  • sure. not the mot fair review, but it's still informative.

  • I don't wish to be rude but there is a clue in the name of the Liquitex: BASIC. It's a budget paint. You cannot make a fair or reasonable comparison with a brands (Liquitex) student paint with a GOLDEN - which is professional quality paint. A fair comparison would be Liquitex Professional Paint which comes in Soft Body, Heavy Body and Super Heavy Body; the "Heavy" relates to how thick the paint is and therefore can easily achieve the peaks you mention.

  • To long only saw 3 min... psst Liquitex basics are good but not as good as the higher viscosity

    LIQUITEX!!!

  • Not to be mean or any thing but did you know that white is the most opaque color in a pallet?

  • Liquitex heavy body (not BASICS) is considered professional along with Golden. Golden has a nice selection of neutral grays (about 8) but both have a large pallet of colors to choose from. I use both depending on what's on sale.

  • I don't understand why you compare 2 different type of paint. The basics are different than the heavy body. They should have told you in the artshop. If you have the heavy body Golden paint, you have to compare it with Liquitex HEAVY BODY. So not the basics.

  • your comparing Basic's and Goldens lolz Might as well bring in Nova color lolz

  • You can't compare Basics Vs. Golden. They are two different paints. Basics are not heavy body paints. A true comparison would be liquitex heavy body vs golden. The pigmentation of the two are pretty close. The Golden paints are much more vibrant although a lot more expensive. Liquitex has a consistant product as well. We need to compare apples to apples. AC Moore and Michaels are not places to buy these paints. Try Blick art materials.

  • @crazynye Blicks is actually more expensive. I would definitely recommend ASWEXPRESS or JERRYSARTARAMA. Both companies will beat any price and their prices are a LOT lower than BLICKS or any retail art supply store.

  • When comparing materials please try to do an apple to apple version and not apple to orange. I have used all types of acrylic paints and mediums and prefer goldan to any of them. Liquitex heavy body is comparable but it comes down to personal taste. Liquitex basics is low grade beginner paint. Have fum painting.

  • hmm i wouldnt compare basics to the golden brand because golden is more of a professional acrylic...i would compare golden heavy body to luquitex professional heavy body...IMO Liquitex Professional Acrylics are the best paints on the market, i personally use the soft body version...they all have the same amount of pigment weather you use soft, heavy, or super heavy...just sayin...Liquitex FTW!

  • Hi,I was wondering can I use liquitex on plastic models?are they glossy?

  • liquitex heavy body better than basics but basics are much cheaper but good if you are covering large areas.

  • I do not like the basics. I tried it alot but I like the more expensive smaller tubes, Them paints you are showing are not fine art. They are craft art paints. I dont like them at all. Sure they work good but not as good as some real expensive Fine Art Paints. Thanks for the Video.

  • does the liquitex work good at plasit and does it chip off

  • yea its hard as a academic painter or beginner to buy all theese paints i got alot of mine im talking the professional super heavy body liquitex colors and other merchendise for a dollar a jar!!!! if i dont get sale i get sets way easier, and now at michaels they have 50% off deals for 1 item on the receipts, where i live any way...soo yea also ebay has good deals, also art stores usually have restalks and throw away or put them on sale really cheap!!!

  • did you change your hair colour?

  • @jetsonjoe nope! I think the lighting makes it look darker :0)

  • Hey Emily, great stuff. Liquitex is great paint, what I used to use when I did acrylics. Their gesso is great too. Keep up the good work, would like to see more of your paintings. Your very cute too. may I say.

  • get into oil painting already don;

    t waste your time

  • Awesome vid!!

  • Hey nice video:) I just upgraded to Liquitex "Heavy Body" acrylics and they are so nice. Even though they are labeled as heavy viscosity, they are still much smoother than Winsor and Newton artist acrylics {which are great but stink!}. I wanna try the Goldens next since they supposedly have the highest pigment load. Have you tried any other brands since this video? You should try Liquitex Soft Body acrylics which have more pigment, but the same smoothness, as the Basics:)

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I have not had the chance to paint lately and try another brand. Though I will look into that and do another video when i get the chance! Thanks for the info!

  • I do not use water to mix my colors, but i do have mediums to change the textures of my paints. I have not gotten around to experimenting with them though... but I will give an update when i do!

  • Hi, just a question - do you use water to mix or have you tried any mediums? ..thinner?

I havent tryed Lequitex, but Iv heard they have a "pro version" thats much better than the studio version.

Right now Im testing "golden open" and the thinner medium seems great so far.. even better without water I think. Rockon :)
