heyy man, i have had dreads put in using the backcombing metod, but id perfure them like yours, if i just wash them, will they do the rest, like dread as they grow, or do i have to knot up the hair as it grows or what man, please get back to me, thanks :) awesome dreads btw man !

I just had a lady from Jamaca do my daughters hair in dreads- now i will say there was a bit of an understanding issue between us but the long story short is:She used 2&1/2 100g gram jars of Murrays beeswax and truned her hair into an oil slick.Seriously thick with wax.She did not knot it or tie it-just told us to dry it and thats it.How badly did we get squewed? Took 2 days to get the stuff out and now we want to try again with no wax.I want to know if i was cheated or what?!...

@zackz22 sure, the more hair u use for making a single dread, the bigger it gets afterwards. but you'll have more dreads when you pick thin dreads ;)

When i palm roll my new dreads they get back to straight where a comb can move freely through them. I'm also having trouble with the tips, they are just there and everynight even my tightest dread comes undone.. Someone help I really want to keep these

i haven't cut my hair for like three years it's naturally curly different lengths and lots of split ends. so i'm wandering if i have to do something other then palm rolling. or will they naturally occur on their own. i also use old spice hair and body wash and with the state of my hair i don't think they will come undone. need advice and seems like your the one which makes most sense for my hair and what i'm tryin to do.

@brittneytaryn If you choose neglect or freeform the new growth will either join into another dread or start forming a new dread. It's pretty common to have some loose hair above the ears and at the base of the neck.

And Im getting dreadlocks...Two reasons for waiting so long is, It takes a while in the process of them. my hair was 5-6 inches when I backcombed it, and it has stayed that length for almost 7 months now due to the shrinking/growing process. I would start them at the length you would prefer because for the most part they don't stop shrinking and start gaining length for a long time.

Mostly I don't fix up the roots because its very time consuming and they will eventually catch themselves into the dread but when there is a time i need to make it a bit clean looking I will just tuck them into a nearby dread or roll them in.
