  • No one can understand the things this piece makes me feel. Such a wonderful torrent of emotion, it washes me in its glory and brings me peace. Fields of the Nephilim are the one true gothic band, mixing emotion and ambience into a wondrously dark style that captures and enchants you.

  • son exelentes gracias a fields of nefilim empeze a escuchar rock gotico antes escuchaba casi puro black metal y doom metal pero escuchando esto me empezo a gustar el rock gotico

  • Fields of the Nephilim are like the stars, always will be in heaven

  • Just love this band since many many years! Thank you for this video! =)

  • @katyshade why he is wrong . You reckon tehy make the music to make people feel depression and sad i think they far away from. World is full of shit but be above this.

  • Seems like this Song is the same as "Wail of Sumer", the 7th Track on the CD "Elizium". Not big difference between this Song and the Song "And There Will Your Heart Be Also"

  • @koalamuc its a gapless album. Smooth transition which is why this is one of my fav albums ever. They just seamlessly go into the next song as if they recorded it like that.

  • wooooooooooooowwww...it takes me to another realm.......

  • this song is a religious experience

  • This is beautiful... brings tears to my eyes... :,)

  • Excellent , melting shot for Video Redone

    perfect

    thx man

  • shit! my english is not enough to tell what i feel when i hear this song, just amazing!

  • @spiritusofnature - I don't think anyone's English is good enough to describe this music...

  • 20 years on and we still come back. Still as beautiful.

  • I love this track... one of my all time favourites.....

  • the question is who s the one who disliked this...a voyage to nostalgy...one of the best song ever recorded, one of the best album ever recorde, every note remind me where i have been before, from infancy to now...who i really am it trancends body and gives to my spirit the true dress...this is like a form of ascension to me...sweet,melancholic and sensual,i will listen them forever

  • @1996forzajuve well spoken.

  • Wow. 302 likes and only one dislike. That's awesome!

  • shitbag cocksucker

  • Perfect

  • I can't think of many songs that affect so completely and resonate so deeply within nearly every facet of the listener....

    I love this band, timelessly.

  • optimo...

  • ESTILO PRÓPRIO DA ÉPOCA. ÓTIMO.

  • wow! Only 1 person disliked this video.

    Im impressed

  • @devilsmurf so only one person did not find the heart where it will be also?

  • @devilsmurf Considering it's footage from 'Hardware'!

  • I have often sat in my room, shades drawn, black light on, and drifted to another world listening to this whole album.

"From this maelstrom free, are you."

"From this maelstrom, to be with you."

  • @wynternight777

    You are OK :)

    Elizium rules!

  • There has been, and never will be, an aural experience as are The Fields of the Nephilim.

    Nothing quit like them. Amazing.

  • Nick Mason's relaxed mid-tempo drum, spheres only Richard Wright can create, and lyrics that show Waters' depth - all recorded on David Gilmour's houseboat !

Am I taking this too far ? I probably do :) But for someone who adores Floyd and loves Fields - this is amazing !

  • from this maelstrom to be with you...

  • full of LOVE

  • Nothing I have heard deserves the word "sublime" more than this, wonderful.

  • "We don't feel no contamination......"

I love what you've done here. All the clips go so well with the song. I love that you included clips from the film "Hardware" too.

This song still moves me after all these years. I never get tired of it.

  • gods

  • gods

  • The most exciting song I´ve ever heard. The top of the classic goth.

  • Very interesting mood and atmosphere.

  • My heart is also...

  • Absolutely stunning..this song...still! The Nephs never made anything as beautiful as this..but I'm glad they made "Elizium", one of the best records of all time..I must say!

  • For me one of the songs of all times.

  • how i love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • superb

  • fucking awesome

  • Fields in elysium=Goth Floyd

  • @Neueregel exactly ! That song proves the influence of Pink Floyd beyond their "prog" genre on the British rock scene : British rock bands should raise a statue to Pink Floyd ( and most British guitarists a statue to David Gilmour ).

  • @carl13220 Generally all musicians(if not all people) should raise a statue to Floyd. Saw the Fields in Hellfest, Birminingham last year. They still rock!!

  • @carl13220 Agree 100%. Produced by Andy Jackson who was an engineer on a couple of Pink Floyd albums.

I saw the Neph play this live in Newcastle as part of the Visionary Heads\Earth Inferno tour. They played the whole album from beginning to end (with an alternate version of Sumerland).

    It was amazing.

  • @Livyathan2007

    Visionary Heads is simply amazing.

You have been really lucky being there, live..ciao!

  • @Livyathan2007 Desperately wish I was there! [slumps back into a comatose state] been netless for 10 months, but Nephless for 5 years! Argh!

  • If Pink Floyd were gothic and 1 n1/2 decades after, i think they should be like this

  • Interesting you should say this, "wer" :

The album "Elizium" was recorded on David Gilmour's house boat "Astoria" ...

  • ...best song ever...

  • this is wonderfull song for ever green

  • best song ive ever heard

  • Agreed.

  • mierrrrrr amo este temaaa

  • As beautiful as a perfect dream...so many times I escaped reality listening to this song...and found myself gliding over the plains of Sumerland, in the end of Spring...

  • lonely from this maelstrom

    free are you...

    fuckin epic... !!!

  • ...from this maelstrom to be with you...

  • BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL SONG! I love this album, but this song is the most beautiful and easiest to chill to. The lyrics, the guitar. Untouchable!

  • maybe the best ..as for the ethereal ones and the imagery is exquisite,,,,.....its nitetime late and while replaying this ..i discovered a monarch butterfly flyng towards my porchlite and it let me gently get it and i released it ito the backyard safely as it happily flew towards the flowers.....so surreal......so fitting for the song

  • when i argue with my wife i lock myself to my little room playing on my cdplayer that unbelievable wicked song

  • Some things could not be more profound, more sincere, or more true. Some things could never be replaced. For me, this expresses what it would seem, words could never do. Carl understands the higher vibration of the higher self with a great but beautifully dark ease i can relate to so very personally. I thank him for that. I am deeply touched.

  • @MistressAvalon Oh,beautiful dark

  • this is great goth band in the world im listing this song 15 years ewer green

  • can you feel it? so close...

  • why do people need drugs if there's music like this??

dear this goes straight to every sense

    I love the Fields

  • I agree. The best band ever.

  • bring the darkness!

  • Ki ekei tha nai h kardia sou epishs...

  • coldchillz...

  • This is so dreamy....

  • Comment removed

  • this makes me prety emotional

  • whenever i hear nephilim,or some nin, always reminds me of really old buildings, hidden away in a secret forest somewhere.very dreamy and etherial!!!peace everyone!!!!

  • Wail of summer and this song right after!!!What more??Just the beauty of laying back and enjoying such great music!!

  • from this maelstrom free are you......

they have so many great songs, but this one always gets me....

  • Given how much amazing music McCoy and the Heph have crafted over the years it seems almost ridiculous to say this is one of my favourites, there are just too many great tracks to chose from.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • Heph? Doh. Obviously I meant Neph

  • I cnan't say how much this resonates with me!! just Awesome!!

  • Such a dynamic piece of music.

  • this is our song

  • Almost the entire "Elizium" album is has such an addictive sound and while I'm glad in a way that this outstanding piece of music is here on YouTube and I can listen to it at the office here and now, I feel like I'm robbing this song of it's soul listening to it in daylight...Well done McCoy !

  • ooh...I love this song....Fields of the Nephilim rules!!!

  • addictive

  • Carl is a musical god.

  • McCoy is so great, love all this stuff!!!!!

    thanks

  • Been a Nephilim fan since 1987 the music is haunting and addictive.Keep watching.

  • It's such a depressing song, yet so beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • It's not depressive for a minute. FOTN was never depressing, and will never be depressing.

It's an unearthly joy what you hear, it makes a good soul smile.

  • If anything it is uplifting but stay away from it if you are depressive :)

For an album that was recorded on David Gilmour's houseboat "Astoria" there's plenty of Richard Wright in it, especially the last three songs - you beauty !

  • It cures me instantly when I feel depressed.

  • I understand - melancholy is strength...

  • I just a Void vortex of Peace , Stardust like sand and Giant Astros reflexting each other likes. Slowly falling from the bed and going inside the cosmos.

    Just Joy

  • @Danhelll

you are so correct, its music for the soul (makes me feel alive, lived the best moments in life at the sound on FOTN

  • @Danhelll

You're definitely wrong, but your words are kind anyway...

  • No it's a (rather good) Fanvid comprising cuts from 'Hardware' and FoTN videos for other songs. It's been reposted and the original post has gone. Can't remember if ZoonMelt7 was original poster but I do remember that the original poting was well over a year ago and had more info associated with it. Plus I'd commented.

    It's a great vid.

  • recorded at Park Gate Studio, Battle.

additional recording and mixing at Astoria, Hampton Court.

Produced by Nephilim and Andy Jackson (he have worked also with Pink Floyd).

There isn't ufficial video because this song was not chosen as a singol from Elizium.

  • Not an official video ? Great job - to say the least :)

Can someone confirm that they recorded this album on David Gilmour's houseboat "Astoria" ?

  • I am amazed by this music. Its brilliant.

  • nessuno come loro.

La più bella canzone nell'album più bello di sempre.

  • so lovely and melancholic <3

i love to listen to this before i go to sleep

  • GREAT BAND AND PERFECT ALBUM

Niezwykle piękne i zjawiskowe dzieło. Elizium będzie istnieć puki będą istnieć w człowieku jakiekolwiek uczucia.

Ten utwór winien nie mieć końca...

  • Dokładnie, to jedyny kawałek który mógłby trwać w nieskończoność.

  • this song is so beautiful and melancholic.

  • Simply epic.

    Best goth band ever.

  • Perfect!

  • Very nice work!

  • i just watched "hardware M.A.R.K. 13" today ugh I had to come listen to some nephilim after that.

  • Perfect choice of song.

    Great video mix.

You,ve done a truly amazing job.

  • We must suffer... to free our pain...

From this maelstrom, free with you...

  • i love this song!!

  • someone tell me what song has the lyrics "...like opium in your heart..." I'm trying to track it down, but not having much luck...

  • That would be "Submission", track 5 on Elizium.

  • Thanks Jakkbomb. I actually have the album now. Great CD ;-)

  • I love this song!

  • Great mesmerizing tune. This is my favourite song along with "Wail of Sumer". They both have the same hypnotic bassline. I imagine this to be a great soundtrack for a sunset in the middlesummer.

  • Elizium is one of the greatest albums. I saw Carl at Tuska festival last week and I gotta say his charisma and stage presence are one of a kind. Take a look at my videoclips from a front row on my profile. ;)

  • timeless..they are the best..

  • gotta love them spooky cowboys!

  • most greatest song I've ever heard.. Fields of the Nephilim are immortal...

  • This is probably my favourite song of all time. I don't think there will ever be another band quite like this, do you?

  • excellent work, such a great song.

  • beautiful

  • lost my gf today... think i'm gonne play this on her funeral

  • Comment removed
