I just bought Royal Purple max gear 75w90 gear oil for my C3. The manual says to use the same oil that you use in the engine but KS Power told me to change to 75w90 I chose the brand they said it didn't matter what brand. I have been using the same 10w40 amsoil synthetic in my engine in my transmission Amsoils says that it meets 80w90 requiments but KS Power says to go with actual gear oil in the weight 75w90.
I ran Amsoil for a short time in the drive unit, Went back to a gear oil after reading up on oils.
Better to be safe than sorry :)
