Yes, it is helpful. I (Ally) run a repair business locally and I still see more 3GS smashed screens more than any other type of device combined. They are free or less than $50 on contract, of course people buy them (and break them)
@LegendaryWaterBottle lol I just turned in my 3GS to get the 4G. I know there are a lot of folks reluctant to upgrade to 4G because Apple still hasn't figured out what is causing the batteries to die with that new IOS5 system. I have to keep my 4G on 3g because when it's on Wi-fi the battery dies. This is the same problem I have with the 3GS. I can't use wi-fi because that is what causes the battery to fun down fast. So, yes there are still many people holding on to their 3GS phones now. lol
