  • Thanks for sharing this. This will help me greatly and keep the costs down

  • Great how-to. Thanks for taking to time to explain and explain well.

  • Great Video. A friend of mine was talking about doing this to her floors and this was very informative.

  • I have a small covered front porch (6' x 6')that I'm planning on overlaying with 1 1/2 to 2" of redi-mix portland then freehand stamp a "cobblestone" or "paverstone" look on it. I want the "rustic" look as opposed to a smooth finish. The existing rocks in my landscaping are various shades of grey which I would like to mirror image on my porch. Would I be better off using a powder stain as opposed to an acid stain? remember, a variation in color scheme is what I'm going for. Thx in advance. Troy

  • @ToBigWillie

The Envirostains grey (TL) may give you the antiquing effects you want but using powder is always a viable alternative but will not give you the antiquing look that puddles in the veins and creates that natural stone look

  • There are far too few videos of this quality and utility on the u(seless)tube -- thank you ever so much!

  • @HerrDoktorBrown

    Thank you sir

  • can you put a primer down to start to cover things that might not come up when cleaning i seen it done in another video just curious on anyones input

  • @rickymewis1983

I personally have never heard of or used any kind of a primer with an acid stain as a primer would not allow the acid stain to penetrate the concrete and therefore react with the concrete to create the color change needed

  • @jkgroom187 i was planning not to do an acid wash

  • @rickymewis1983

Then what you are planning to put down is basically a paint and if so then a primer would probably be a good idea but make sure to etch the surface in order to get a proper bond

If you are going to be in a high traffic area don't expect your"concrete stain" to last too long

    Hope that helps

  • Very clear and helpful step by step directions!

We are half way through with the stain in a 2400 sq foot home. We applied the sealer with a sprayer. Spraying enough to cover, it became very thick and had little bubbles all through it. We hope they will be gone in the morning!! Any suggestions?

  • awesome vid

  • I now feel confident that I can do this to my small room!

  • Excellent video. Thank you. Where do you buy the stains?

  • Very helpful

  • great vid. thanks
