Actually, it wasn't designed by Dino, Enzo's son. Dino was only involved in the design of the V6 engine, but probably not in the design of the V6 which was used in the Dino. It was Leonardo Fioravanti at design company Pininfarina who was behind the design of the Dino Ferrari.
Alfredo Ferrari (January, 1932 June 30, 1956), nicknamed Alfredino or Dino after his grandfather, was the only legitimate son of Enzo Ferrari. Dino suggested to Enzo Ferrari the development of a 1.5 L DOHC V6 engine. Soon afterwards, Alfredo fell ill, suffering from muscular dystrophy. Dino would never see the engine; he died on June 30, 1956 at the age of only 24, before Dinos were produced.
