Get DivX For Your Playstation 3 or Xbox 360

except for mkv my ps3 play everything. is that supposed to be weird?

It's normal since mkv is not supported. Maybe with a future version.

I tryed to use a .DivX file on my PS3 and it didn't work, didnt even pick it up in the media server Why is that?

I just tested an mkv on my ps3, using ps3 media server, worked great. just remember to transcode when playing on the ps3.

the 360 can play divx and xvid (yes i know ps3 will be getting xvid soon)

but the 360 does do it you just have to use the standard console they dont have support for media center yet but its comeing!!!

XviD do play on my PS3(new :D ), at least the files I tested did. I used a external hard drive with FAT32. NTFS will not work.

Update your Xbox 360 firmware first. It's been available for a few weeks. Now, did you mean that you have to rename the file to .avi for it to work? If so, just add that step and rename it. I used that method(convert) on my DivX standalone player and it's 4 years old! No menu are integrated by default in the drag and drop for the video.

dude xbox doesnt use divx, when i try playing an entourage episode via media center on my xbox and 50'' plasma, it tells me its not a file xbox understands. please help

Maybe because the file is not a "real" DivX. It may also use some functions not supported by Xbox360.

Btw, they even announced it before the PS3.
