About possessive rules with proper nouns that end in s, I do believe that you put an 's after one syllabled nouns, like Ness, therefore Ness's house is correct. :D

But since Burrows is two syllables, I think it should've been Burrows' instead. Of course, editors and writers sometimes say it's ALWAYS 's, so maybe the rules change based on stuff. I don't know what they teach in the US, but these are the rules they taught us here in the Philippines. :)
