I differ with ya on this topic. Who are we to define (with certainty) what is good or bad art. I get the picture of what your saying and I agree with 95% of it. I just think there are way too many people in the world to make a blanket generalization about Timberlake and 50 Cent. Id even go as far as saying that their music could be subversive and challenge preconceived notions held by some people out there. But I dont know how someone can say that their art CANT be good to anyone. peace

I would say as a minor question though...do you think the "good" artists have always been radically different than their culture around? Or does "good art" sometimes more subtly critique their culture in ways that undermine it without the culture really knowing they're being undermined?
