@EagleOwls It's the iPad camera connection kit. I paid about £25 in John Lewis but you can get them in any Apple store, Amazon etc. There's a new one out now with more connectors on it but it does the same job.
It's a Samsung 35mm f/2.0 D-Xenogon - same as the Pentax 35mm SMC f2 AL. Nice lens. I've just seen the Pentax branded version for over £400. I got mine in a sell-off in Curry's in the UK for £125. Bit of a bargain, brand new. Funny how the Samsung version Pentax lenses sold for less. Identical lenses, different price. But that's marketing, I guess!
@spogley Dear god, you're right! It's like getting 60% off for being savvy enough to recognize both are K-Mount...wondering what Samsung's future in the Mirrorless industry will be now that there is the Pentax K-01 being released soon.
No, you can't shoot with the cable connected because connecting the cable automatically puts the camera in playback mode. The restriction is from the camera, not the iPad.
The only way around this would be to use an eyefi SD card but for me the whole point of using the IPad for checking pix is to do it out on location and the eyefi card demands a network connection.
Yes I know it can be done but it's easier to just connect the cable.
well.. reconnect the USB 1000x times and you can send it for service..
Using any Win laptop + free PK-Tether software while camera is still connected is MUCH better + you can set everything (but zoom of course) from your computer.
@xmeda I have a Win laptop with tether. Using the iPad is neither better nor worse, it is different and used for a different purpose. You don't have to compete!
Hi what do you call the White thing you connect to your iPad 2 and where can I buy it? Cheers! - Martin GB

Might want to pitch those oranges. That looked like black pin mold on them.

What lens did you use? I liked the depth of field of the picture.

Cool vid. What is that micro-tripod you've got?

It's a Manfrotto Dini 709B. They're quite cheap, about £20 in the UK when I bought mine. Very handy and surprisingly solid even with a DSLR mounted.

BillyRoseFilms 4 months ago
@BillyRoseFilms Yes, exactly the same with iPad 1.
spogley 4 months ago
@BillyRoseFilms No, doesn't work with video. And iPad either version works the same.

Good but my eyefi card works much better without the need for any cables.
