referring to '' magro e bello'', I wouldn't do that kind of gesture on my cheek to say ''bello'', since it has a completely different meaning to me. I'd use it to mean cunning, to say that a person is ''tagliata''.
but as I said at the beginning of the post it's a really nice video!
I'm italian, and i found english much more easier and simple than my original language. you can say a lot of things much faster. i've got 8 in english at school.. wich is like a B in your country.
ahuahuahauh! In italian "i swear" its not "lo juro", but "lo giuro", "al bacCio" its "al bacio" and if you want to learn the italian gestures, come to italy. :-)
in this video the gestures aren't correctly, if this people try to make the gestures in italy, they'll see that are tourists! XD
U know what?! When you have to learn a new language you have to study everything: grammar, rules, verbs, words and vocables. If you wanna learn italian, u just have to learn some signs and gestures... And these signs are even intuitive, isn't it? ^^
AHAHAH DAI STO MORENDO DI RISATE!! MA IO VORREI SAPERE COME PARLA IL RESTO DEL MONDO..!! CERTO PERO' CHE FACCIAMO CERTE COSE...TROPPO BELLO!!! ahaha..TROPPO BELLI I NOSTRI GESTI
Please don't say you are italian just because your parents have (far) italian origins. You are NOT italian. I know saying "I'm italian" makes you more interesting than "I'm from (put the name of your birthplace here)", but please don't assume we beleive it's true.
P.S.: I know my english is bad and full of mistakes, but remember is better and better than your italian.
@RefurbishedBrain Ahahah, you are a small man. Instead of answering with contents, you just insult people. I'm nobody's lawyer, and I replied just because I DID read all the comments. What you should learn? Learning not to insult people, for example. Learning not to reason by stereotypes, as second example. Good luck!
@RefurbishedBrain Hey you, calm down! Try to say rottinculo to someone else. Where did you read such an hostility? I read comments and I just saw right observations such as some wrong spellings and some wrong gestures. And what's more, italian people already did lot of videos. So please, try you to be less "provincialotto" and go on learning, you need it!
Anybody explaining to me why Americans are obsessed with Italian gestures? All other peoples don't give a shit about it but Americans always go gaga with Italian hand waving
@Deisinoful I think because we are really like that (I'm italian), no one else in the world uses hand gestures as much as Italians (maybe in south american, and I think because of the Italian immigration happened there).
I once used the al baccio course the hand gesture flipped further in meaning and intended for a road rage American running me off the road, anyway I 'm sure he took it more the kiss of death or you pissed me off. By the way I'm American yet it could have something to do with my grandfather being from Sicily. Boh che ne baccio-Non lo so-I don't know? Oh I like the quanto costa hand gesture especially me or what I'd use.
I m italian and some gestures on the video I didnt know it at all for example "perfect" and "I m hungry". Anyway we dont speak in this way, sometime we use it for give power to the expressions but we dont use it continuesly. Especially when we are calm we use it little time. Instead when we are excited we use it more.
@milly8389 anyway the main form of comunicaton is the italian language not the gestures. And it is not true we use all that gestures. it existes but we dont use all that. "I swear" is used only by kids and also "let's go to sleep" . "damn it" and "that's it" are very rare. "I'll call you later" is used if there is a great distance between you and another. I've never seen "thin" gesture and "goodlooking" is used only by teenagers. "Bho I don know" is the more used!!!!
1:45 minute mark is wrong. Trust me, I am Italian, and "perfect" is in a different way.
But..foreigners like you do not gesture as you speak? What do you do while you are still properties disclosed? For an Italian like me is inconceivable ... amazing!
Lol, nice, some very nice, some it could be better but...made by foreigners...well done! Most of these gestures are solid in Italian daily use, the thing is that you can't use them safely and properly until you really get a feel on them, which takes a while. But some of the gestures are newish casual or personal, others are old fashioned. I think that two were wrong though: "perfetto", see another video for how we do in most places, "tanto tempo fa" is far too exagerate thus different than real
Good work guys.. at 0.58 when He says "Mannaggia" it's wonderful!

are these the great sociologic researches of modern american universities?
wow they could watch a typical american movie depicting stereotypes of italian people
whe i went to USA i have seen americans gesticulate too with their hands when they speak,
bytheway i have never seen in italy people gesticulating in these stupid ways, apart two or three that are real

If you are learning Italian avoid using gestures while speaking. Despite this common stereotype, many or them are regarded as rude if not vulgar.
