Lucas fucked up EVERYTHING in the prequels, everyone knew what was going to happen and how it was supposed to happen, except Lucas. He even managed to fuck up pre-established things! Anakin was a great pilot, He knew he had a son and wanted him to become a jedi, he gave obi-wan his lightsabre, he must have know Owen Lars well, cause Owen wouldnt allow it - Yoda Instructed Obi-Wan, Leia remembered her mother etc. None of this happened, instead we got a tons of shit just crowbarred in.

Some act like 14yr olds who are just want more "cool stuff" in the movies, Like Seeing Darth Vader in Ep1. Sure, there are some things that could have been done better or changed but the exact same could be said for the originals. At the end of the day it's George's saga, We are just here along for the ride.

You guys are silly, you don't watch Starwars for the story, just the amazing futuristic visuals and the music. The prequels had some amazing visualization to me and some great John Williams. its like a $100 million mockup of what the future might be. That's all. @Sheriefabraham Actually once upon a time we did watch these movies for the story. The special effects were meant to compliment the story rather than being the only worthwhile things about the films. Sadly around 1981 George decided that character, story, humour were no longer important. It's a shame that there are people like you only to eager to prove him right.

I want to see the original desolate, seedy looking "Wretched hive of scum, and villainy" Mos Eisley - NOT the new "Hey look, the Circus is coming to town!" version. I don't mid the Prequels, it's the changes he keeps making to the originals that bugs me. I don't like to watch Han turning into a cardboard cut out that they slide up to step on Jabba's tail, and I really don't like the circus parade at Mos Eisley that cuts in front of the original scene with Obie wan using the Jedi Mind Tricks on the Storm troopers. I'm not buying the Blu-Rays until G.L. restores the originals to 1977 specs.

it is a real world issue, because he won't release them. also they are on dvd as bonus features of the 200? releases, but they have been color corrected and edited with computers. That isn't what i grew up watching and is not want i want to watch today.
@DrSacapuntas They are on a 2006 release... 2 disc edition of film, includes the theatrical edition. And it isn't a real world issue. Personally I really don't see what the big fuss is, I love all 6 films and think they are enjoyable and entertaining. I wasn't really fussed on the changes, I didn't see the need for them, but I don't find them a big deal. But my advice is, if you really hate something then ignore it and move on.
see you first were introduced to the later movies and then went back and watched the OT, whereas a lot of people grew up watching the OT. you just don't have the same connection to it as some people.
Yes it does matter what way I, personally watch the movies, because i want to watch them the way i watched them years ago. If people today want to watch movies with extra CGI shit flying around, that is fine, but i don't want that in my movies. I don't care if they keep releasing the SE versions, but they should make a real effort to release the original cuts of the movies as well. That's all i'm saying.

Its amazing how much Lucas destroyed Star Wars with all the new iterations and tweaks. The prequels were flat out awful, the best versions are the original theatrical trilogy digitally enhanced. No additions, just improved audio and picture and thats it, no new cg shit, no alternate end scene in ROTJ, no jabba in a new hope, no greedo shooting first, or stupid song in Jabba's palace. The original films, where you create in your own mind the prequels and story of Anakin, not the shit he made.

The third Star Wars movie was the best of the prequels, they did a pretty excellent job showing the transition and tieing all of the different aspects in together. It won't change anything unfortunately, It's just an example of someone who was once on top of the world losing his touch and being so isolated by his fame that no one would or could get through to him. Patton's just reflecting how a lot of people who grew up on these movies feel about the prequels. My guess is that by the time the new movies were in pre-production that everyone working for him was much younger than he was and had idolized him as kids and therefore thought he could no wrong.

see you first were introduced to the later movies and then went back and watched the OT, whereas a lot of people grew up watching the OT. you just don't have the same connection to it as some people.

Yes it does matter what way I, personally watch the movies, because i want to watch them the way i watched them years ago. If people today want to watch movies with extra CGI shit flying around, that is fine, but i don't want that in my movies. I don't care if they keep releasing the SE versions, but they should make a real effort to release the original cuts of the movies as well. That's all i'm saying.

Also as I have said, if you hate the new versions and the prequels so much. Ignore them, just get the 2006 release of the OT with the original versions and be happy. Life is too short for hating.

@elecks441 Prequels piss on the original trilogy basically. All the reasons Patton mentions are why many people were disappointed. How could someone mess up the origin of Darth Vader? It was probably best that his origin wasn't told anyway. Do the prequels add anything substantial to what we already knew in the Original Trilogy? Its amazing how much Lucas destroyed Star Wars with all the new iterations and tweaks. The prequels were flat out awful, the best versions are the original theatrical trilogy digitally enhanced. No additions, just improved audio and picture and thats it, no new cg shit, no alternate end scene in ROTJ, no jabba in a new hope, no greedo shooting first, or stupid song in Jabba's palace. The original films, where you create in your own mind the prequels and story of Anakin, not the shit he made.

The third Star Wars movie was the best of the prequels, they did a pretty excellent job showing the transition and tieing all of the different aspects in together. Star Wars fans will complain just like Star Trek fans and comic book fans and graphic novel fans and pretty much all fans. Nobody fully likes something unless they make it themselves

It won't change anything unfortunately, It's just an example of someone who was once on top of the world losing his touch and being so isolated by his fame that no one would or could get through to him. Patton's just reflecting how a lot of people who grew up on these movies feel about the prequels. My guess is that by the time the new movies were in pre-production that everyone working for him was much younger than he was and had idolized him as kids and therefore thought he could no wrong.

Someone should have had this conversation with George Lucas before he made these films and saved many millions of people the trouble. That's what is so shocking to me, is that not one person told Lucas how bad the stories were and how atrociously written the dialog was. These movies and this director had it coming.
