  • Hahahahah!

  • Fabulous fun!

  • Zubin Metha is looking so cute!!! :)

  • Wonderful!

  • when was this video taken? Perlman looks so young!

  • Yes that is Barenboim.

He must've been 30-40 at that time.

  • mehta is hot! ;))))

  • and jacqueline du pre, the best violoncelist,. ever

  • 00:48

    young Barenboim...

  • Wow...made me smile so wide it hurt!!!

  • come on let's start !

  • You're crazy, they're just having a laugh. Where's your sense of humour?

  • I admit that jews are fantastic musicians. They have a very special sensibility and a charming clear vision of things which is to be noticed in music as well as in other fields like science. Nevertheless, I find this idea of films where jews are presented as a leading elite, very unfriendly. Maybe my historical and political background is too poor and I can't understand their need for cohesion. But I find examples like this or the film Amadeus where most of the actors were jews somewhat sad...

  • @dier190

that is a preposterous statement. These great people are not presenting themselves as Jews but as musicians and perfect musicians they are too! DuPre was not Jewish by birth anyway. She as a Protestant. Who cares what religion they are..it is totally unimportant

  • No, it isn't unimportant as you said. I think they are remarkable musicians BECAUSE they are Jews. And because of their fine jewish education. I just don't like this idea: "all jewish, all brilliant" although everybody knows that already. And Du Pres converted to judaism when she married Barenboim, deeply impressing with his jewish-palestinian orchestra. And I'm a great admirer of jewish musicians, it's exclusiveness I don't agree with...If this film isn't a good example, then consider Amadeus.

  • @dier190 Zubin Mehta is not Jewish; he is Indian of Zoroastrain (Parsi) lineage. He has often spoken proudly of his Indian heritage.

  • @ArtsandScienceTV They present themselves as the "Kosher Nostra", isn't that jew enough? Of course they present themselves as jew musicians!

  • OH i love them

  • rotflmfaoao

  • Hi, may I ask about what music they are playing? It's familiar to me but I just can't recall it's name.

  • It's Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E.

  • Thanks :)

  • Mendelssohn Concerto in E minor 1st movement

  • Aw! It was really fun! :-) Great people, great music!

  • Poor,immortal Jacqueline....

  • And she gave her mum a hug for luck, and they were on their way.....

  • jajajaja very fun!!! XD

  • Hahahah i love this clip so much...

Zubin Mehta's bowing isn't bad!! He must have played some sort of a string/bow instrument in the past.

  • He's a bassist.

  • before zubin mehta took conducting at Tel Aviv, he used to be a double-bassist....

  • I love to see amazing people play around. It reminds me that they ARE human... sometimes :P

  • are they performing beethoven triple that day?

  • No, they were playing Schubert's "The Trout"

  • 0:43 - "Do you know there's a SERIOUS public waiting outside?"

    XD

  • when my quartet were finished our last rehearsal before our first public concert at our school, we had an instrument switching moment like this... id pretty say that having moments like this makes music even more enjoyable!

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • It was in 1969. It is on a DVD called "The Greatest Love The Greatest Sorrow" by Christopher Nupen.

  • @musikgirl1 How would i find this DVD? I have looked for it but it doesn't seem to exist.

  • this is what a true musician should be... music is all about enjoying and having fun, and we should enjoy doing it in any way we can, but of course there are times that we need to be serious about it too :-) thanks for the great video.

  • Boy, that was fun watching the terrific twosome. I thought that Jacqueline DuPre would have been amused in this video. LOL.

  • cool, that´s very funny, isn´t it?

  • Is great to see how Itzhak and Zubin play the beggining of the Menndelsshon's concerto in E minor. Very funny.
