  • Current Hollywood "stars"...take note: THIS it is how is it done.

  • UNIQUE! Meaning something that is one of a kind that stands out and people take notice. THIS IS SHIRLEY TEMPLE! Truly gifted from the Lord that she loves with all of her heart & confesses unashamedly!" There will never be another Shirley Temple!"I have heard since I was a child.I am now 61 and there never has been.I doubt that there ever will, especially the days of being so sweet and innocent as she was, seem to be over with kids being pushed to dress, talk and act too grown up before their time.

  • She is so great not only because she was lucky to be granted great physical apperance and talent by GOD but she also had courage, self confidence and that resistance not to be defeated in life but work hard to overcome problems and to achieve sth.

ı strongly wish I were like her.

  • i love hurr

  • Not anyone more deserving of a lifetime achievement award than Shirley. She had such strength of character she probably could have married Shatner and straightened him out! I bet people will still watch videos of her some hundreds of years from now.

  • 3:39

WOW! What a babe...Shirley Temple is so beautiful in that pic :)

  • Do you see that power? She has a gift to bring everybody together. She has that gift.

  • Oh sorry but has Shirley had a stroke or something, she looks very unsteady.

  • I'm glad she was never in The wizard of Oz. Imagine no Judy Garland. Of course she would have nailed it perfectly. There will NEVER be another Shirley Temple

  • Billy Wilder used the bit with the elevator boy when he did Some Like It Hot. "thats ok I like older women " was said to Daphne ( Jack Lemmon ) as he got into the elevator.

  • She has no rival.

  • Holy shit, is 2012 and i can't believe she is alive, i honestly thought that woman had been dead for years!!!

  • i started watching Shirleys movies when i was 4 and im 14 now;') im glad my mother showed me her<3

  • I'm a black man. I am also not ashamed to make it known that I love Shirley Temple. She was such a lovely person and she has aged so gracefully. God bless you Shirley. U light up the life of this world!!!

  • hear'))) SHIRLEY TEMPLE sing GET YOUR HAPPINESS@CS1938-2012 yet?

  • She still has her bubbly personality!

  • Although she no longer makes public appearances, it's so good to know that Shirley is doing well! I'd like to think I'm her biggest fan, but as is frequently the case...somebody out there is probably a bigger fan than I. It's great to hear she's working on her second book. When it's done, I'm buying it and putting it with Child Star! I was asked once: "If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?" My answer..."Shirley Temple Black!"

    God Bless You, Shirley Temple

  • Is it just me or did the faces of the actors in the crowd seem to show scowls???

  • @extracashnow she is truly a good soul.. not like actors/actresses today.... seems like all the newer generations are sleeping with everyone and everything and love their prescription pills and illegal drugs..... I bet Shirley is ashamed of Lindsay Lohan....

  • LIsten to that crowd!

  • she was "borrowed"?

  • SHIRLEYYYYY TEMPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE <3

  • she IS class.

  • I love her !!

  • She is a world treasure. She brings tears to my eyes because of the wonderful life she has led.

  • such a beautiful lady and such a beautiful little girl xxx

  • Let's keep in mind. In our USA We have the right to agree o disagree. But there is always one person who needs more attention so they are rude. But this person should be honor for all and some more. God bless her and family.

  • sup with her teeth, her upper lips looks unusually long, like a monkey or something. looks like plastic surgery to me

  • OMG! Jamie Lee almost took a tumble!!

  • im watching the tv ad for her right now

  • This was pitiful. She should have been honored in Washington DC with a National Award and in Hollywood in a spotlight ceremony where she walks out from backstage. Making an 80 yr old woman climb stairs! There should have been testimonials and the oldest biggest star presenting. How tacky this was and way too late. Do people even know how great this woman was. She gave her whole life to us. I love you Shirley!

  • @mvies77 be happy and stop all the rude comments

  • @chulahead1977The only rude comment on is yours.Let me see,oh great one, your majesty,or God,I must, what?Oh,right,be happy.Immediately, your majesty. Since you know me so well, I must obey.Oh,yes, I must not forget, do not be rude according to your definition.Only your opinion matters. No one else is allowed to make a comment in the comment. How dare I have freedom in America. May I make one last comment and

hope you approve? How dare you say defending Shirley Temple is rude! You are vile.

  • @mvies77 She WAS honored in Washington with a Kennedy Center Award in 1998, and also received a full sized Oscar at the Academy Awards in 1984 to replace the miniature that she got 50 years earlier. So, yes, Hollywood and Washington honored this great lady before this SAG appearance in 2006. She was also one of the former Oscar recipients to take a bow at the 1998 Oscars, where she got the longest and loudest applause of any other star. An accomplished woman who deserved every award

  • @Lampshade51 I know she was and she deserved every one of them and more. The point I made was that the SAG Award was pitiful. Making an eighty year old woman climb stairs instead of allowing her to come in from off stage was wrong. She had great difficulty climbing the stairs, even with help. Etc, etc. I have already commented on this. Again, my comment was on the SAG Award and I have the right to my opinion. It is not changing. It was not worthy of her, period!

  • @Lampshade51 In total agreement with you. I too remember the Academy Awards when they showed the past honorees, and how the audience reacted when she was announced. I wish someone could post that segment.

  • She's sooo pretty OMG her parents must be so proud!!! She's pretty since she was a baby wow!!!!

  • people she has been singing for basically her whole life. no duh her voice is like that.

  • hey thats the same narrator for when you go to Disney world.

  • ahhh chirley me sigo gozando con sus peliculas i love you

  • Shirley is a special and beautiful woman. But I worry about her voice here?

  • did jaime lee curtis trip?

  • @leya10089 Why would that matter! Oh my goodness!

  • @chulahead1977 cuz it was unexpected!

  • Excelente, no me extraña que sea indigo

  • So many, young and old, grew up with Shirley Temple. I'm 25 and grew up with her when i was a kid. My mother, whom is in her late 60s also grew up with Shirley. Bless you for being such a wonderful and awe-inspiring woman! Wish we had many more people, not just women, like her to look up to in this day and age. We love you Shirley!!

  • As of 2011, Shirley is alive and well living in Woodside, California near San Francisco. She is reportedly working on a second book, her first autobiography was published in 1989. Remarkable that the biggest child star of them all did NOT grow up a drunk, drug addict or die tragically young. Instead, she became an accomplished diplomat and US ambassador. A friend worked with her when she was Ambassador to Czechoslovakia in the 90s and said she was absolutely charming and very bright.

  • @Lampshade51, yes, she is charming and bright and most of all for you all to understand, she is very proud. Like all people who have natural gifts, she should be proud and let you know how much she appreciates that you are not.

  • love shirley. she is still beautiful. i met her when i lived in ca when i was little.

  • she is wonderful. forever young

  • she looks good for being old

  • she looks good for being old

  • her face is still the same like then <33 aww shes so cute! ^_^ :D love her! <3

  • She still has that sparkle :)

  • Shirley Temple was NOT signed by 20th Century-Fox; she was signed by The Fox Picture Corporation; it became 20th Century-Fox while she was there.

  • OMG, i'm still want to squeeze her cheeks, hahaha, she was so damn cute and pretty!

  • ughh.. i hate child stars.. their parents just want the money, they could care less about their child. Grr >.<

  • WHOAH! The boy behind her at at 4:13 looks just like Justin Bieber O.o

  • Wow,I'm such a big baby. I almost cried seeing her. I was a huge Shirley Temple fan when I was a little girl and now I have my little cousin who is 7 watching her movies and she's a fan. Glad to know she's still with us.

  • oh my gosh is she really still alive?!!!

I want to meet her omgomgomg

  • @AayJay94 She's 83 years old.

  • She is still alive. go , Shirley , 100 years old in 2028

  • KEBELLO102 SHIRLEY IS NOT DEAD SHE IS ONLY 83!!!!!!!!!

  • A true legend from the Golden Years of Hollywood. Very few are left. Always a class act, she almost seems out of place with all those freaks in the audience.

  • Shirley was originaly supposed toi be Dorothy in the wizard of oz. I wish She was. It would have been adorable

  • she's 83 just saw an interview she did on AMC a few months ago..she said the studios said she was two years younger until she turned 12

  • A great addition to the world frommher early years, and threw time.a great creation of God..I am 64 and can still watch her movies and smile*

And place her amoung all the *legends* of our time..

Great human being and during the depression was a left to so many down.

    Tony

  • she's still adorable!

  • WOW SHES STILL ALIVE :) GOOD JOB FOR HER

THE BEST TALENT IN THE WHOLE WORLD

GOD BLESS SHIRLEY TEMPLE , SHES LIVED THIS LONG, GOOD FOR HER

  • I cried and cried when she came on stage. I was born in 58 and watched all of her movies as a young girl. I read her bio many years ago as well. One thing that can't be faked or bought is dignity and that is the one characteristic that I've always attributed to Shirley Temple; both when she was a little girl and then as a mature women.

As silly as it may sound, I do wish she could live forever. Just knowing that she is still on the planet does make it seem like it could still all work out.

  • at 3:18 they messed up .. They said Child Actor , she was a Child Actress .. not actor .

  • @ 9:29 she still has that same cute smile

  • she still does those same faces as when she waas youngg,(:

  • the BEST!

  • I know she is alive!! i just want to see how many reply i get

  • Haha, that smile when she gets in front of everyone. That exact same smile.

  • i thought she passed way before i was born but guess not. i use to look like her when i was little when my aunt gave me paper nag curls

  • its so sad :( i use to watch ehr all the time now she's old i will always remeber that sweet little cutie . :)))

  • She attributed her not becoming a spoiled child or a dysfunctional adult to her mother Gertrude. Her mother got a lot of criticism for not letting Shirley socializing with other child actors but Gertrude was committed to giving her daughter a sensible foundation for a sensible life. So at home with her brothers Shirley was just their sister and they didn't hesitate to pick on her either. When Shirley finally got to go school, she quickly became a popular student leader, her fame aside.

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • When I was 2 I watched Shirley now I'm 14! I miss watching her movies!

  • She's 91!!

  • @kazrules2007 Shirley Temple was born on April 23, 1928. So she is 83 years, forever young.

Lets say she is 91, then she was born in 1920, and a teenager by the mid 30's.

  • @MCASE1 well...with the help of the plastic surgeon that is..

  • The girl to the left at 6:59 is that her granddaughter?

  • @EsmeraldaJ2011 Sure looks like her

  • i'm glad shirley temple became an actor, i don't know what my life would be like without that little ball of sunshine.

  • @kebello10 she is still alive

  • @MCASE1 is she? i thought no one new

  • @MCASE1 Not to me she's not........she knows what she did.

  • @kebello10

    lol what a burn

  • @kebello10 you're so silly... she as of today... is alive and with all of us.

  • I love you Shirley! Your still the most popular child star of all time :) . We all will never forget Shirley! ( If you don't know who Shirley Temple is then WoW! That's just wrongggg! :p

  • When I was 3 in 1999 my mom letted me pick out a movie durring that time I didn't even know Shirley Temple existed, but I picked out "Curly Top" because I thought the little girl on the cover was pretty, when I watched it I loved it.I'm 15 next month and now I laugh back at how silly I was,but I'm happy that I picked out that movie.

  • I love her! I have watched her since I was 3 I am now 12.....(:

  • she looks great for her age!

  • So awesome to see one of the last bastians of old Hollywood with the new hollywood.

  • @ccipollini1984 But so tacky and odd to have Jamie Lee Curtis present her with the award. Certainly they could've found many others more talented and qualified to hand it out...

  • @dannybex

    LOL, FAIL CLAPPING.

  • There is no need for bad language to be posted on youtube. There will only be one Shirley Temple Black Madame Ambassodor. She is wonderful.

  • the black guy seem to be cool

  • ayyyy natumba! hahahaha

    i love Shirley Temple!

  • They didn't do her justice with this award show,...to be honoring such an icon of American cinematic history,...they should have dedicated half the award show to her,...they should have played the entire goodship lollipop song & even animal crackers & some dance routines,....I'm surprised they didn't play music over her speech & cut to a commercial.

  • she is wonderful she lived a full life i really look up to her as an very insperatinal person thumbs if you agree with me

  • I haven't seen that many movies of her but I can still safetly say she is one of the greatest entertainers that has ever lived. Such a multitalented child she was, and she was the light in a time of great distress. I can even say she is a hero. i know close to nothing about her, but i admire her DEEPLY. I wish she could live forever.

  • she looks a lot different from the sweet little face to lots of feature as she got older, i wouldn't recognize her :o

  • 1:08 That girl can DANCE! :) Love her

  • i wanted to hear her sing "animal crackers in my soup!" :) lol

  • i saw all those movie cuz i have v1 v2 v3 so i saw all o them i just got them last week not the ones of big

  • i saw all those movie cuz i have v1 v2 v3 so i saw all o them i just got them last week

  • She is vary much Christian!!! I don't have to hear her say it, one just has to watch her life style, we are morally bankrupt!!

Family Values are gone. Sex and violence flood the streets like a open sewer. If we do not repent and turn back to GOD, we are done.

  • @buckbeak1965 AMEN!

  • Shirley Temple did her job as an actor. She entertained people. Job well done. :)

  • I love Shirley Temple! and the drink too lol

  • I love Shirley Temple!

  • Wow what an amazing person! Its is almost sad that that fun little bubbly curly haired little girl is not around any more but her legacy lives on heros are remembered legends are never forgotten!

  • What a woman! You can tell she was excited to be there. For her,it was a real honour. She actually had,& still has a REAL & POSITIVE affect on children & the world. The other actors there knew they could never be in her leauge,& never will.At least she did something meaningful w/her life instead of keeping her life on such a silly level as staying an actress. She's a good role model for everyone.Such a classy & careing human being!God bless Shirley Temple Black always!I still have my doll as well.

  • What? No Sex tapes bein leaked? No Gas station stick ups? No heroin addiction stints in rehab? Or maybe a pantyless snap shot climbing out of a sports car? Not even a girl on girl kiss at with a pop star at this award show? What about alligations of lewd activity with a minor? ?? Any drunk driving records? Wow what Child star school did she go to?

  • LOVE HER!

  • funny 90% of the crowd is complete liberal, what they got to say about Shirley being a complete Christian conservative? nah they don't call her names do they.

She is awesome God Bless her! <3

  • @Jiballin

I have no idea why you dragged partisan politics into this, but evidently her politics have nothing to do with her film career, nor do they seem to impact the respect the crowd shows her. Note also that she got a round of applause when she mentioned her government service. By the way, she is sort of a log cabin Republican, and never has been overtly "Christian". Her environmental views were very liberal.

  • @Lampshade51 Oh please shut up... every time someone is great, you liberals completely try to some how make them be Liberal. Just hush it

  • @Jiballin

I never said that Shirley was a Liberal! She is--as I said-- an old fashioned Goldwater/Log Cabin Republican (as I am), not a "Christian conservative" as you suggested. As far as her environmental views as concerned, she described them as "liberal" (her word) in various interviews. By the way, this is "liberal" as an adjective (with a small "l"), so don't freak out! :)

  • @Lampshade51 hah sorry!

Im so use to liberals doing that, they always make a (republican or old fashioned one, or conservative) they some how try to make them out to be a liberal. So I am use to that kind of reply. Forgive me lol

  • @Jiballin You tell em! Their mouths are too liberal & they're so busy yaking, they dont think b4 they speak. yak yak yak .& they don't understand that just because someone walks out of the room,it does'nt mean they get their way. There's freedom of speech,& then theres freedom of speech.Know what I mean? ...jelly bean. It's such a vicious..vicious circle.lol Anyway, shirley's the BEST!!

  • @Jiballin

Wow. Apparently, you have issues with those you perceive as "liberal". I suggest you seek help.

  • @Jiballin No they're not! 90% of the ppl in that crowd are brown-nosers.God bless Shirley Temple Black!

  • @Jiballin that's probably why it took almost 80 years to get that award.

  • wow, standing ovation for a long time. she totally deserved it though, she deserved everything she has. those actors were so lucky to even be in taht same place as her

  • @LittleMak1 A standing ovation to this comment!! Actors are pro.Liars.1st thing Jaimie lee said when she came out,& she's right!

  • Most child stars tend to lose their marbles in later life. Remarkable that Shirley Temple, the biggest child star of them all, turned out to be so together.

  • @Lampshade51 Jesus saves :D

  • AAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! I love Shirley Temple!

  • cool, Shieley still rules, tha's very flattering and people recognize your work and efforts, go girl!!!!!

  • Bravo &

    Thank you

    Shirley Temple!

  • She did the stair dance at 7:16 I love her!

  • Morgan looked like he was about ready to cry. Is that Jackie Chan in there?

  • Morgan looked like he was about ready to cry.

  • same facial expressions as she had as a child lol. just love this woman!

  • Awww shirley all grown up, becoming a mother and a political figure how nice.... tear :,-) Thank you shirley for your movies that me and my kids still watch today.

  • I like her accent! :-)

  • shirley is so wonderful. the world is a better place because of her. i love her dearly.
