Who would ever think of using ANY 20C battery for an EDF?! And, who would ever use a regular turnigy battery for a high powered EDF instead of a Nano-Tech?
@legoliker7517 You obviously know nothing about C ratings on batteries. C rating times Amps (MAh)5.0 means that it was good for 100Amp draw. I was only pulling 65 Amps on that ESC.
@fookrav I use turnigy lipos all the time and i would HIGLY recommend them. They are made by the same MFG's as other "high end" batteries out there. If a lipo is gonna go its gonna go no matter what. Thats just the nature of this type of battery and really any type of battery. If it gets a short in it you will see a show! LOL
Unknown as to why. Some speculate that it got punctured in flight and others say that it was a voltage issue. Here are the facts. I flew the plane earlier that day with this battery and it flew great. I re-charged the battery but it only put in 1000mAh back into the 5000mAh pack. We discussed what just happened and thought that it would be better not to put it back up but we checked out the battery and the voltage and everything seemed fine. It was reading 4.20 v per cell before the flight.
0:36 sure we put it out with fuel ????

"Not for sure what caused it" - I'm gonna go with electrons.

That was quite the landing considering the lipo was burning up inside it.

@legoliker7517 Who would ever think of posting this comment to YouTube without reading the label on the battery in the video?

@PLANAutomation You mean the "High discharge" label? OK, maybe that is exaggerating--but it does say that it's 20-30C.

@TheSkylineflyer OK--I didn't know that--but....everybody knows, or should know, not to use a 20C battery on a Jet.

hehe. turnigy go bye bye

@RCllamadude Those had to come from a bad batch. Both were getting puffy and never once got hot or brought below 3.7 volts per cell.

@rcsailer What? Gas? The gas is a great glue for foam. Try it on one of your nice foamies. ;)

I've seen a 6-pack of 2000 ni-cads burn a car light-up a carbon fiber car frame.

@TheSkylineflyer You could of drawn more amps every flight causing the battery to slowly puff then boom goes the dynamite.

Why did that happen?
Was it from the cells getting to low in volts?
Curious, just bought my first lipo today. Haven't charged it yet or used it.
Not to sound like a dick but want to make sure I don't make a mistake like this =)

@Tintamar5678 Just care for your battery, store at right voltage etc. and charge in LiPo sack and u'll be safe
