@trigsams - lol! I was watching a clip of a scene from the movie "songcatcher" in my music history class, and looked up a woman who played a part on that movie and didn't realize it was the woman here named Pat Carroll. LOL! I always LOVED this cinderella. Oh by the way... I went back to school..I'm in my 30's.. So yea, I've seen this when I was a little girl in the 80's.
@neetrab ...Pat Caroll is 84 years old now and lives right down the street from my parents. Shes still very active and always funny, just like she was back then ! Shes a great woman...you can see her interviewed here on Youtube (in her house) if you type her name in the search bar
@trigsams - lol! wow.. down the street from you, huh? That's great. Yea, I knew she was up there in her 80's.. Thanks for telling me that she has an interview on youtube. I LOVE Youtube!!!
Is the one to the right Anastasia? If it is her, than she also seems more nicer than the other sister. Did the original story mentioned that she was the less evil sister?
@alonzo9772 I'm not sure, but the stepsisters' names were different in the 1964 version than the one with Whitney Houston and Brandy. I still like this version better :o)
@alonzo9772 In the musical, the stepsisters names are Joy and Portia. They're supposed to be ironic names; Joy is very obnoxious and lazy, and Portia (Named after the lawyer in the Merchant of Venice) was just dumb. They weren't too mean, but of the two Joy (blue) is meaner.
Barbara Ruick - who played stepsister Esmerelda - was in dozens of musicals, most memorably as Carrie Pipperidge in "Carousel" (1956). She passed away in 1974 at 43. At the time of her death she was married to composer John Williams.
i'm not that pretty so i kind of sympathize with the sisters. princes always go for the MOST beautiful girl, never the plain or so-so girls. shallow fairy tale men.
I loved watching this version as a kid and then Brandy had to make her own version with better costumes and sharper quality....damn you modern technology
@MermanJesse: really? That's pretty cool! I can see it - you know how they say Disney uses a caricature of the person who plays a part in their movies. When I look at her facial expressions, I can see it. Thanks for the trivia.
HAHA!!! I LOVE this song. I've been looking for it!! Is there a better recording on youtube though??

I remember watching this as a really little girl and being fascinated with their double-horned headdresses.

@squeapler I know, me too. I wonder now if they developed headaches wearing those things.
