  • Man, I wish there was an album version of this song! I like the original version soooo bad, but i also love brandon boyds voice for this song. Does anybody know if there is a "better" version of it? (although i love this one too, of course!^^)

  • @FlydraJewel no better verison i'm afraid :(

  • Incubus is my favorite band of all time....but massive attack had fearless on their breath, both amazing bands.

  • sorry incubus but you did not deliver on this one : /

  • you guys know this is a cover of massive attacks song from the mezzanine album right? lol

  • Wow, no wonder incubus dosen't get any airplay anymore,.....THIS FUCKING BLOWS!! .......Incubus, you had a good run and made a valiant effort, however, it's time to hang up the mic and the instruments. God I hate college pop. Ok, going back to watch Within Temptation.....a band that can actually hold their own a play some good music.

  • @missinugianna you can never judge the quality of a live set by a dodgy low unmixed bootleg and to be quite honest, in my opinion within temptation have less talent than that of any member of incubus (but thats my opinion), if you dont like incubus anymore then why listen to them doing covers, dont go listening to things with the preconcieved idea that youre gonna dislike it, thats not cool

  • @toolrockhard What? Are you fucking kidding me? This is exactly what's wrong with music, it needs to be "Mixed" to sound good. Then what the fuck is the point of live music? Fucking retarded ass logic. If an "unmixed bootleg" can't convince me that it was good then nothing will.

  • hahaha its good and all but that has to be the worst guitar ad libbing ive ever heard xD bahaaaaaaaaaaa

  • ESTE COVER NO LO HICIERON PARA QUE TE GUSTE YA CALLATE!!!! Y LA VERDAD ES QUE A MI ME ENCANTA :D

  • Terrible

  • ke asko

  • weak!

  • Your love, love, is a verb, love is a doing word, here in my room

  • i use to love this song soo much, and now all i can think about is House whenever i hear this :(

  • Comment removed

  • @MorningGloree99 That's a good thing man. House is a good tv show and Massive Attack featuring Elizabeth Fraser is a good thing too..... Win Win!

  • @Vaylence i completely agree. brandon's voice is stellar, incubus is stellar, massive attack is stellar. everything that has to with this song is stellar. great cover nonetheless!

  • I bet if they did a studio recording of this it'd be stellar.

  • venezuelan flag - ignorant

  • It's a venezuelan flag - ignorant.

Enjoyed this version, Newton Faulkner tries to make it too much of a ballad for me - massive attack's original is yet to be bettered

  • Newton faulkner OWNS this cover, no one will do it better than him, much love to incubus though. one of fave bands of all time!

  • so, if the cover song are generally better than the original ones, or almost completely different, this one is just the (ugly made) same version

  • Is not a russian flag..it's a venezuela flag!

  • Comment removed

  • why is there a russian flag on stage?

  • @green6390 maybe cause they are playing in russia?

  • this is probably one of the few songs incubus should not cover. but i do appreciate how it seems as though they did it because they love the song rather than wanting to blow everyone away with it.

a lot of people suggest that incubus should cover jeff buckley. i'd be interested to hear the result but i think it would be a disappointment as well.

  • al fondo, la bandera de las siete estrellas de la libertad

back there, the seven stars flag of freedom

  • what a lame version,, ah it shows,, Incubus -_-

  • @oOxPookyxOo lol and you favorited 50 cent and rihanna. i just threw up

  • I din´t like this cover... Incubus singing Massive Attack Song?... No please... Show us your respect Incubus...

Very Ugly cover... What did say 3D and Dady G?

  • @infinitte your dumb

  • About half the versions I hear of this, it sounds like "Feathers on my breath" instead of "Fearless on my breath"

Anyways, if you gave this backing track to 100 current/new artists, they wouldn't come close to writing a vocal melody like the original. So haunting, floaty, and slightly twisted.

  • Gonzalez. Excuse me. Lol

  • Everyone says "ARRRRGGGHH stop covering this song!! You're making my ears bleed." Well, personally, I see it as the covering artist showing their love/admiration for the song. "This is a song we should've wrote"? Sounds like love to me. I guess you just have to have a taste for whomever is covering said song because I think this version is beautiful. But I love Incubus. I also like the José Garcia cover too, though. It's sorta mean hearted to criticize someone for doing something they love.

  • booooo

  • I know this doesn't seem like it makes sense lyrically, but I can assure you after much research that the lyric is "feathers on my breath" not "fearless on my breath" and the last line is "you're stumbling a little" not "you're stumbling in the dark". Nonetheless, this song is awesome. I kind of like this version to be honest, but it pales in comparison to the original. Vocals are great in this version though. An absolutely amazing and deep song.

  • está bueno pero....... el de José Gonzalez está más pulento (genial)

[it's good and all but........ the one that José Gonzalez made is awesomeeee!!!]

  • wowwwww esta genial..

  • stop covering the song haha

  • did he say "this is a song we originally wrote" ?

  • @dredotcom25 i think he said "this is a song that we shoulda wrote"

  • @wielderofdrumstix ah.... that makes more sense.. thanx

  • @dredotcom25 he said we wish we wrote

  • amazing!!

  • I'd love to hear Maynard from Tool singing this !

  • @zzsharka

    me too!!!!

  • @zzsharka :O he would be fucking awesome

  • @zzsharka No bullshit!!..

  • @zzsharka TOOOOOL

  • @zzsharka really well said! Maynard on an APC like soundtrack...

  • @zzsharka YAY! a fellow Tool + Incubus fan.

  • @zzsharka I can imagine it being much much slower, and a lot darker too.

  • @bucketboy63 Yeah true, have you heard his duet with Tori Amos ? If not you might wanna check it out : )

  • @zzsharka it would be fucking trippy, I think A Perfect Circle would be more suited to it.

  • @mykezakjd True !

  • "here's a song we wish we wrote"

  • "We recently wrote"?

  • @dotsunmoon he says "we wish we wrote"

  • @austinv785 Thanks.

  • @dotsunmoon that they wished they wrote i think he said.

  • Did he say "Here's a song we recently wrote"?

  • no me digas q canto eso en el pop festival de caracas!????

  • @HaditaBlue No, no la cantó!!!!

  • they should have this in their style and not copie the style of massive attack =(

  • i want a studio version.

  • I loooove Incubus. But this... the original song is soo much better.

  • sucks...

  • I think he is doing good on this . nice try .

  • shitty cover

  • @wsaer56

then don't comment on the video

  • @avanro7101 that statement makes no sense. It's called feedback

  • @Muzikman127 you're condoning going on youtube and slandering vids you hate? I mean i get the whole freedom of speech thing, but it just seems like a waste of time.

besides, "shitty cover" isn't really feedback, it's a criticism. Feedback is followed by advice or suggestions.

  • i respect anyone who covers this song, because it means they appreciated it. there's no way that incubus' manager made them do this song. anyway, beautiful rendition without being an all=-feeling woman.

  • It somehow feels...wrong to cover this song.

  • okay, we all know this aint their best. but c'mon it's just a song that the band and especially brandon like. there just having fun and trying to be different. give the guy a break. incubus are one of the best modern rock bands hands down.

  • I think Brandon does a pretty awesome job on this song. Faulkner does the best version though!

  • Newton Faulkner COVER is Better

  • STOP!

  • It takes serious guts to attempt a cover of Liz Fraser's vocals on any song -- if there is a heaven she will be the soundtrack -- but taken for what it is, this isn't a bad tribute. I've heard far worse.

  • @gilgamesh79 since it's also pretty difficult to cover Brandon Boyd's vocals on any song, I guess it works out

  • I want to thank all the good people who insulted this cover.

You are right. This doesn't make sense to me. No incubus.. no... I used to like you.

  • @MilkOfSuccess If you actually liked them, you would be okay with anything they want to do... to like Incubus means to like music they play... or at least respect it.

  • @Cheesenipp6

I always look back on comments like that and say "why did I say such a douchy thing...?"

Strike that post. What I MEANT to say was, "I think it was a mistake for Incubus to cover this song as it is not a very well done cover and many hardcore Massive Attack fans. Also I just think it's a terrible cover... too terrible"

  • @MilkOfSuccess Alright, thanks haha. Yeah, I'll agree with you on that... this cover definitely isn't the best. Then again, you have to recognize the fact that they're just having fun :D

  • beautiful solo by Mike at the end! Thanks a'lot!

  • This must be a very difficult song to cover because every cover I've heard has been terrible. At least this one isn't as bad as Mika's.

  • Newton Falkners cover is almost better than the original imho.

Mika is great but not in this song.

  • amazing man :D

  • this sounds like crap....

  • This cover isn't bad. It sucks.

  • I agree, he shouldnt try to sing something like this

  • although i loove incubus, this one was not the best cover i heard. i prefer newton faulkners cover... theres a live version when he sings it with a single guitar in an elevator. daamn good.

  • incubus is great but i do agree that maybe they shouldn't have done this one. although i do think the jose gonzalez version is definitely a respectable cover

  • This cover isn't BAD exactly, but it's not different enough from the original to make it a truly *great* cover, or even especially noteworthy. The best covers are the ones that totally re-interpret the original--a genre cross like Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower," or interesting instrumentation like the guitar replacing the sax in the Foo Fighters' cover of "Baker Street."

  • I didn't know that this song was cover-able

  • @condorlio07 And Incubus proofed that it isn't.

  • @cr1msonking93 how about jaurim's version?

  • @condorlio07 Check the Newton Faulkner cover. In an elevator with just a guitar, on his own.

  • @miduke Literally just watched that video to get to this one. I have to say I recommend it too. Beautiful.

  • why that photo?was this in venezuela...if it is..gooood...im from vnzla but now live in miami

  • Don't get me wrong. I love Incubus.... but I think this is just one of those songs that is simply "uncoverable", no matter who attempts it. the original on the Mezzanine album is and will always be my favorite version of this song!

  • Have you seen Newton Faulkners' cover of this? That one was the only cover I was amazed by.

  • @ChavDucky You should check out Jose Gonzalez's cover

I like it even more than the original

  • Can't say i like this.....very butchered haha.

  • wow....

  • I love the lone scream at the beginning from the one person who recognizes the song.

  • I did not want to like this song, then I thought I was not giving them a chance...So I listened with open ears. I do not like this version, I appreciate his interest in this song, but this really is a horrible version. He is off tune a few times and his voice was not made for this song.

  • it would of sounded amazing at the actual concert

his voice has just been mixed all over the place

  • AWESOME, The Venezuelan flag with only 7 stars... before the monkey took over!!! F@#$ Chavez

  • its really not the best song for brandons voice, and I love the original to the point that this just does not cut it. Sorry Incubus I love you but you can do better

  • fuck u idiots!!!

  • Wow, this is bad. However, if you wanna hear really, REALLY bad, listen to the Mika cover of it. Holy sh** dude... totally unnecessary.

  • @spyy420 Agreed, Mika can't even hit 1/2 of the notes properly...

Personally I like this version, partially because of the acoustic guitar, mostly because I love Brandon's voice. If he did a recording of this (as in a professional recording) this would be even better, though really... he barely so much as goes flat or sharp in concerts, he's an amazing vocalist. But that's just opinion ;) i can't blame anyone for liking the original more.

  • Woudn't mind hearing Maynard from tool and a perfect circle sing it !

  • Got to admit, as a "massive" fan of the original (pun intended) & being an Incubus fan as well, I thought this would be the perfect pairing. Boy was a wrong. I need to listen to the Massive Attack version now just to get this out of my head.

  • @skullgame Damn...I agree completely. Not good.

  • @spyy420

Check out the live version of Newton Faulkner's cover if you want to see an incredible performance of Teardrop. Just a guy & a guitar, but wow!

Also, Jose Gonzalez does a wicked cover of the song as well.

Both are on YouTube. Check them out.

  • Love, love is a verb

    Love is a doing word

    Fearless on my breath

    Gentle impulsion

    Shakes me makes me lighter

    Fearless on my breath

    Teardrop on the fire

    Fearless on my breath

  • Nine night of matter

    Black flowers blossom

    Fearless on my breath

    Black flowers blossom

    Fearless on my breath

    Teardrop on the fire

    Fearless on my breath

  • Water is my eye

    Most faithful mirror

    Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire of a confession

    Fearless on my breath

    Most faithful mirror

    Fearless on my breath

    Teardrop on the fire

    Fearless on my breath

  • @ArubaRiba07 correction if u listen closely to the original by massive attack the song says Night night of the dead, which reitorates the black flowers blossom in the next line

  • True ur rite! But that is just One Word and everything else stays the same rite?

  • actually i took a good listen to the original by massive attack and it does sound like night night of matter

  • actually i took a good listen to the original by massive attack and it does sound like night night of matter

  • Some bands might be able to cover Teardrop. And then, there's this.

  • i actually like Incubus, but this is pretty fucking weak.

  • He doesn't even know the words.

  • did he just say they originally wrote this song?? incubus now needs to burn

  • New song we wish we wrote.

  • No, he said, "here's a song we wish we wrote."

  • No he says "This is a song we wish we wrote"

  • @Kotakai i think he is just trying to be sarcastic.

  • I'm a huge Incubus fan (obviously). I'm surprised there are so many people saying this is an "awful" cover. I disagree. It isn't one of Incubus's best covers, in my opinion, but it is nowhere near awful. The original is nice, but I found it boring. I actually like this one better. Of course, maybe that's because I'm biased and grew up listening to Incubus.

  • @incubusgurlie421 I think we're biased, yes. Or perhaps we simply prefer male vocals subconsciously. Either way, I agree, I like this version equally if not slightly more, it's more interesting to me.

  • High-five, ma'am!! Elizabeth has a pretty voice, I just think Brandon changes it up a little more and makes it more exciting. I do generally prefer male vocals though. You got me there. :)

  • than you'll like the version by newton faulkner

  • Newton Faulkner is alright, I'm just not a big fan of his voice, his use of his voice, or his use of dynamics... Brandon's vocal style is just more suited to my taste I guess.

  • i agree. you will love it!

  • They put words to the song. No way. Haha.

  • the original song had words.

  • Yeah I know that haha they're just sung by Elizabeth Fraser and it's controversial as to what she's actually saying, just like just about everything else she's ever sung. So I said what I said because there's much less question as to what actual words these are here sung by incubus.

  • dam it, i only have 1 macbook, not fair killmore xD

  • I don't hate this version, but I would never listen to it as long as I had access to the original.

  • 2 macs there on stage, haha

  • kai du bist übel guter bmxer :)

  • this version sucks

    fuck uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!

    massive attack 4ever

  • seems like incubus is covering all my favorite songs, but this version sucks... massive attack 4 ever!

  • My God, why would anyone ruin such a poem, by singin it this way! Nobody, nobody sings it like Liz Frazer and nobody ever will.

  • why do people need to ruin this song?

  • Man talk about murdering a great track.

  • it's by massive attack

  • so , according to you!!!!who the fuck wrote it!!!

  • Comment removed

  • okay.. so its not the original.. but mmmm i love his voice!

  • Don't like it. Doesn't have the thing.
