  • i'm glad you bring this stuff about contention medicine up: I call it "mainstream" medicine. I was lucky, my mom got sick of doctors and mainstream medicine early, so I started with alternative forms of medicine early and have tried everything short of a shaman. Doctors are amazing with emergency situations, but really cannot solve chronic conditions! You seem like a lovely intelligent young lady, keep studying holisitc medicine and stay observant of these things, you will find answers!

  • I agree with you 100% It took my specialist 6 months before he asked me about my diet and excerise. They put me on medication to increase my salt intake with increase my water intake but I just don't feel like drinking or eating I just don't feel it at all. Hope you are going good!

  • Stop eating all sweeteners and refined grains, including Cheerios. Don't ever drink tap water again!!! I saw you doing both in another video. Your problems are not in your head they are in your diet. Mercury from vaccibes and fillings and irradiation from x-rays are also causes of disease. Stay away from your doctors, throw away any medicaitons, they have absolutely no clinical relevance Eat a high saturated fat diet.

go to westonaprice . org and find our for yourself!

  • @busybuzzbuzz that video is old and i do neither of those things anymore!

  • hey shan, I literally started skipping through at about 14 seconds. lmao

  • Let's keep up the GoPetition . com for Increased Awareness of Dysautonomia....Leah put it up a while ago.

I'm hoping that we can 'rev it up' for 2011.... the delay in diagnosis is something that should no longer happen. LoLv to you and wishing you well this Holiday. It seems I have to sleep every day for 3 hours, but I have also been getting dressed and getting out of the house, too :=). Mostly loving my time with my little one....she keeps me going, even on a cloudy day! LoLv.

  • It really is. I was diagnosed in like 98. & I am now 42. Seems like forever!

  • You are so right! I went through some of what you endured, and was also told that it must be in my head, and I got put of pyschotic meds that just whacked me out even more. But, then, I got lucky, and went to this old, wizened doctor, who had been in practice for over 50 years. After just a short physical exam, he told me what was wrong, prescribed a drug, and I was cured within 10 days.

  • @birddog2017 i'm glad you found a good doctor :)

  • What's the book you mentioned? I'm interested... And the diet thing sounds interesting too...

  • @shanyingli09 It's called "Staying Healthy With Nutrition"!

  • oh, when I say 'for me it was the opposite' that is a new paragraph.. haha!.. in response to something else you mention on the video

  • It's just terrible. I think at every single appointment with someone new I got the same 'anxiety'.. 'it's like which came first.. the chicken or the egg'.. etc etc. For me it was the opposite, I started with a natropath and went on a spcialised elimination diet (they diagnosed me with Candida.. but I knew instinctively that it was not that).. it didn't do anything. neither did Accupuncture.

  • i know..i hate the word anxiety! so sick of it!

  • had to push the 'like' button twice, but I got it to 'count'! Great info.....and good job increasing awareness. Hope this situation changes for 2011....hoping to make a great impact. Great job for all you and the POTSIES have done for 2010!!

  • @DysautonomiaMD thanks margaret! hope you are doing well!!

  • I agree with you. All our stories sound so much alike, except I wasn't diagnosed til I was like 28.

  • @ironbith it's so ridiculous how long it takes some people to get a diagnosis. i've talked to people that said it took over 30 years. so sad.

  • i love this video. rock on, and thanks for sharing it.

curious: what diet changes do you think helped you the most?

  • @heiwalove thanks! cutting out refined sugars and preservatives was probably what helped me most :)

  • Shannie! Wonderful video. This is going to help so many people.I love that you shared your story.I'm sorry all of those dr's treated you in that way-you are so brave to have kept on going (and to still be going!).Everything you said was spot on (by the way, my dr's told me most of my problems were caused by ovarian cysts as well!(I do have them, but still) So excited for you to become a nutritionist, pretty sure I'll be your first client! xo

  • @lauranne2585 i'm excited too! and are ovarian cysts related to endo? it seems like a lot of people that have them have endo too..
