In case you don't know, its called intellectual property, a.k.a. copyright. The title says BY Aretha Franklin, making someone who ( I guess you're included) doesn't know that Ms. Franklin wrote it, she did not. When Whitney Houston sang our national anthem some 20 odd years ago, she owned it. But no one says she wrote it. Give me a break, sheesh!

Nobody says "oh have you heard that song by Kesha called Till the World Ends" or "WOW that song by The Dream called Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) is raw" No they would say Britney Spears, and Beyonce. So just because it says "By Aretha Franklin" doesnt mean ppl automatically think she wrote it. SHE was the one who made it popular, it was on HER album. So by definition its HER song...
