I love how everyone comes here to bash on how this guy shoots his rifle. I mean really, like he gives a shit. Let him do what he wants! All that matters is that he's having fun shooting :) If you know what you're doing, GOOD FOR YOU!
I've had my 710 since they came out & never had a problem with mines my bolt doesn't stick either. I think they are good rifles no matter what anyone says
i have the model 710 30 06 i am not saying it is a good or bad rifle and im not going to argue i never had problems since i got it used a year ago the bolt is sticky sometimes it can be fixed sometimes not but whatever all guns have flaws i never really cared about the bolt it never affected my shooting in my opinion it was the best rifle i bought for 200 bucks if i was worried about the bolt and superior quality i would have payed 900 for a different gun
Don't sell it....probably one of the more consistent guns out there. People give the gun a bad name because of the bolt action but I've oiled mine and it's honestly not even a problem.
This guy is a rookie. I think every one will agree with me that you don't take your eyes off the target even when you shoot. Notice how he blinks and gets rattled by the recoil of the gun which is by the way, not much comparing to the ones I have even with a 7mm Win Mag. And why does he pull and push the bolt so hard? It's not like he has a moving target! Not bad of a weapon the Remington 710, nice priced too. My Custom R700 is still king of the hill between Remington models.
im an avid shooter and been shooting since i was 11 years old and its hard for me to keep from blinking when the rifle fires i think it just depends on the person, i agree with following threw and keepin your eye on the target but its hard not to blink
agreed man i test meself all the time with my .44 mag revolver, i get someone to load in a random 2 or 3 without me looking and man its hilarious how much someone flinches when u hit that blank haha
DatxFlipxBoixRon was refering to the 7mm Winchester Short mag. Stay in school bobf3360 (ROOKIE) He just forgot to type the word Short. Just to clear things up bobfe360, YOU are refering to the 7mm Remington magnum and not the 7mm Remington ULTRA magnum or the 7mm Remington SHORT ACTION ULTRA magnum, right?. (Please read a book)
i went to far with the queer part. theres not to many people out there to talk about guns with so when u do find someone that knows what there talking about u get excited
The "sweet spot" is pushing the bolt straight forward. For some reason if there is any side-to-side pressure on the 710s, the bolt wants to be hard to push.
Theres no need to try be all fast on the bolt when your not firing rapidly. All your doing is wearing and tearing your bolt and inners, quite frankly i agree with pranksta
Where to start, smashed the rifle down on its rest, will nock scope off. Wearing GLOVES!! No trigger controll, not sufficient grip, Snatched the trigger something terrable, looked like he was going to cry after every shot. Rough as fuck with the bolt, changed position after every shot aswell. Plus his kit was crap
u should get rid of that rifle and get the new version model 770 its the new upgraded one just got rid of my 710 for the 770 same scope but better built smoother bolt and more durable clip assembly looks a lot better to and shoots well!!!!
I love the fact that as soon as someone posts a video about guns, instantly you get a load of jerks trying to boast their 'arms ego' by making stupid comments about other peoples gun posture etc. Usually its the chicken wing comment, and the funniest thing is, most people dont actually know why you are supposed to keep your trigger arm down.
I'd be happy to; the reason we are taught to keep our Trigger arm flush to our body, is because when you are entering a room in a FIBUA situation etc, you need to keep a low profile so you dont bump your elbow against a door frame, or, more importantly your other squad members. As far as target shooting goes, the position of your trigger arm makes no difference to shooting etiquette. Besides letting people on the internet moan about your posture :)
Hey Dim Sum! 1st of all, nice vid. Let me guess, you must be shooting 30.06? U did better than many newbies, at least better than me when I first shot a high-power rifle, LOL :) If you are up for a new rifle, try Savage, the last time I zeroed it, unfortunately, it was at 88yrds not 100yrds, I was able to put 5 shots in a penny. I will try to get a pic when I get my rifle back from a stock maker :)
Hey Bro, If you like what you're shooting and it WORKS for you then roll with it! Don't let these knuckle heads talk $ht. Cuz I could pick up any rifle with the right ammo and out shooot any one of these fools. People just like to talk smack! Keep shooting man!
hey thanks for stopping by...yeah I'm aware that the 700's are a lot better. It's just they are a bit out of my budget, but anyhow I ain't complaining about my plastic 710 I just need a job first.
I find that hard to believe; at what range? I doubt you would be able to tell what MOA your rifle is holding after 5-10 rounds...
Those of you in the market for a new budget rifle from Remington would be better off with a 700 SPS or older ADL. The 710 is not built to the same standard as Remington's other bolt guns had it has a lot of plastic.
Have one it and love it. No problems other than the limited Bushnell scope. I upgraded that right off the bat. The .270 is hell on deer. I picked the rifle because it was short like a compact.
Dude, do you have a flsh guard?

its now been 3 years, still have my 710 30-06 and still shoots great.
I little oil on the bolt action and have not had any problem.
I camo sprayed it and added a muzzle brake and bipod . Shoots like a 22lr
hardly a kick. Its my best deer rifle. Ill be posting pics soon,
season starts Nov 6 in Mn and Ill attach pics.

Take it easy on the bolt. Military sniper training will teach you that during the first lesson.

Lol, and even on top of that.....in case you haven't watched the video, Look at how this guy flips the bolt.
...ever really see it catch and fail?
It's not ALL rifles. Just some. I've seen some cases of bolts that just won't move. That's something you'll have to meter when you buy the gun.
JPain15k 2 years ago
Although, I am impressed that your rifle has made it through almost two boxes of ammunition without failure.

I have a remington 710 that Ive never shot. Im debating weather to sell it since Ive heard some bad stories about it.
faulisdead 3 years ago
bad stories? I was thinking of gettiing one b/c it was based off the remington 700 and I hear its accurate and gets some range... again bad stories?
YouMockMe 3 years ago
It's not a 700 action at all..
I don't know what it's based off of, but it's a very cheap, unreliable action, that is prone to malfunction.
gyates93 2 years ago
its the sps
culturalmut 2 years ago
um.. NO its not
it works and i have put almost 40 rounds through mine without any problem what so ever the bolt was sticky but again USE REMOIL to clear that up
Rabiesthecat 2 years ago
@Rabiesthecat
Forty rounds is certainly not a lot of shooting. Definitely not enough for me to gauge the reliability of a rifle.

lliamcoombs 2 years ago
i hope you did not sell it
they are nice little guns even though they have a sticky bolt but a few squirts of remoil fixes that
most of the reviews and story's are people that never own or have shot them

Especially with higher caliber rifles.
Flinching is an INVOLUNTARY REFLEX to protect the eyes. The rifle should surprise you everytime you squeeze. It should be that slow a trigger pull.
Blinking is natural.
