  • This is a very refreshing analysis!

  • @buletzAA Those "reasonable people" are going to get a rude awakening if they continue to infringe upon our freedoms.

  • ....Ethos is such an apro-po term to encapsulate the tea party movement of today. As was the case in 1773.

  • the tea party isn't a political party. its not a party at all.

  • @psychiatristman00 : it's not even about tea. So, if it's not about tea and it's not a party then it really doesn't exist at all! :)

  • We can all thank Ron Paul..

    Peace

  • Tea Party = 'Spontaneous Order' in a world going into 'Chaos'...

  • Tea Party = 'Nation Knowledge Wealth'...

  • Oh yeah, the Tea Party is certainly "going around" the main broadcasters to get their information from such reliable sources as Andrew Breitbart or Pamela Geller. They are such independent thinkers! So original! Which is why a book endorsed by Beck becomes a best seller.

Because the Tea Party people aren't followers. Oh no! They are boldly hosting rallies all by themselves, and are definitely not funded by anybody at all. Which is why their second ever convention was just canceled.

  • @Kestra84 Really? Is that what you think? Did you arrive at this thought through research, attending Tea Parties and interviewing people who identify with the Tea Party movement? Is that how you came to that conclusion?

Because it sounds just like you got your talking points from the same misinformed twits who report the news on MSNBC. It sounds just like you're only reiterating exactly what you've been told. Because you clearly have no clue who or what the Tea Party movement is about.

  • @Kestra84 "They are such independent thinkers! So original!" I don't think your sarcasm is necessarily indicting. The Tea Party never claimed to be independent or original. If that was their aim they wouldn't have named their movement after something old, would they? They'd call it something like MoveOn.org. No, the Tea Party is a reaffirmation of the old values that made America great, in light of the fact that the attempt at orginality called "progressivism" is sending America down the toilet.

  • @Kestra84 a little angry there ?

  • @Kestra84 We are independent thinkers inasmuch as we choose for our selves where to go to get educated. Are we original? No. But,the great truths are not original ideals, but ideals sanctified by the test of time. Their greatness comes from their very unorginalness. Liberty, limited government, capitalism, etc. have time & again been proven true by experience, but must be restated anew by each generation. To understand this movement,I susgest you read "Give Me Liberty" by Dick Armey & Matt Kibbe.

  • M. Obama said this at the 2008 Democratic Convention, "Barack told her as an organizer I start from where the world is, as it is, not as I would like it to be. That we accept the world as it is does not in any sense weaken our desire to change it into what we believe it should be. It is necessary to begin where the world is if we are going to change it to what we want it to be. That means working in the system." Tell them you are a capitalist so they will give you the power and then change it.

  • It happens over time working within the system. Alinsky said, "Remember we are talking about revolution not revelation. First there are no rules for revolution any more than there are rules for love or happiness, but there are rules for radicals that want to change their world. There are certain central concepts of action in human politics that operate regardless of the scene or the time. To know these is basic to a pragmatic attack on the system." It is our system that is corrupt by design.

  • ABC poll says over 50% of Americans believe the American dream is dead. This is what they call creating a reformation. Saul Alinsky taught them well in his book Rules for Radicals. "A revolutionary community organizer must shake up the prevailing patterns of their lives, agitate, CREATE disenchantment and discontent with the current values, to produce, if not a passion for change at least a passive, affirmative, non-challenging climate." This does not happen over night.

  • When he talks about going around the media this is what the progressives in government are feverishly trying to prevent with new regulations on the internet. Deeming the internet a utility after their front door assault failed with net-neutrality. I just wanted to say also that our system is broken by design meaning the progressives have infiltrated our system on all levels of government and are creating policies designed to fail. Our system must be purged. Take a look at the DOJ for example.

  • Tea party movement can Save America from Domestic Enemies - Libbie Demmies.

  • thumbs up

  • The left can't understand who and what the tea party is and it drives them nutz, because they believe they know everything and the tea party confuses that belief system.

Thank you for this video. God Bless the Tea Parties!

  • Any idiot who's even a little bit 'libertarian' or pissed off at big spending can become a 'tea partier.' That's why it's not really even that much of a movement! And there are so many kinds of tea partiers: ones who are hawkish on foreign policy, those who aren't; social conservatives and social moderates; a few libertarians here and there.

The tea partiers have squandered their opportunity to do something real by giving us these fringe candidates like Christine O'Donnell and Sharron Angle

  • @whoo689 What's sad is that the tea partiers will probably NEVER look at foreign policy overspending and really examine it in any substantive fashion. It's like all spending EXCEPT defense is on the table. Defense is "too precious" for us to touch. But we spend, what, at least 200-300 billion A YEAR on defense overall?? More than just about every other nation combined.

Until tea partiers start taking looking defense overspending in the eye and reject fringe bs, I can't respect em much.

  • @whoo689 Sure, the tea partiers ARE an alternative to Obama and the Dems, but SO WHAT. Why should I replace one evil with another? Lesser of 2 evils is ridiculous. It doesn't really get us anywhere. Libertarians have been playing this fusionist lesser of 2 evils bullshit game with conservatives for about the past half-century now, and it's gotta stop! We need to seriously align ourselves with GOOD libertarian factions from BOTH SIDES of the aisle and work hard for real limited gov't.

  • @whoo689 What about the War on Drugs? What about civil liberties? Do the tea partiers care about THOSE? You know, the OTHER freedom issues. Life is not all about money and spending. That's just one aspect.

  • @whoo689 Too often I see a lot of libertarians only bitching about, or mainly bitching about, liberalism, as if it's the WORST thing to ever happen. Yet they forget just how many LIBERAL-leaning positions they themselves have on issues (drug policy, abortion, gay rights and marriage, euthanasia, a more noninterventionist foreign policy, etc. etc.). And why is liberalism the ONLY bad ideology that's anti-freedom? What about the "family values" douchebags on the Right or bible-thumpers?

  • @whoo689 Libertarians, if they truly want to advance freedom nad limited gov't, need to stay nonpartisan, not aligning themselves with ANY one side for a long time period, esp. years on end. We need to align ourselves with those on both sides who also will advance our principles. But if those folks who will advance our principles on some issues also advance anti-freedom ones elsewhere, we need to tread cautiously. Libertarians should not be too quick to embrace tea partiers.

  • @whoo689 Years ago the man who introduced me to libertarianism explained it perfectly. The Republicans are the lesser of two evils because their agenda is so easy to shoot down. The Democrats, however, are harder to tackle because it's hard to explain why "helping people" is bad without people shutting you out. Their intentions are good but the means are horrible but most people can't separate the two.

  • @greyed The Ends Justify the Means is what you are saying in that comment. Create disenchantment then put the disenchanted on welfare and keep them there enslaved economically. Then point to them as America's failures in order to create a reformation for system change. Our system is capitalism. This is one of the means. This is system wide corruption creating policies designed to fail. The Ends are ushering America into a global government via debt. This will happen when the IMF bails us out.

  • @TheIAchilles Uh, no, that is not what I said at all.

Let me put it this way.

It is easier to argue for gay marriage (equal rights for all) than it is to argue against universal medical coverage.

  • @whoo689 Liberalism has shown it's ugly head, have you not been paying attention? You are so afraid of the christian right your missing the fact that Cass Sunstien says your Homer Simpson and you can't be trusted to make your own decisions so he will , using regulations to "NUDGE" you, manipulate you to make the right decision. Well the right decision as far as he's concerned. They have given you a straw man to be afraid of when it is they you should fear unless you are Homer and need government.

  • Thanks for an excellent video. The Tea Party principles are clearly spelled out.

  • @GammaSigmaBeta Agreed! Matt was interviewed on Fox this morning; the man knows of what he speaks. Today someone asked Michele Bachmann what the Tea Party stood for, and I loved it when she said..."The total opposite of what Obama, Pelosi and Reid stand for". Talk about comming highly recommended!
