sir can you explain me how to this question?? If a discount of 20% off the retail price of a desk saves Mark $45, how much did he pay for the desk? A-$145 B-$160 C-$180 D-$210 E-$215 one of thos are the answer but i dont know how to resolve the problem help me please???
@ace5125 % is nothing but the ratio of (part/total)*100 by defination of the percentage, per meand for every and cent means 100 so for every 100 what is the part of the the total
Scholastic Assessment Test given by the College Board to all HS students entering into college, total 2400 points consisting of each 800 pionts for writing, verabl and math parts
That really isn't a hard problem. I'm not sure what level of student this is aimed at but all British A Level students and most of the GCSE students would be able to tackle that no problem.
Thanks for posting this video, but i really don't understand 1 thing, please excuse my ignorance but how exactly did you get N (i know boys)+ N (whats the other N coming from?)+ 75 (I know girls)
the N + N + 75 in the denominator indicates the total number of people at the school. N gives the number of boys, and (N+75) gives the total number of girls.
Leave this man alone he is helping us and you racist people are attacking him. I for one and happy he is helping us. If I get into Harvard college I'll be sure to say thank you to this guy.
I disagree with your approach here. Why do you insist at the end of the video. "I didn't even look at the choices" - "no using numbers and you got the answer"
You should ALWAYS look at the answers and eliminate what doesn't make sense.
If there are veriables in the answers, then you should ALWAYS plug in numbers. (Because the average student could answer the question with numbers).
pick a small number for n. n=2. Girls are 77. 79 students total. Therefore (2/79)*100 % = 200/79 =1.26% A, B and C are too small obviously (less than 1). Answer E works.
You are VERY smart, but average SAT student needs an "approach", not "This is how to solve this problem".
I beg to differ. You DID teach plug in on this problem: "Geometry Area Problem SAT MATH NLC"
and you didn't need it there.
Look. Many ways to solve a math problem and you are a very smart man. Just be open for suggestions. I have had several of my students score 780 - 800. I'm not going for "average".
Dir Sir, I have will be taking the SAT test in upcomming december just wanted to tell you i highly appreciate your help. It is more clear than Kaplan SAT classes that i took. Thank You Once again.
Hey, I think what you're doing is pretty cool stuff. I took the SAT reasoning test today and you're problem solving methods were helpful. good job mathproblems
my brain is broken thanks to you :(

Sk82beast 1 year ago
@Sk82beast this hardeness of the problem is defined by the college board and by mathproblems.
this is actual past sat problem by the way
mathproblems 1 year ago
@Sk82beast I made a mistake in above comment
The hardness of the problems are not defined by mathproblems

@mathproblems I think this is a level 3 problem.

no, if there was no percentage sign, the answer would be B

I dont teach plug in
I teach how to solve the problem
I teach how to get over 750 and not just the average
This is my style and polict
Keep yuor style with you I respect that
