Ok, for the record, all the metroids, (including the ones in the background of the game) in fusion, and the metroid queen from Other M, and the baby metroid from Super Metroid... All of these made their debut in Metroid II. Metroid II is arguably the most important plot point in the series, since it is the game where Samus singlehandedly obliterates metroids as a species. All metroids after II are clones or were taken from SR388 long ago. Fusion is indeed, the last game so far, chronologically.
so i'm guessing that this game takes place before metroid other m,so that would mean that in fusion they had the queens dna from return of samus,and that the x parasite infected it,but in other m,they could have made a clone and breed it,that would explain a part in the game where a creature in the ice was killed by what looked like to samus a metroid bite.
@Fagoala No, actually Fusion is the last in the saga. because adam is dead in Fusion, but not other m. Plus samus's power suit was destroyed. so she's stuck with that fusion suit of hers.
