the silk.

  • this is not that hard. lol.

  • i would recommend buying a wgi basics video for your color guard because that IS NOT how you toss a double on flag...

  • we did a three spin toss, it's not that big of a deal.

  • this is freakin amazing though!

  • good but the jump

  • wow.. you did a messy double... congratulations

  • @pastorpana91 wow.. you are so cool.. congratulations.

  • @musicislife2512 thanks :) im just a tad confused why you thought it necessary to put on youtube.

  • @pastorpana91 Have you seen some of the stuff here on youtube? I'm sure this is much better than someone burping the star spangled banner. And the whole point of being in guard is to have fun, so who are you to break her down over something this old anyways?

  • @iheartguard09 first of all breaking her down may be a bit of an overstatement. second of all if you're going from the "who are you" angle, who are you to tell me what i can and can't say?

  • @pastorpana91 I wasn't telling you that you couldn't state your opinion, I was just telling you that you don't really need to be mean

  • Double revolution?

  • Yeah, that's a pop toss and a one and a half. Nice little flourish at the end though :]

  • Wow, that was actually pretty good(:

Except you jumped, but I do that too. Lol.

  • 2 spin tosses are easy with a well weighted 5 1/2 poles. is that what you're using?

  • soooo easy. try that with a heavier pole

  • WOW u did a single and a half!!!!!!! NO WAY. This is stupid

  • Its not that hard, I got it my first week, now as captain trying to teach it to the new girls. Thats hard xD

  • I can do this...and I've only been doing it for 5 months. its not that hard

  • i agree with jon

  • THAT iiS RETARTED

  • You need to push down more on the pole with your left hand. I didn't see your hand move at all. :/

  • I'm sorry, but omg. You do NOT toss from the tap! Dollar bill in! and don't jump when you toss, but don't worry, I do that sometimes too :) other than that it's looking good ^^

  • Um, this is called a double. And it would help you to get momentum if you started with a stir.

  • Actually, this is a "pop toss" and it's only a single and a half.

  • Not bein' a hater.. but TOASTER POO BEAR!! or hallways or what ever you call it there..

  • I can toss my flag and spin two times, then catch it. this isnt anything special

  • a double shouldn't go that high. and correction on this...majorettes twirl. colorguard spins.

  • Colorguard wish they could twirl ;)

  • @1000altoids: ummm we spin, not twirl

  • Then why do state solo and ensemble competitions refer to sabre, rifle, and flag performances as "twirling"? lol get over yourselves, it's just a word. X)

  • wow.. that was kind of a worthless video seeing as you have to be able to toss a double in order to make color guard.. WOOHOO!

  • not necessarily...I had never picked up a flag when I first joined guard...my school was BEGGING for people, they took anybody they could get

  • ummm thats not how u toss a flag and u toss with ur right hand in the middle of the silk and ur left hand is going on the tape in the middle of the pole..............

  • dont jump, worry about your free hands and be more solid...

but you have really good height

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

you did a toss that everyone in colorguard is capable of doing!!!!

  • pretty (: but work on the hight

    and free arms :D

    gratee!

  • This is regular in my school,

    We call it a double,

    Majorettes call things 'Spins'

  • we just call this a normal toss in my flag corps...two spins in the air is normal.

but uh...watch your free arm! =)

  • lol I think most people call this a double

  • just kidding, what you did isnt a lofted, but doing a lofted toss works SOOO Much better, cuz it goes high without any effort.

  • this is cool, we call it a lofted into an angel, but yeah like the said, dont jump, i got my flag and went out and did this, its amazingly easy. lol.

  • wow, this video is old.

i know what i fucking messed up on.

    so please, tell me again,

    in case i forgot. :]

  • aka... double.

  • yeah it is called a double and don't jump or double prep. it not a hard toss to do

  • um ya... thats actually not that amazing of a move its pretty basic.

  • ew.

  • idiot

  • Try metal, not pvc.

    :/

    3/5

  • that looked like a 3.

  • A double with a 5 foot? Try experimenting with weights and you can do a triple. Just don't jump, k?

  • wow. all i can say.

  • that's it?

  • we did that with seven foot flags dont jump wen u toss it

  • dont jump

and that was a pretty easy double. esspecially with a 5 foot flag.

you should upgrade to a 6 foot.

  • wow! well, you didnt set right but that was cool. i need to practice my double spin for marching season( not football season) lol!

  • try not too jump, & that was a pop toss, it was too easy.

  • btw its called a double not a two spin

  • You shouldn't jump when tossing. And, yeah that was a pop toss. not a prep toss.

  • that was a pop toss. fyi. not a standard prep toss. those are harder.

  • that was a off 3 toss but your going to be good!

  • Omg that was effing crazy!!!! I can BARELY get one and a half spins! o.o Do you even have any weights in that flag? I mean jesus...the silks weight comes into play too....O.O im just...wow..

  • dont jump and try to do it.

  • another thing to look at is to not jump for a prep with your double. believe it or not the jump doesnt help

  • funky funky free hands and carch more solid.. and repeating the same thing the others said break the bad habits...

  • thts wayy wrongggg

  • break ur bad habbits

  • It's easy because your pole was heavily weighted & the silk was lightweight lame. Bet you can't do it with a nylon silk. LOL

  • cool!it took me forever to learn how to a double and catch it!!googd job!

  • It seems like your head bobbed a tad? if that was true it means you jumping which is something you should work to overcome. and try and put more snap into it soit spins more, like slam that hand into the air :)

  • well, everyone. thats now i learned to toss. if you have ever seen my team, you would relize how good that is. and its a practice flag. we just started our colorguard, so we dont have that much stuff right now. and thanks to habersham for your comment. its very true..and thanks to tlsx07 for the constructive critisism, not the "hey you suck im gunna tell you what you did wrong"

  • @musicislife2512 Just ignore them. They're all jerks.

  • I love how all of you that make rude comments have so many videos out there showing us how to correctly toss. Oh, and I love how you all are drum corps instructors, too.

  • try to practice more

    body control :)

    other than that, very nice.

  • your tossing wrong

  • ish...whys everyone being so harsh?! yeah...it might have been kinda lame, but at least she can do it. (although i agree with the whole not jumping while tossing...its a bad habit)

  • i really need to break that habbit too

  • first off, no one likes overhyped videos. second, what size pole is that? a 5???

  • ok what size pole is that. 5 or 6. cuase it looks uber tiny. lol

  • yeah your body shouldnt move when you toss it.

  • wow not that amazing..sry but it would b amazing if u threw a 3...not a 2

  • i guess your name fits you.

  • got that right
