  • Frankie Knuckles, a house legend.

  • Ah, what a tune! =D A classic.

Jenkins Lane venue, Raindance - always the best selection of tunes from this era to 'ave it and have a good dance to. Very friendly vibe from the people.

This was played at my Auntie's funeral; an incredibly difficult day to get through! Still, we played all her favourite tunes, celebrated her life as she would have wanted, and all had a dance for her! She would've been up 'avin it with the rest of us =)

  • @empathy09 Jenkins lane was an old stop for me, being a Stratford lad an all, used to go all the time back in the day, R.I.P to your aunt..

  • long live

  • LIKE

  • House Clubs the atmosphere was so out of this world. Everyone was dress very unique, the ladies were so playful and fine. The music keep you moving all thru th nite. Time did not matter. It felt like a piece of heaven. The lights, the sound systems. NYC had the best House clubs, summer, fall, Winter, and spring. You had to be there to experience it. Some many memories...

  • ONE OFF THE BEST.............

  • o jackin house very cool

  • Godfather of house!!

  • tasteful, stylish, rythmic, classic, ......perfection!!!! delivers a melodic and rythmic, "Knuckle" sandwich, enough to make you cry "tears" of joy.!!!!!

am i good or am i good!!?!!

  • REAL house music. Can't stand all the generic crap nowadays that have the same ol typical "unn tiss unn tiss" drum and highhat with absolutely NO feeling to it. So what if it has a disco sample, it ain't damn house! Wish I could have seen this tune played in a club back in the day, must have been unreal.

  • @Deetroiter this track made the floor go nuts i know i was there tony humphries would kill this

  • @Deetroiter ....as old as I am now (fortunately,I guess !) I agree 100%...went out again recently and the "music" was a steady 130BPM for four hours with no color or nuance to it at all (techno-crap)....how boring. Then saw Tiesto (coming to the Borgata in AC) and everyone stands around worshipping him staring at the stage. At least at the Garage we knew Larry was there and we DID worship him,but we were there for the music and experience of the place...same at the Saint and Sound Factory....

  • @dirtyedna spot on how over rated is tiesto..fekin slept wey a dj....!!lololivvvl

  • this joint takes me back to the basement parties inthe bricks....nwk..nj

  • music is crap ..thank God we lived in those times!!! we were blessed!!! SO BLAST UR FAVORITES AND LET EVERYONE KNOW AROUND THAT THIS IS MUSIC!!!, i play this music to my daughter and shes in awe when she hears it

  • what a tune this is.......i remember the first time i heard this....

  • (a classic).missing that club scene....

  • proper love this tune ......

  • I know this sounds a bit morbid, but when I die I want to be buried with this tune in my coffin? Does anyone think that is a bit odd? Or does anyone feel there is a better choice of track (i.e. Your Love or Corporation of One - Real Life?) ? Peace. :)

  • CLASS

  • did you say david morales, take it away son, old skl, I love this song, and yes classic house real house never dies.

  • paul johnson is way better he has been around just as long as frankie

  • This is a song that feels so good it take me to a whole another vibe I love this song man i could make babies to this song for real. This is real music man give me a nice drink and let this stay on repeat.Makes you think about the Golden era of music 88 89 90 we miss those years for real.House music Forever!!!!

  • This is one of the best tracks ever produced....of all time.....

  • He knows his ap[ples this fat dude.

  • David Morales at the Red Zone, and then 4:00 AM at the Sound Factory to hear Frankie.

Marc Watson, David Todd!! I know you are in DJ heaven dancing to this song!!

  • Beautiful Song!

  • An absolute killa of a track and filled dancefloors all over the world. For me the second best house song ever with Mysterys of Love slightly edging it. I Love this song and it brings back so many great memories of care free dancing, I genuinely feel for the youth of today that missed out on the beautiful music from chicago that did´nt need profanities, blatant sexual references or to demine women.

  • must be the best tune ever

  • Great times in London late 80's - 90's. One big party. Glad I staggered off to Asia 7 years ago though, like leaving a fucking superb post Ministry party with a spaced out horny chick just in the nick of time , before everything around you melts into the carpet. Cruise back to Brixton and come down to some wicked house tunes, and pop the last half each ..... I'm in heavan, when you touch me baby ...........

  • so smooth....

  • how i agree with u ma man..back in the early 90s.we had finished knocking the crap out each other on the terraces.house music was born,i live in scotland and used to go down to m-boro arena....hooligan x colin paterson.CLASS!!!now that was house music.bring back them days...if only!!!

  • has anybody ever realised that we sound just like our parents bagging the younger generations coming through. lol shit music and causing trouble. i have to admit though i would give anything to be back in my prime about 1995 just for one more night. lol

  • does so many things to my body its impossible to put into words...incredible

  • Ah yes....a time when people went to clubs for the music when the underground was still very much underground

  • Man this reminds me of good times. Surprised someone left such a ignorant negative comment...they must be young...

  • One of those special, special tunes that reminds us of better times.

  • I remember listening to this at a club on the northside Chi,I truly miss the late 80's and the early 90's goodtimes indeed where you could dance all your cares and the night away till the break of dawn yeah when it was over you had to stand in the cold waiting on a cta bus but it was worth it househesd for life!!!!

  • the godfather of house- frankie knuckles we salute you sir!

  • Comment removed

  • giving much love to those that gave to feel free in our lives

  • this is The Music with big Soul... great old times

  • what a true classic i wonder how many kids have been conceived to this tune

  • I'm 18 and I love House music! :]

  • this music really penetrates your inner being...i once heard someone say go back and listen to albums (if you have any and a turntable to go along with it) they said it's healing in the way vinyl played as oppose to cds. i know for a fact gospel house had a profound affect on me.

  • ROBERT OWENS

  • i completely agree with essexlad the youth today have no style,no class,no taste in music they just wanna go out and thumped the crap out of anyone that blinks wrong at em,,,and they dont make tunes like this anymore,,,tuuuunnnneeee,,we spent many nights in the m,bro arena,,and basics in leeds dancin the night away i wouldnt fancy going now probs get started on just for cueing up ,,,sad

  • @karlatkin01 drugs/ectasy(love) culture has turned to lager lout/cocaine culture.Music reflects it as well.We are also living in the X-factor generation now, lmao, how fucking embarrasing is that. All the underground clubs have nearly all died out..."All good things must come to an end" as they say...

  • @karlatkin01 I was thinking the same thing then thought.....hang on, were all a bit blinkered and only remember what we want to remember. Powerhouse Stratford, Epping country club/Atlantis etc. The Island/Harlequins in later days. Bagleys. As much fun as they were, the trouble was still there.

On the other hand we are right to remember the good times!! Good tunes but I won't cane the new stuff for fear of sounding like my Dad when I was playing my tunes!!! Let em have their day too! Good Post!

  • @karlatkin01 Basics is still the institute it has been, get yourself down. no pricks to be seen in basics.

  • @karlatkin01 yes the fuck we do. accept that its different from yours and that you probably don't see it because you're old, but enough of us have style, class, and great taste in music

  • @karevo123456789 loool NO the FUCK you dont not one of you have any originality im 33 my oldest son is 18

if i compared me and my friends and him and his friends it just makes me sad they/you have nothing of your own

you dress like the us. all the trainers out now are from the 70/80/90s. you can buy any type of swagg from just about any high street shop and anyone can buy it you have no rules and you dont play your positions.

  • @dutchog1 your son is 18. no independence or real adulthood. he can't have developed his own swag yet. or maybe ur son is a lame. personally i've got personal style (thanks to my dad), class (thanks to my mommy) and great taste in music. Perhaps you haven't imparted anything useful to your son?

  • @karevo123456789 pmsl its cool you can dis me and my son but who told you it was cool to bleach your hair looooooooool bet your were your pants half down your arse too.

Straight faggot shit claiming that, thats style get the fuck out of my face BOY come back in 7 years

  • @dutchog1 ur right, no fair to bring the kid into this. this is between you and me lol. im a woman so my pants are always on my booty. no one said it was cool to dye my hair, that's why i did it. though its back to black again. i won't try to prove i have style to you, because that's all a matter of opinion. You're wrong about the absence of style and class, though, and that's fucking fact.

  • @karevo123456789 first im sorry did not realise until id already wrote the comments.

you dont have to prove shit to me younger woman/girls do have a sense of identity i was wrong for comparing you to the youngsters i know. i take no pleasure no from arguing with girls so again sorry

  • @dutchog1 aw dnt back down cuz im a girl... back down cuz im right :(

  • @karlatkin01

Hahaaa, wow! What he actually wanted to say is:

I am so sad that I lost the ability to enjoy myself because I couldn't manage to feel comfortable between younger people. (... and the drugs started to suck)

  • @karlatkin01 you just don't know contemporary underground music well enough. Their are some amazing people, making amazing music. You just don't know them. I'm 19, love this music and try to thump as few people as possible ;)

  • @Swissas but but u are only 19 what would u know of house classics u werent even there my dear I WAS and many others i wish u were there if u heard the songs that were made then u would call the music OF TODAY CRAP!! anyways no offense to u peace ...

  • @80z90zhouzemuzicgrl If you were to actually look into current underground house you would realise that the original chicago sound is back. Most commercial dance music IS crap, I cant stand the banging electro nonsense you here in mainstream clubs. However the underground has gone back to proper DEEP SEXY FUNKY and most importantly SOULFUL vibes. Great, you were there at the start, are you still in Jack's house now? Doubt it, fucking old skoolers!

  • Comment removed

  • @HeelofAchilles rude ignorant ..u wish u have been there ..so wish and one of the Great DJS of that time ive spoken to and hes keeping it alive dont need you to tell me

  • @80z90zhouzemuzicgrl What would I know of classic house? I think I know quite a bit. It's stupid and counterproductive to talk about how only the people who were 'there' know what classic house is. Where exactly is 'there'? I think the music speaks for itself and it evokes a kind of feeling that is not restricted to one period of time. I own a ton of Dance Mania, Prescription Records, UR etc... on vinyl. I've heard the music that was played then and I know the music being played today.

  • @Swissas lets just enjoy the music ....peace Happy Holidays!!!

  • @karlatkin01 Don't tar everyone with the same brush

  • @karlatkin01 Lol that's the entire message behind Eminem's new song " Syllables" :D and yes, I as well agree.

  • @karlatkin01 unfortunately its people like you who make youth that way - you stereotype them and generalize them, and the small amount of decent people get lost.

  • @karlatkin01 theres still good music about if you search far and wide, its your choice if your blind to it and continuously listen to the mainstream shit thats played on the radio and then moan about it on youtube and say people have no taste in music, no class blah blah! Many people do like the watered down bubble gum crap which is thrown in ur face, but then they are just as ignorant as u are ignoring the good music hidden under the shit music!! You shouldnt generalise from what the media say!

  • @karlatkin01 and also your telling me there werent shit music around in the mainstream when this song was made??? I studied the history of pop music since the 50s and every era has stuff that is crap but somehow made it to number one! Thats the music industry for you and thats why its so difficult for GOOD musicians to get noticed when its filled with one hit wonders! Your just blind to it the rubbish stuff, as i am with lady gaga, katy perry and the likes.

  • Comment removed

  • @karlatkin01

And I suppose it's more classy to bash an entire generation based on a false generalization.

  • @karlatkin01 today people dont know what music is ....im glad to have lived this era ...isnt it wonderfull..and my little one hears this kind of music too i make sure she knows what mommy lived threw ...HOUSE !!! KEEP IT ALIVE

  • @karlatkin01 things aren't how they used to be! bwwwaaaah. mate, you have no idea. i don't know where the fuck you're going out but house music is still alive and well. i pity you.

  • @karlatkin01 I'm sure our parents said the same. My mum hated the music I played. Don't forget, in the late 80s and early 90s the papers and news were full of stories of "lager louts". There were parts of Birmingham you didn't go unless you were a "Kev" or "Dresser". What has gone, and can never be replaced, was that loss of social standing, colour, race, religion in a dance club or rave. See a stranger, share some water, share a hug. Halcyon days.

  • @kwacky 'What has gone, and can never be replaced, was that loss of social standing, colour, race, religion in a dance club or rave. See a stranger, share some water, share a hug. Halcyon days'-ever truer words spoken. All creed colours and genders united, not by law's but by peace and a shared passion.Sure the laws have changed and so has society, but what happened was special.

  • @karlatkin01 lol youre going to the wrong raves mate

  • This will always be a club classic!

  • I really appreciate my uncle for putting me on to this track at 13....i got some good brain washing of House & Club very young....

  • OMG....Where are the the biker shorts????

  • OMG....Where are the girlz in the biker shorts????

  • soooo niceeee!!!!!!!!!! ;) love it!!!

  • fuckin ream tunage

  • all i can say is labrynth reunion labrynth the legend and labyrnth cold turkey old school music old school faces old school memories brought back to life

  • Any one who was privelaged enough to find the scene in 88-89 will agree with the comments so far. So many amazing memories, so many crazy moments!! The scene was new, the music was new the dubes were new the whole feeling was new. Music has changed now and is so far removed from the original feeling that we all helped create, it actually makes me sad sometimes when I think about the times that were. That special moment in time may have gone but at least we all still have our memories forever.

  • Those born 70s used to cry tears and dance all the night through out when frankie was put on deck. I rememember this well when I was a DJ playing the likes of Black Havanna, 49ers, Vision, Sydney Young Blood, etc

whow I die for this song.

    Stephen: South Africa

  • I can remember when i was about 4 or 5 when i was living in Puerto Rico and my mom would play this in the car and when we got home I would play outside while the sun sets and I can feel the music creating the perfect mood....I wish I would have been older to actually experience the club scenes but just listening to this is great enough to bring back the mood :)

  • ...no one is left but me you and all my

    Tears

So many tears and my tears

One word could wash them away

One word could take the place...

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • This is real house. Not that bullshit that sounds so damn generic nowadays and people quickly claim to call it "house". hell no it isn't.

  • @Deetroiter ....garage....

  • @Deetroiter I'm with you all the way pal,'house'music nowadays is a disgrace

  • So sweet.....Gosh.. Please someone create a time machine so i can jump in it.

  • I think I'm gonna' cry!!! This was my joint!!!

  • I remember this song tearing up the clubs like it was the last song to ever be produced. I still jam to it. Classic!

  • I am a real good actor, this is a heavy road

Our love's a script, and you carry total control

Like a clown, I've been smiling whenever people are around

But when the curtain comes down and the circus is through

No one is left but me you and all my tears

So many tears, my tears (one word can wash them away

one word can take their place) tears

Regretting nothing but the pain, my heart my life my world is filled with rain

I'm drowning, When the curtain comes down and the circus is ..

  • This is, was and will be one of the greatest song ever!

Reminds me of: Great partys, great experiences, happiness and good warm feeling inside my stomach :))))

  • I still love this HIT from 1989.

  • Aww Man this was the jam. I was felling real good that night, my first time at The Box, old school Chicago with like 3 fine Sisters, having a blast. House music was hot then, wonder how it became a trend of those broke back mountain dudes,,, SAD.

  • Thumbs Uppp (Y) Absolute Tunee!

  • love this tune reminds me of being in kavos in 99 ... : p

  • One of the most beautiful tunes ever x

  • Old Skool Anthem....x

  • Sound Factory, Wild Pitch, Red Zone, The Building, Save The Robots, Mars. Tunnel, Limelight, Webster Hall, was a good time growing up in NYC. I wouldn't have wanted to be a teen/young man during any other time/any other place. It makes me sad to see what NYC has become and how it has been changed from it's true nature. Unity between social status/religion/and race through music and gathering is the Message that was being spread. One House, One Love, Peace!!
