wow people really need to stop bitching about how picks make you "not a real bassist". this is a punk song and punk bass is done almost 100% of the time with a pick, its a different sound that compliments the style of music and vocals. Yeah i like fingerpicking or slap/pop better, who doesn't? but its still a pretty damn impressive song and the pick gives it the sound its supposed to have, so i suggest you remove whatever is up your ass, do your own thing, and respect your fellow bassists

Wow, people still go by this theory? That is probably one of the most ignorant comments about bass ever. The bassist of Rancid, Operation Ivy, Blink-182, Green Day, Nirvana, The Offspring, NOFX, and tons more use picks. A pick generates a more "Bite" which is, at times, preferred over the mellow finger pluck and the funky Slap/Pop method. Honestly, this is almost equivalent to saying all Bassists are bad Guitarists. >.>

Finally got maxwell murder myself! Except for the solo... What tuning is your bass in? Cos you use the open strings much less than I do, and the positioning seems weird...

Hes probably in the same tuning you are in. Remember that fret 5 is the same as the string under it with the exception of the G string that has a 4th fret for B and a 5th for C.

Basicly hes playing the same notes higher up.
