  • Who cares if it's not a Ford engine. AC made the original car with a British flat 6 and the same company makes this car. They can put whatever engine they like in it. The Shelby version is an awesome classic, but this is not a Shelby car, it's an AC car. It's a brilliant car. Would I spend £100000 on this instead of a good Shelby kit car? No.

  • He just came at 1:19

  • Not a true cobra I couldn't call that one and for 100000£ that's stupid I've seen 3 real cobras in my life and they all made me smile and that one didnt and plus these guys are trying to hard to be like top gear you suck get that through your head

  • Yeah sorry, wrong engine, all of the Cobras i've heard sound raspy and mean, not like that.

  • THAT CAR IS ALL WRONG!!! WRONG! A real cobra NEVER had a chevy engine! Whoever made that decision or decided to call it a cobra is an IMBICILE! Cobras are ALWAYS Fords! NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • That's the way super cars should be they were all like that in the 60's they were a lot better looking then today not as fast as today but way more fun to drive why because driving a modern car is like syincing your I pod then you were connected to the car and that's what made them great

  • Odd that they didn't just go with the 5.4 litre GT500 engine. It did, after all, gain it's reputation with a Ford engine.....or if they stayed with an LS engine, why not the Z06 7.0 litre? That translates to 427 c.i. :)

  • did they seriously put a fucking ls3 into a Shelby car. what the fuck, they better fucking watch out because Carol Shelby is going to send some one over to blow up there factory, which is what they deserve.

  • @2bidfilmsguy AC are entitled to put whatever engine they like in an Ace-or cobra as it's come to be known,Carol had a great idea when she ordered an ace with a bigger engine, but thecar is British as they come.

  • @tweeny55 yes I understand that, but Shelby has ALWAYS used ford engines, they could of gone and put the brand new coyote 5.0 engine witch still produces 410 horsepower made by Ford, and it weighs allot less than the gm 6.2. even though it is considered a replica, you don't go and remake an iconic 7 liter ford engined 60's super car and then put a Chevy engine in it, even if it is all British it looks like the original. you don't remake an e type jag and then put a engine from Toyota in it.

  • @2bidfilmsguy The AC Cobra is not a replica, its the mk6 version of the original Ace/Cobra-Shelby was a tuner who put a different engine in an AC Cobra-Shelby didn't design or originally build this car AC did...search AC ACE and you'll see what I mean. And I believe the ace had a Bristol derived engine at first which was a variant of an old BMW engine-

  • @tweeny55 yes but when Shelby worked on it, it had a stroked and bored FORD 351. this car has always been associated with Shelby, and the Shelby cobra has always had a ford power plant. So even if it is not a shelby it just seems wrong to put a gm engine in it because it is a Shelby icon.

  • WATCH THE FUCKING ROAD WHILE DRIVING THAT

  • LS engine FTW. Autocar U.K you still fucken SUCK.

  • The damn shelby cobra is a AC Cobra just with a more powerful engine... Or was thanks to this model

  • shelby cobra is where its at forget porshe and german manufactors but hardcore american ford racing shit with a cleveland 351

  • uhauahuahuahua....shut your mouth please! :°°D huahauhauhuahuah

  • dear santa.....

  • jizz

  • The guy totally has a cargasm at 1:19.

  • I think the 6.2 chev motor works better in the Marcos TSO. It should NEVER be in a Cobra...EVER!!!!

  • Nice to look at, nice to drive and nice to own

  • Stunning what more can one say, certianly would not whant to crash one though :p

  • Here's the Website of the German manufacturer: accars.de

    They did an awesome job!

  • 1 person drives a prius, and was overtaken by a cobra and blown into the weeds

  • The owner of this car is watching this video, saying, "WHAT THE FUCK!"

  • WHY is this guy driving a Left hand drive car on the left lane of the road?

  • How dare they put a Corvette engine in my beloved AC Cobra!? ONLY A 427 BELONGS IN AN AC COBRA!!! ;[

  • @tjstevens74

In case you don't know IT"S KIT CAR! You can put anything you damn please in there. Mine has a 6 cylinder Nova engine in it, until i get my hands on a V8 of some sort.

    Greetings from Iran

  • @saeidmomtahan This is not a kit car, it's made by AC, the same British company that made the original Cobra and inspired the kit cars.

  • Ouh! I live for old cars! ONE day I will be buy some old car! Any of these cars.

    - Chevrolet Corvette 61 convertible

    - AC/Shelby Cobra

    - Jaguar E-type

    - Maserati 2500 gt

    - Aston Martin DB5

    - Alfa Romeo guilietta

    - BMW 507

    - Ferrari 250 any. These are extreamly expensive.

  • Wow! What the color. What the sound. Love it!

  • The guy in the vid says clearly "a MK4 Cobra" and yet the title says MK6....

  • Believe in me, best is driving thru town and start other cars alarms :D

  • ONE DAY!!!

  • If I owned that car I would pull a James Dean

  • Oh, the irony! The bodywork, the rollbar, they look a bit more kit car-ish in shape & proportions than the "genuine" cars and those produced by Shelby & Kirkham, respectively.

There are lots of differences between the various kit cars and "bona-fide" Cobras out there--some subtle, some glaring. I'm glad AC is still in business, but I'd want to ask them: What did you DO to it?!? Cobras are like french-toast--the recipe's so simple, you have to TRY to f' it up...

  • Pretty cool... Until you said it had a corvette engine in it.

  • @wilecatrexy Yeah, putting one of the best engines ever made into a car completely ruins it.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss That's your opinion. It doesn't sound like a 427 SOHC. And usually when someone puts a GM motor in vehicle that requires a Ford motor is because they went cheap.

  • @wilecatrexy Its because its an Chevrolet 6.2 Litre LS3 V8 with R2300 Four lobe Rotor Roots Type Supercharger, producing 647 BHP 1,025KG ( The Base GT version produces 437BHP). Also made in Germany, Heyda & costs £90,000 UK Pounds which you might find ain't exactly cheap.

  • @masonizere It's got no soul brotha!

  • @masonizere GM is a POS I have driven many and had quite a few fail.I will never own a GM or anything powered by a GM. Total POS.I don't care how much it costs it's still shit and can't handle the accidental abuse like a Ford or Mopar can (overrev)

I've seen it many times so don't feed a line of BS back.

It's pretty bad when my $7000 347 (5.6L)Ford is putting out 515hp naturally and that POS 6.2L Supercharged is only pushing 647 and will be more dependable.

  • @rider660r dude. Calm down. You're ford doesn't put out that much power. You may want to believe so. I also want to believe the Fiat Panda has a million horsepower. That doesn't make it worth my time to go on the youtubes and bitch about how awesome my fictional horsepower is. Dyno vids or it didn't happen. Deal?

  • @SirWilliamLeys Suck my dick kid, cause it does and no cam for it but got the paper workup on it tho.

Your a dick and Gm is shit!! Go your cheap way if you want,I'll go for more with a Ford or even Mopar.

And for you asinine info,I was pointing out how shitty more ci on a Gm still = a smallblock Ford or Mopar. Now STFU and really learn something before to get plugged

  • I would jizz if I ONLY SAT IN THAT BEAST!

  • check the bolts on the wheels, its a replica, with a fiberglass body..... NOT a real cobra

  • Really awsome, but it needs a 427 Side-Oiler.

  • Still not a Cobra or a Cobra Continuation. Not Happenin!

Shelby or Superformance with 600 hp now that is the car.

  • I'd sell one of my lungs to get one of these...

  • what is the name of the opening and closing theme music in these videos

  • just look at that handeling

  • Ofcourse it is a replica, but it has better road handling performance than the real deal back in the sixties...

  • @cruisecat No, its not a replica. Its the next generation Cobra. Its built by AC. Of course its owned by a german company but it still uses AC build and American engine

  • If you did that in your local high street all the girls will think you have a little willy :)

  • i dont like these "new" cobras its not a Cobra in my eyes. a cobra is 40-45 years old and has a ford engine in it not a Chevy how could you take and make a real cobra with a corvette engine, YOU CANT just another KIT to me. nothin better than original

  • @mantishrimpruler2 Except it is built by the company who built the originals. When AC was building the first Cobras, they WANTED to use a Corvette engine, but Chevy was afraid it would become a rival of the Corvette, which it did anyways. So its what AC wanted the car to be. And it is better than the original, and its NOT a kit car

  • you are right except for the part where you said "when AC was building the 1st cobras and they wanted to use a chevy engine". Correction: Shelby built the cobra and ac built the body not the car just the exterior, the body isnt the whole car people, just because the body looks the same doesnt mean anything, it has to be made in part by shelby to be called a cobra because he made the COBRA name. also shelby went to chevy 1st not ac and at first cobras were intended to just be sold in America.

  • @mantishrimpruler2 My grandfather hooked Carroll Shelby up with the engines for the Cobras. From what I have heard from family and the book "the Cobra Story", Lee Iacocca turned Shelby down, so he went and saw my grandpa, David Evans, who was in charge of Ford's SVT and Ford Racing divisions. They developed the coolest car ever and whipped Ferrari's ass for a while. Not trying to brag, but you should hear the stories from those days. My dad tore through Dearborn in the prototype!

  • @NortonNice What a lucking guy!!!

  • He called it a "cobbra"...

But he drives it quite well

  • i love it

  • sounds like this car has traction control, you can hear it cutting in, and i thought AC werent allowed to use the 'Cobra' name, thought it would just be the 'AC MK6'

  • @lukeshytalker02 AC is the company that built the originals after all. Weird

  • @magnum9987 well technically no, ac built the Ace, Shelby put the V8 in it and called it the Cobra, Shelby always owned the name 'Cobra'

  • @lukeshytalker02 Actually, although it was Shelby's concept and developed from the Ace, AC built the Cobra as a Cobra from day 1. Initial engineering for the V8 was done by AC, and the first Cobra was built as a complete car by AC before being shipped to States where Shelby's team raced and developed it. Shelby originally owned the Cobra name but sold it to Ford ages ago. AC could still use Cobra name on Ford powered cars, but as this isn't Ford powered AC can't (and don't) call it a Cobra.

  • @lukeshytalker02 Ford bought the Cobra name off Shelby ages ago but let AC continue to use it because they used Ford engines. However, this car has a Chevy engine so it can't be called a Cobra (and isn't on the AC website) in the same way the Lotus V8 powered version AC built couldn't be called a Cobra.

  • AC cars were a small independent company who were approached by Carrol shelby in 1962 he was looking for a car to challenge the chevy corvette in us sports car racing.

the 427 fe is a farrari crunching monster and one of the most desirable cars in the world

  • You dont even need a stereo in that!

  • or...the stereo does not need speakers haha

  • Hell ye!!!

  • ho build that cobra that he drives?? does anybody now the name of the company???

  • its AC cars as stated in the video

  • its the original cobra mk 6 with license from AC... build in saxonia / germany

  • hey do these replicas usually come with power steering?

  • its no replica!

  • haha fuck yah driftin the ac!

  • Quality!

  • "can you imagine doing that in your local highstreet?"

Yeh, you'd look like a real knob.

  • go drive your rice rocket you homo.

  • maybe one day....love it...

  • Damn...I have always loved that car!!! Old school...is another way of saying, "its proven itself!"

  • @brainards1

yeah, proven itself to be a novelty item that you can't drive to the grocery store in.

  • @WunderDoob If my wife had a grocery list a mile long...I would take it and drive this damn car to the store.

  • @brainards1

yes and when you came out of the store the car would either

    A. not be there.

    B. Utterly destroyed by shopping carts, keys, female drivers, etc.

  • @WunderDoob That is why I always park under surveillance cameras and on a hill!

  • True classics never get old...

I'll take this AC over the Ford wannabe Cobra concept

  • @LRTICO it seems to me you know a little about ac cobras history..

none the less we all have our opinion and for me the 65 mark 3 shelby/ford powered cobra is the best becuase it is just that old school..

  • @tinaalwayswins

I think you are not very updated, I was talking about the Ford Cobra Concept, this Cobra Concept was released back in 2005

You should google it and check this "New" vehicle

I know a cople of this about cars and their histories...

  • I'll take one please!!

  • It may have an AC badge, but that doesn't mean nowt.

  • The video says it's not a kit, so why the Dax body, A Dax dashboard, External boot hinges, Bolt on wheels, fake spinners, Dax style padding around the cockpit? What's under the skin, a Dax supertube maybe? It's OK as far as replicas go, but there's nothing like the original 60's car. If I was to choose between this and a Kirkham, for example, the Kirkham would win every time. Plus its cheaper. So is a Dax, a Ram and a GD. All can be set up to out-perform & cost much less. Is it REALLY an AC???

  • it made by AC cars not DAX

  • I want that car.

  • autocar forgot to upload this video, thanks for doing so because videos at their website can hang

  • Sweet car for sure.

  • Every V8 should sound like this.....

    Beautifully insane!

  • Amen

  • Amen

  • You need some "BALLS" to drive that !

  • "sigh, I got to get myself one of these one day, one day, one.. day.."

A very nice car indeed, considering I've never been much of a fan of open-tops, I can't wait till they get around to launching the Gullwinged-Coupe version.

  • i love it.

  • Great!
