My father remembers exactly the day John Lennon died and he tells me the whole world stopped and cried. We are Brazilian and he tells me that there were people in Sao Paulo trying to kill themselves after they heard the news.Of course MJ's death was shocking, but everyone who lived to see both tragedies know that Lennon's assassination was the most shocking moment in modern music. I mean, it was 1980! No internet, no sophisticated means of mass communication and still the world stopped that day.

Michael Jackson among so many other artists of music today are influenced by The Beatles and of course, John Lennon.
