lol, hate to tell ya, thats not gore orphanage, thats the dean road bridge, also called heartbeat bride, sounds like a heart beat when you drive on it, still scary, a lady threw her child off of that bride and a man hung himself, someitmes if you shut your car of on it it wont start back up..

We live in Lakewood Ohio, and went not too long ago. We heard screaming, and the big door opening and closing, and a black cat. It was scary as shit. we are going back on Monday, with a friend, haha!

Story goes if you see a noose your going to die soon, and when you stop your car and turn it off in the middle you will have trouble starting it again. And then there will be handprints in the fog on your windows, supposedly the people trying to keep you from leaving. Also, pretty creepy in the middle of the night

I live like 20 minutes away or so and I have been down there several times in the middle of the night to walk through the woods there with a few of my friends. Its pretty creepy you can see some of the original foundations, and walking back in the dark is scarey!

my unckle lives by it and when he was in 11th grade his friend didn't belive it and went there on the day it burned and the cops went back to find him (the next day) and they couldent find him but me and my unckle its been 13 years and now i'm borned and 12 and where going soon

That stretch of land is all weird,it's frikkin fogging year round,what is now Gore Orphanage road used to be "Swift's Hollow" that's where all the juicy,cult stuff comes in...and the deaths of children all around1850...the old  cemetary...how the Gores 1st Orphanage in Idaho also burnt down ???.hmmm....all this info can be confirmed at the Elyria public library in there public records,that shit goes way back....spiritualizm,Divinatio­n,these things were practiced alot in that area

I live like 20 mins from gore orphanage. noone was killed in the fire when it burned it down there. not saying its not haunted tho. people just got the facts wrong. also its called gore not because of gore like blood and guts. The road was originally laid out along the boundary line dividing Lorain County from its western neighbor, Huron

County. When a surveying error was discovered, a thin strip of land resembling the gore of a dress had to be annexed to Lorain.

I might go out there to fish cause that river is great. wonder if I should go alone tho? maybe the ghosts will try to scare me or scare the fish away. I believe in ghosts. I watch all the shows on tv. I been to gore both night and at day time and found the foundation of swifts hollow. even had a talk with the ranger guy at the top of the hill. also been to that cemetary with the angel with no arms. never seen anything or heard anything tho. we took pix of the bridge and all but saw nothing.

i live like 10, 15 minutes from gore orphanage.a couple ppl from my schooljust went there recently.the whole thing about orphans is not true.there never was an orphanage.there was a mansion there though.and it was burned down with no one in it.but anyways i do believe something there is wrong.the ppl from my school who went,took pictures afterwards and there was ghostly looking things in the pictures.the three who went twice were the only ones who had ghosts in their pictures.

Get to I-480W(I think its west) and take it all of the way down. It will change into Rt. 2 or 20, something like that. It will be a 4 lane highway that will eventually change into 2 lanes. There will be a sign for Gore Orphanage Road, turn right. Im not sure where to go from there, but that is most of the directions you need.

Oh my gosh. We went to this place after football games back in the 70's and the stories are the same. I remember Robert Lee running down the road with dried cornstocks stuffed into his clothing, trying to scare us. So funny.

i used to go here about 15 years ago, it really was a blast. I love the baby's cries that you can hear explained as cars going under the overpass nearby, there's also legend that baby footprints will appear sometimes. I've tried the trick w babypowder but who's to say the someone didn't pull prank while we were off in the woods. There's also a big rock down on the bank by one of those bridges & I'm not sure which because it has been so long but we saw some weird shadows there one night.

I remember going down there not too long ago with my dad and sister. It was getting dark out, so we didn't really get to see anything. But I do remember going down that road in the video at 2:18. Vaguely, But I do remember it. I've always wanted to do this sort of thing one night over the summer, but I was always afraid of the cops and the guy that flips out. Haha. Nice job. =]

ive been three times.. the last being last night and we went from gore orphanage road past a road closed sign (another way to get there being from sperry road, but that had an unsurpassable road closed sign) as we were about to go down there there was a car (cop car?) shining a spotlight into the fields from the car so we obviously didnt go down. The light was so bright it had to be a copcar with a searchlight.

p.s. Anybody know why the roads down there always have road closed signs?

It's funny, because I remember trying to go down there. An old girlfriend of mine and I went to the Rock n Roll Hall from Toledo, and on the way back we stopped. It was like midnight, and we had just parked before the guy who lives in that house ( I think he's a park ranger) was out and shining a giant spotlight all around the site. You got way farther than we did. Kudos.

I hope you know that the whole Gore Orphanage thing didn't happen at all. Read the book "Weird Ohio" as it went in depth and researched the whole incident. Just a legend to spice up boring V-Town.
