  • By far the best use of the Sontarans and the best written, acted and the whole story was better. It is a shame that all later stories have tainted them.

  • Back when Sontarans were badass.

  • Best sontaran story there is!

  • Elisabeth Sladen is SOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous.

    R.I.P. Elisabeth.

  • @TheComingApocalypse Not at all! This was the best ever sontaran costume, others were crap! You speak the truth!

  • Thumbs up for tinny music!

  • im the biggest dr who fan

  • @Davros47able impossible

  • @Davros47able Then who is your favorite Doctor? and what is your favorite Dr who story ever? and favorite Dr who villains?

I'am a big Dr who fan my favorite Doctor is Peter Davison and Dr who storys are The Caves of Androzani and Daleks and my favorite villains are the Daleks.

  • @JackWProductions I would have to say the Daleks and the Tenth Doctor and Rose

  • That is one awesome sontaran suit. Is it wrong that I like this design better than the new ones?

  • thats the tallest sonataran i've ever seen...

  • @mcridiculose

Sontarans were only short in the newer series.

  • I think sometimes ppl forget that the classic series were geared for 9-12 yr olds

  • @mjwwes Not all of it. Have you seen the complexity of some of the scripts? I don't really expect a 10 year old to fully appreciate the story in Talons of Weng Chaing...

  • @SpotxSpot Well, you must admit that it looks corny, but i understand that looks is not all that matters

  • Good old old Doctor Who!

  • Stall the not so undefeated anymore but nevermind

  • the santarns are only like 5foot

  • @denon7474 A new series fan are we

  • that's rich - a sontaren comes and plants a flag ( see Eddie Izzard ) and claims the earth for the sontaran race;-))

  • 0:46, so that's what happened to my soup pot....

  • @janeyrevanescence12 i dont get it lol

  • @LouisDeca the Sontaran officer's helmet reminds me of a soup pot that I have

  • oh look, Its-Staal-The-Not-Quite-So-Undefeated-Anymore-But-Never-Mind!

  • @UKGameMaster Lynx.

  • Why are the Sontarans so short in the newer ones? I do love the Sontarans! I have this on DVD.

  • Huh... And I thought dem Sontarans was a newer villian. The more you know.

    *RAINBOW*

  • 0:44 - "I wouldn't go in there for a few minutes if I were you. Either of you chaps got a match?"

  • This is probably my second favorite storyline, only let down by the god-awful explosion in episode 4. It made me laugh an cry at the same time

  • love the bad effects, sow campy:3

  • eddie izzard talked about just walking into somone elses territory and just sticking a pole there

now even sontarans are doing it

  • sarah jane been working with loots of doctors

  • links aftershave

  • @lego3451 LOL

  • 0:01 click on this to skip the ad

  • Ah the good ole days. How I miss em.

  • 1:47 Pwned.

  • It's Boromir!!

  • I am a bigger fan of the new series, but this was the best Sontaran episode of the old. It was a great idea that they set it in the Middle Ages and had the aliens manipulate humans in a less sophisticated time.

The Sontaran Experiment's problem was that it was too short, The Two Doctors' problem was that it fed into the inconsistancies of doctor #2, and Invasion of Time's problem was everything. Although seeing a Sontaran trip over pool furnature was priceless.

  • 0.36 I didn't realise Boromir was in Dr.Who.

  • Can you overcome all of us with your.. magic? Yes.

  • see! i knew potatoes were from space. evil bastards

  • A giant potatoe with a cue stick !

  • Its better to have imaginations and great scrpts thans going cgi crazy like russel t davies

  • @Valiantgallifrey ... Sorry, what?

  • It always amazes me that film and TV aliens are proportionate in size to humans. There must be some cosmic rule of the universe that all life forms have a height between 4' and 6'5. It would be funnier to see Lynx step out of his starship, revealing himself to be 10 inches high. Irongron then uses him as a doorstopper.

  • I think the best stories were the Jon pertwee years.....

  • look like ironman

  • lol someone's got a hyper horse

  • I once saw a production photo that was obvioulsy taken on location between shooting - it was a photo of the Sontaran relaxing between shooting - sitting on a deck chair, legs crossed holding a pair of sunglasses and smoking a ciggie! After seeing that it has taken all the mystiqaue away! LOL!

  • "Tis a devil from hell"...no just a talking turd from space.

  • He's got balls!!

  • awsome video, and meant to rate it 5 star than 4 star!

  • one of pertwee's greatest episodes without a doubt

  • I agree, the dialouge is fantastic beginning to end (just like Talons of Weng Chiang, another Holmes classic)

  • Talons of weng chiang, is probably my favourite stroy from old Doctor who

  • @djorcks95 It's one of the few Dr Who stories that stands up well as a television drama in its own right. Great stuff - Talons and Androzani, Inferno and City of Death are my favourite Whos.

  • Gotta love the Sontarans. Distant relatives of Humpty Dumpty.

  • Your Right there!!! I love the sontarans, There on the top 3 Doctor who villians with daleks and cybermen

  • what about our master ?

  • His helmet is shaped like a bellend.

  • One of the best Doctor Who episodes of all time.

  • One of Pertwee's best episodes.

  • it dosen't

  • Why does the Sontaran travel around in a public toilet?

  • Their usual ships look like golf balls.

  • "Time Warrior" gets my vote as the most fun-to-watch DrWho ever. The villans Irongron, Blood Axe and the Sontaran warrior Linx have great lines and almost steal the show! Jon Pertwee looks his classiest and is having a blast as the Doctor. Last and definitely not least, Sarah Jane Smith arrives in DrWho like a hurricane. Sarah Jane tangling with Irongron, while first thinking the Middle Ages are a village pageant, is funny enough to watch over and over.

Classic Who at its absolute best!

  • I just watched this last night & the rest today & ironically I've judst finished cooking a spud in the microwave!

  • That's just.

  • yay the first apperance of the infamous space potatoes with attitude.

  • Poor Sarah Jane, how many times is it she runs into a Sontaran. By the way this is the first Sontaran episode. I think.

  • Those knights are lucky the Sontaran didn't strike decide to fight. Those guys are beasts!

  • u can watch the whole episode if u type it in

    it is in parts

  • Another troll. Your idea of a good writer is JK Rowling I guess?

Holmes, Adams, Boucher, Dicks etc... are far better writers than any New Who writer.

  • RIP Linx :-(

  • Linx iz the best sontaran yet !!!

  • buy new linx: dark temptation now :)

    couldnt resist ;)

  • well if u fink about it, bak den dey had 1 ov d most low paid fundings(i mean doctor who)

  • Amazing some people slagging off Dr Who!

Naff scenery-well I suppose footage filmed in a wood must be-those look like real trees to me!

Bad acting-not true-David Dakers is a good actor-may over-act his role-but this is childrens Tv-I remember that other bad actor Tim Piggot Smith and a host of other RSC actors plying their trade in Dr Who during the 70s-also good plots-perhaps Weatherlawyers comments should be directed at Star Trek from the 60s.

As shallow as the orifice from whence it came

  • they're in the woods you idiot

  • Not having a time machine I can't imagine what you hoped to accomplish with yours.

Is there anything more I can do for you, or is this a flying visit?

  • Weatherlawyer is either a digruntled ex-BBC employee or a failed scriptwriter or maybe an old fart with too much time on his hands....

  • Ignore the troll duerdenn. His idea of a good actor is probably Wesley Snipes.

He also seems completely unaware that the writer of this episode wrote for Play for Today, and has had his dialogue compared to that of Dennis Potter.

  • Good lord. Attacking Old Who for its limited special effects, sets and costumes, has always been the argument of those with limited intelligence.

Script and acting are far more important, and the Time Warrior has than in abundance. The actors here all have RSC experience, and the script was written by Robert Holmes.

  • Spot on young man!!!

Although some Dr Who episodes from the 70s suffered from cheap sets/special effects the script writing/actors could never be doubted..check Warriors of Mars,Genesis of the Daleks or The Talons of Weng Chung-superb stories&acting-David Dakers in this episode..Tim Piggot Smith-is he a bad actor!!!-in others-Weatherlawyers just jealous of Linxs good looks!!!

  • Yeah I agree totally. And two of those episodes you just listed were written also written by Robert Holmes. Daker and Piggot Smith are excellent actors, and so is Kevin Lindsay (who plays Commander Linx). The actor who played Boba Fett in Star Wars also appeared in this episode.

Oh, and 'Warriors of Mars' is actually 'Pyramids of Mars'.

  • Yeah your right-Warriors of Mars is a Michael Moorcock novel-sorry its called old age!!!

  • @FieldMarshal07 " Limited Intelligence"

Talking dosnt make you intelligent my friend.

  • @FieldMarshal07 Old who was much better, ahhh Jon Pertwee days.

  • @FieldMarshal07 : Completely agree. Oh, for the days when sci fi programmes had to rely on good writing, rather than special effects! They don't make them like they used to in the 60s and 70s.

  • @TheAdam159

I will say the new Dr Who isn't as bad as alot of modern stuff though.

  • @FieldMarshal07 The BBC spent more money on Red Dwarf's sound effects than on Doctor Who.

  • commander linxs is a legend good story also the sontarans should come back with linxs as their leader

  • Better Known As LINX!!!!

Good One Of The Best Stories!!!

OMG i love jon pertwee best doctor!!!

  • One of Pertwee's best episodes.

  • classic stuff! the best doctor who ;)
