I remember on my 1st jump standing in the door #1 jumper just seeing pine trees,when the green lite came on we were still over the trees .jumped and caught the edge of the dz.. 1/509 GERONIMO !!

Was that a Jump School jump? I only counted 10 people jumping and only out of 1 door. Brings back memories. :-)

You get a maroon beret when you are assigned to an Airborne Unit after Jump School. Legs don't wear Maroon Berets only Airborne Qualified Paratroopers. If you have bad luck and are assigned to a leg unit then you don't wear a Maroon beret. You do wear your Jump Wings on your uniform.
