It is a shame! Every human needs the basics. We can do better, before it all just explode. The streets, homes etc. are not safe for anyone. I help but it takes EVERYONE to care and help!

A big part of the problem is the poor mental health facilities in Las Vegas. Few years ago I suffered a mental breakdown, and lost my job. I asked for help from the State but got none. After paying taxes in this state for 25+ years, I was ignored and forgotten. Nevada is a cold hearted state when it comes to the mentally ill, old and destitute.

Thank God for my friends, who rescued me when I was down.

@maybachmusic99 look dude I lived out there 2 glorious year wish I had never left. have even met people that were homeless in las vegas( really no reason for anyone to be with the abundance of houses there) true there are a very few people that fell through the cracks , but for the most part the only reason is drugs alcohol (& mental instability) with as mutch money as there still is to be had out there there is no reason, the city should buy people a ticket to los angeles or something.

@maybachmusic99 everytime I've ever been to las vegas outside of living there there has always been a homeless problem many people go there unprepared , or thinkn that you can actually pay for your grocery's by gambling etc. but yes again most of them are druggys alkis' & phycho's.I've been there alot . check kthe name circusboy.

Up on Tropicana there was a underpass that a lot of the poor homeless slept I passed by there one morning when one homeless man asked me for a dollar?

I had no small bills & apologised.

At the restaurant I felt bad & bought a extra breakfast to go..

I threw in a few bucks in the bag.

I was walking back home when there he was..sitting on the bench looking sad & tired.

I gave him the bag.

You think I gave a million dollars?

I have been urban spellunking in many major us & canadian citys. there are hundreds of thousands of new hotel rooms being installed as we speak. there is nothing wrong with the economy that is not ciclycal & has not happened before.

Obozo telling people not to entertain for business is what made a slight hit to the lvg economy go down nto the economy the people are just going elsewhere for a while .

@slimES104block oh yea h15% is bad but that means 85% still have jobs and unemployment means opportunity, there are slated to be 400,000 new hotel rooms installed in the next 7 years( I have an inside track to this information) no I dea yes I've driven by those people and thought , hahaha, no that will never be me . I'd leave town first and go where the money is . vegas is still doing relativlely well I sill know people out there . only uneducated or low skill people have lost jobs.

I was homeless for 17 years and now have a place - neighbors' barking dogs day and night drive me crazy, police harrass me taking a walk near my place, all kinds of bills and maintenance, and for what? I have lived in Las Vegas for 33 years even in the peak of economic prosperity these people were here. Some are sick, or had bad luck. But, some of these people want to be here. Nothing to do with the state of the country, the mayor, or lack of work. Since 1990 I have had a full time job and a part time job. In walking distance from tent city.

But the majority of the people that are winding up in tent cities nowadays have wound up there because of things that are out of their control. Just because you are lucky enough to have 2 jobs doesn't mean there is enough work to go around for everyone. There are alot of people who have been looking for work for a long time

@circusboy90210 I've been watching ALOT of these videos; and there are alot of people out there that have an education and have skills; and because the economy is so bad they lost their job and can't find another one in their field. I've heard of people who are in the construction business and out of work because no one is building anything; plumbers who put plumbing in new buildings that can't find work for the same reason; etc.
