Aircraft has plenty of room, the thing is the airlines order various seat configurations, some pack in more passengers than others. I've flown on 737s that had plenty of leg room in one airline case and another airline, same plane having minimum leg space.Just depends on the airline
I have travelled with the A380, great aircraft, I would like to travel with the A350, the 747-8, and the 787. I have been with a lot of aircraft, and I think it would be nice to try out these new planes! Although I think that the good old window shades were more cost efficient, and the LED lighting is more of an optional feature to me. The only thing Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier and many other aeronautic companies should focus on is the environment, I know that the A350, 747-8, and the 7
@jackspoorwijk Not necessarily. If you are seated in the correct position, and the crash isn't that severe, you'd still survive a plane crash. How old are you anyway? I'm only 12 and I know that. Dumb fuck.
@MoustachesAreEpic If the crash isn't severe you saying. But based on statistics im telling you: 70% of all plane crashes are fatal and 11% of all car crashes are fatal ( yes i looked it up )
so who is a dumb fuck now? I think you understand now that you are... bitch
@jackspoorwijk I am just a 12 year old trying to point out some faults in your comment. Seriously. Stop douching about. Statistics show you are 1 billion times more likely to die in a car crash than a plane crash. Facts before coming up with a conclusion. Learn to spell too. I think you need to go back to elementary/primary school.
@MoustachesAreEpic Thats based on statistics that are seperate. ofcourse, then car crashes look more fatal cause there are so many car crashes and plane crashes are not an everyday happening. and why are you even saying you;re 12 for the second time now, what do you think I am...a science expert of some sort.
and for you;re information i live in the netherlands and have nothing to do with english so fuck off you should be happy my english is this good.
It's still a tin can with wings. Tell me when the next innovative plane has a parachute and escape hatch for each passenger. That's the plane I will fly in.
@DuhEnlightenedOne I'd recommend taking a moment to just look into the design and safety of aircraft.. Every time you drive you are on the road with barely trained people with highly unstable vehicles. Aircraft are intensely regulated with some of the most highly trained and frequently tested people in any industry.
@Garp05 "Regulations" don't keep people safe, keeping your center of gravity 3 feet off the earth's surface is what keeps you safe. "Regulations" is the thing the government tells you to make you think your safe so that they can get you into the airplane. The fact is, the more you fly, the more likely you are to die in a plane.
@DuhEnlightenedOne Yeah sure, go on a boat, and fucking die in the sea. Problem solved? No. No matter how safe something is, there's still a danger factor to it, even standing up. The wind can blow you over, you'll get hurt. Sometimes you'll have to take risks. Like Captain Cook who risked his life to discover a new land. You have to be curious to discover things, not one of those safety freaks.
@DuhEnlightenedOne here solution for u buddy.. buy a private jet and bring 2 parachute bag at ur back... and remember if u get to poop dont loose those parachute! just keep u to safe LOL
@minfrom It is safer, it is more efficient. It has the best airexchange/humidity/temp system in the history of the airplane, largest windows that tint electronically. But mainly it will move people/cargo at a lower cost per ton
@minfrom Besides all the stuff mentioned in the video, the plain is made with composite carbon-fiber and plastic, which decreases fuel usage by 20-30%.
juuls26 I'm well aware of what a Euro is thanks, I just like to call Europeans Euros.
Airbus sells in far more markets than the just the US so I'm not sure what your point is regarding the exchange rate. As far as Airbus being "properly" subsidized I'm fairly certain that being owned by a consortium of governments who provide price supports is more of a subsidy than Boeing merely doing a lot of business with the government.
Euros the plural form of the name Euro: A name of a currency. A currency can't give a subsidy, And FYI the Euro is stronger than the US Dollar right now which means that when Airbus export their product it is more expensive and less competitive than a product produced in the USA. If you meant that the European Union (EU) is giving Airbus a subsidy they properly are, however Boeing is subsidised by the US government.and more so, especially in the military products division.
I avoid flying. I dont appreciate being molested by tsa and theres not enough for me to be comfortable. Id lose my mind if I had to be on one of those things for an 18 hour flight to japan or something. It is a pretty cool plane(before the airplanes turn it into an uncomfortable virus spreading deathtrap)
Boeing can produce it..BUT the Airlines will NOT do it. They are going to CRAM IN THE MOST SEATS...they can suggest all day long..but Southwest, American, Delta, and the rest...ARE going to make the seats narrow, and cramped.
@UFOSPACE1999 that's exactly what I thought too. Look how spacious it is inside (even in Economy/coach class) but, like you said, all airlines will get greedy and continue to make it a terrible experience. Sad, especially when Boeing is trying to make flying enjoyable and comfortable for all flyers.
@janluigiflash LOL I know, but well... yeah, nothing new to see here. However, the greater the competition between Boeing and Airbus, the greater the airplanes. Soon, all those good ol' 757 will be out of service and we'll have individual lcd screens and roomy seats in every single plane, nice, modern and good looking planes :)
I don't see how Business and First class passengers are going to be thrilled with the "open architecture" design that doesn't provide shelter from the cramped and noisy economy class.
which i love this planes hi tech, and it's size is the most sold? but boeing should have built a double decker, blended/or tube to match airbus super jumbo sells.i understand many disagree w/ me thats o.k. but i feel boeing and america lost a little when they got surpassed in total #'s sold and the largest airliner! now w/ the finical market there no way to do it now, giving less time to matchplus more, because airbus w/ be building a improved verison of it's world only super jumbo just thinking
Like how they said every set is a window seat. Well this might be true in First Class what about Coach? Do think I don't see those back there. It look worse then they do now! I'll have ne knee touching my back.
Boeing, Airbus, et al. can build them as pretty as they want. The airlines will continue to make flying horrific by cutting out all of the bells and whistles, cramming 27 coach seats into each 3 sq ft of the cabin, and properly cleaning the inside of the planes only every 5 years. :(
@4000ChacoRoad I can remember when the 747 was new. We got the same type of advertising then. 40 years later, I'm still waiting for that kind of personal space and luxury. Maybe Emirates 1st class...(?)
They compress them in the jetway and expand them in the airplane. Sounds like a sexual thing to me.. Sperm shot through the penis and exploding into a vagina!
All that aside, you know airlines are going to pick 9-abreast seating..
@03focussvt943 How is that dumb? I'm comparing commercial airplanes, and the A380 is better than all standards in my opinion. Airbus is a Boeing wannabe? That's why American Airlines is replacing over half of its fleet with Airbus, and many domestic airlines many of their fleet with Airbus. It is just personal opinion I guess....
@ntaylor97 Youre comparing two different class airliners, thats why its dumb. Would you compare a Rolls Royce Phantom to a BMW 750, too? And yes, Airbus wouldnt be anything w/o Boeing. Boeing revolutionized commercial air travel, back when Airbus wasnt even a twinkle in anyones eye yet. Sure Airbus puts out some nice aircraft, but give credit where credit is due. The A380 is just a modern 747, 45+ years late to the party.
Renatta Adler called the 747 "the slum of the air". 787? Same slum. Just bigger. Boeing may sell it for it's "spacious, open feel" but you can bet that any airline that buys it is gonna cram as many seats as possible into that extra space to accommodate more of the obese, unwashed, and uncivil masses that are today's typical airline passenger.
@03focussvt943 "You might want to get your crap straight before you post." I am trying to understand the connection between bowel movements and airplanes, but I am at a total loss. Anyway, if even there something I could take (a stool hardener, perhaps?) that would straighten out my crap, why would want to?
it doesn't not matter about who builds the tube they will still cram them as full as they can to increase profit so the finished interior is going to be nothing like the ad wants you to believe you will still have only the minimum leg room they can get away with.
It has a nice interior but I WANT TREES GROWING IN THE MIDDLE AISLE AND NO PLASTIC OR WHATEVER THAT WHITE MATERIAL IS AND A HUUUUGGGEEEE POWDER ROOM!!!!!!!!11111oneoneoneoneone
the only true revolutionizing i can see is the boeing 797 blended body aircraft, the 787 looks nothing more than a 737 with a make over, the overall desighn of the plane is nothing new, now that cockpit looks great for the pilots to use, that is advanced and looks really good, but for the people in the back rows, unless you spend the money for the buisness class seats the plane is not any different than planes ive flown on before. it's the 797 that the world should be buying into
@skyhawk551 that's what I say, 787 is similar to 767, just more fuel efficient, different materials and a few cosmetic bells and whistles. not sure if the 797 will ever take off before year 2200.
I'm sorry, but I have to say two things about their comments. 1. LED lighting is not organic nor is it anything near natural. It causes severe eye strain so it makes you sleepy. 2. Dynamic polarization in window tenting has been around for nearly 10 years. Who ever supervised the making of this "public relations/ sales" should be fired for misleading, over selling, and just making statements that are not true.
By the way, if you want to revolutionize public aviation, focus on coach.
@terenfro1975 Well, they may use OLED technology which means it is both organic and natural, being made of organic materials. As for the eye strain, Im suspecting you won't be staring at the LED's and the light will be a general color, like any light source would create, just more uniform.
Lastly, Dont revolutionize coach, all we've gotten from that was stupid saddle seats!
@terenfro1975 I agree with you completely..all airlines from QF to SQ & every one in between focus on nothing but the hight-yield P/J product..it's tiresome...If Boeing thinks the 787 is going to revolutionise airtravel I'm yet to be convinced.
A380 A340 rip off, when it came to Open space, they've only enhanced it a little, anyway. the A350 Beat the A787 when it comes to cabin technology and confort. Just wait boeing just wait.
The Boeing 747 is still the legend in Aviation History. It has carried over 780 million people around the world since it's debut. It doesn't matter how great planes will be in the future because Americans invented it first. It's written in history and no-one can ever change that.
I sure get tired of these Boeing/EADS cat fights, mostly by people like me who know nothing more about commercial aviation than what they read in RSS feeds and weekly news magazines.. Give it a rest folks.
It's probably better to fly, but i' m convinced us passengers aren't going to see a difference. Apart from the bigger windows it's ultimately up to the airline to decide the interior fixtures. I mean seriously, emirates airbus a380 has a shower. However i flew on the Qantas airbus a380 in economy, it's just like any other plane. So the bottom line is If you can afford it you will definitely see a difference, but for the average folk, this new plane isn't anything special.
well done boeing, you have once again proved to be off the ball! Mood lighting?? bigger windows? jesus, they have mood lighting and environmental controls on most long haul aircraft mostly Emirates! how about getting me there in more comfort and speed?? bigger seat? luxury toilet? nope, instead your show case is a bigger window and some mood lighting coupled with a plastic airframe CLAP CLAP!
I dont know but on almost on every airline the service sucks.I flew on Lufhana and all i got was some sweaty mini sandwhich and a drink.I wanted to ask for more, but dont know if thats appropiate lol :P I dont care about blue lights, that wont change the feeling and the magic in flying for me.Its all about service and environment ;)
@nosaltadded How comfortable a plane will be is ultimately decided by the airline not the maker, its simple as that. So for example if you fly on a 87 owned by top notch singapore airlines, it will be more comfortable than, say, a low rung airline such as continental.
For those who are amazed by this design, I have to remind you that the final looks of each airline's planes is up to each airline! For example, United Airlines could want to make a bar in front of the exit while Boeing's example may be different.
now all it needs is a jacuzzi and a convertible top and it will be the nicest limo.LOL JK. I do like the more open floor plan and the colorful mood lighting. I like how the plane makes you feel comfortable, even before you sit down.
They obviously showed the least dense configuration... don't expect to see them on any airline. It'll all be crammed seats and hardly any leg room for y'all!
All these Airbus fanboys are shitting their pants because they're about to get royally scrwed by the more advanced Dreamliner. a TRUE engineering marvel.
@goodfella21f .....Ummm, having flown on the A380, I do think the Airbus 380 shits on the Dreamliner in every respect. The Dreamliner is just a glamorous version of the old 737's with a huge chunck taken out of the main entry way, and a variety of coloured lights to "recreate" time zones (yeah right.....the gimmick of the century).
The A380 was nothing other then an outdated response to the the 747. Boeing already has a tried and true jumbo jet, so they looked to the futur: fuel efficiency and comfort. In short, Airbus is already working on a competing aircraft bc the 787 is in a class of its own. Airbus merily coppies what boeing does bc frankly, boeing is a much better company
@ThomasAUSTRALIA1 like kingslimjeezy said... Boeing is a true innovator... Airbus is nothing more than a response company.... they respond to anything Boeing does... because Boeing sets the precedent.... and the A380 is just a saggy RESPONSE to the 747!!, and doesn't even fit in most airports... the 787 IS ACTUALLY in a class of its own... wouldn't surprise me if the Europeans tried to copy that as well.
@goodfella21f It's true, take a look at the interior. Also both are: Long range, mid-sized, wide-body, twin engine aircraft. The interior was just basically a final slap in the face :P
Not to mention soon as Boeing announced this, they responded with the A350... although it is a couple years behind the 787 in development.
a response 20 years later, the 340 was what the had to rival 747. all these new aircraft offer basically the same PP and airframe, they show case them with all these "OHHH Mood lighting" and "we now have enought storage space for 4000 b class movies!" why cant they just bring back a concore upgrade of some type? im sick of long haul flying for hours!
@colemanmills Concorde was a money loser for it's operators. that's why only state financed airlines operated them. when you have to charge $2500.00 a ticket you lose your shirt. look for A380's to become rarer as the economy gets worse. another Potemkin village airplane like the concorde. Too big & heavy for most airports. the Industry is changing, & airbus has not changed with it.
@kdraper2007 I guess you have been reading alot of Boeing propaganda. Of course this is what Boeing would like you to beleive.
Truth is there is room for the A380 and 787/A350. There are more people flying today than there ever has been and every year more and more people are flying - so it makes sense that aircraft capacity will need to increase. A380 has been designed for the next 20 - 30 years of flight and by that time I think you wil find it is Boeing that needs to change.
@colemanmills Uh, no. All these new aircraft do not "have the same airframe" as you so eloquently put it. In the 787's case, it has a fully composite fuselage.
No one offers a larger toilet . No matter how big the plane the toilet is still the size of a suitcase. Trying to have a body wash on a long haul flight is still a nightmare. Not to mention the humiliation of trying to take a crap. For the record I am neither skinny nor supersize.
In the world of cars you have all the forgettable brands and models and then once in awhile you have an awesome, sexy classic. This plane is going to be a classic.
Airbus is as good as done after the WTO ruled against them. With the loss of the US Airforce tanker contract, now no funding for the A-380, they are in huge trouble. Now lets see how Airbus does after they loose their $50 Billion Euro a year subsidy. They are truly stewed, screwed, and tattoed!!!!! Now they are going to have to compete against Boeing on their own merits, and we all know how that one is going to turn out, not well at all for Airbus!
hey boeing you got the build a bigger plane! the 747 + wide bodies has been pass up. up are now #2 because you allowed yourself to relax with good enough, has the leadership fell asleep at the wheel ???? your 787 is nice but it still smaller than airbus, people was a huge plane REMEMBER WHY EVERONE WANTED A 747 ?
People might want it but airlines (the ones who are actually buying the planes) don't. The larger the plane the more it cost to operate it with rising fuel cost and expensive maintenance. Every wanted the 747's in the 60's & 70's because fuel was much cheaper back then and the jumbo jets were used for short 3 or 4 hour flights, which is not the case anymore.
I WANA GO ON IT!!

Boeing may sell it for it's "spacious, open feel" but you can bet that any airline that buys it is gonna cram as many seats as possible into that extra space to accommodate more of the obese, unwashed, and uncivil masses that are today's typical airline passenger.

@anotherjoe50 Sad but true... used to be an adventure to fly... now it's an endurance trial!!!

@03focussvt943 "You might want to get your crap straight before you post." I am trying to understand the connection between bowel movements and airplanes, but I am at a total loss. Anyway, if even there something I could take (a stool hardener, perhaps?) that would straighten out my crap, why would want to?

Darkrunner1975 7 months ago
it doesn't not matter about who builds the tube they will still cram them as full as they can to increase profit so the finished interior is going to be nothing like the ad wants you to believe you will still have only the minimum leg room they can get away with.

BF3Enthusiast 10 months ago
the only true revolutionizing i can see is the boeing 797 blended body aircraft, the 787 looks nothing more than a 737 with a make over, the overall desighn of the plane is nothing new, now that cockpit looks great for the pilots to use, that is advanced and looks really good, but for the people in the back rows, unless you spend the money for the buisness class seats the plane is not any different than planes ive flown on before. it's the 797 that the world should be buying into
skyhawk551 10 months ago

By the way, if you want to revolutionize public aviation, focus on coach.
terenfro1975 11 months ago
@terenfro1975 you obviously misunderstood what was said in the video not to mention wrong on other aspects
AdverbAdjective 11 months ago
@terenfro1975 Well, they may use OLED technology which means it is both organic and natural, being made of organic materials. As for the eye strain, Im suspecting you won't be staring at the LED's and the light will be a general color, like any light source would create, just more uniform.
Lastly, Dont revolutionize coach, all we've gotten from that was stupid saddle seats!
MarineAquatic 10 months ago
@terenfro1975 I agree with you completely..all airlines from QF to SQ & every one in between focus on nothing but the hight-yield P/J product..it's tiresome...If Boeing thinks the 787 is going to revolutionise airtravel I'm yet to be convinced.

The Boeing 747 is still the legend in Aviation History. It has carried over 780 million people around the world since it's debut. It doesn't matter how great planes will be in the future because Americans invented it first. It's written in history and no-one can ever change that.

All these Airbus fanboys are shitting their pants because they're about to get royally scrwed by the more advanced Dreamliner. a TRUE engineering marvel.
goodfella21f 1 year ago
@goodfella21f .....Ummm, having flown on the A380, I do think the Airbus 380 shits on the Dreamliner in every respect. The Dreamliner is just a glamorous version of the old 737's with a huge chunck taken out of the main entry way, and a variety of coloured lights to "recreate" time zones (yeah right.....the gimmick of the century).
ThomasAUSTRALIA1 1 year ago
@ThomasAUSTRALIA1 I dissagree whole heartedly, here is why:
The A380 was nothing other then an outdated response to the the 747. Boeing already has a tried and true jumbo jet, so they looked to the futur: fuel efficiency and comfort. In short, Airbus is already working on a competing aircraft bc the 787 is in a class of its own. Airbus merily coppies what boeing does bc frankly, boeing is a much better company
KingSlimjeezy 1 year ago
@ThomasAUSTRALIA1 like kingslimjeezy said... Boeing is a true innovator... Airbus is nothing more than a response company.... they respond to anything Boeing does... because Boeing sets the precedent.... and the A380 is just a saggy RESPONSE to the 747!!, and doesn't even fit in most airports... the 787 IS ACTUALLY in a class of its own... wouldn't surprise me if the Europeans tried to copy that as well.

comparing A350 to 787, LOL
goodfella21f 1 year ago
@goodfella21f It's true, take a look at the interior. Also both are: Long range, mid-sized, wide-body, twin engine aircraft. The interior was just basically a final slap in the face :P
Not to mention soon as Boeing announced this, they responded with the A350... although it is a couple years behind the 787 in development.
Daniel7681 1 year ago
@goodfella21f Yay! Somebody who agrees with my thoughts!
TheAirvisionist 1 year ago
@goodfella21f
a response 20 years later, the 340 was what the had to rival 747. all these new aircraft offer basically the same PP and airframe, they show case them with all these "OHHH Mood lighting" and "we now have enought storage space for 4000 b class movies!" why cant they just bring back a concore upgrade of some type? im sick of long haul flying for hours!
colemanmills 1 year ago
@colemanmills Concorde was a money loser for it's operators. that's why only state financed airlines operated them. when you have to charge $2500.00 a ticket you lose your shirt. look for A380's to become rarer as the economy gets worse. another Potemkin village airplane like the concorde. Too big & heavy for most airports. the Industry is changing, & airbus has not changed with it.
kdraper2007 1 year ago
@kdraper2007 I guess you have been reading alot of Boeing propaganda. Of course this is what Boeing would like you to beleive.
Truth is there is room for the A380 and 787/A350. There are more people flying today than there ever has been and every year more and more people are flying - so it makes sense that aircraft capacity will need to increase. A380 has been designed for the next 20 - 30 years of flight and by that time I think you wil find it is Boeing that needs to change.
whitireia 1 year ago 2
@colemanmills Uh, no. All these new aircraft do not "have the same airframe" as you so eloquently put it. In the 787's case, it has a fully composite fuselage.
FuzedBox 1 year ago

You said it , brother! Airbus is already at the drawing table trying to come up with a response to the dreamliner
KingSlimjeezy 1 year ago
No one offers a larger toilet . No matter how big the plane the toilet is still the size of a suitcase. Trying to have a body wash on a long haul flight is still a nightmare. Not to mention the humiliation of trying to take a crap. For the record I am neither skinny nor supersize.

Conservativepacheat 1 year ago
@Conservativepacheat
